Yeah love me some Romans 6

Do you not know that when you offer yourselves as obedient slaves, you are slaves to the one you obey, whether you are slaves to sin leading to death, or to obedience leading to righteousness? 17But thanks be to God that, though you once were slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were committed. 18You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.
19I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to escalating wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness.

That wholehearted obedience, that offering of yourself as a slave to righteousness, That is the confession of Jesus as Lord, that results in salvation because of its leading to holiness (What the law could not do) the living of the life of God in Christ Jesus.
He is already talking to saved people who already have salvation ?

does it matter to you , how jesus said we are saved ? Do you think he knows God better than we do ? Should anyone find out what the lord Jesus the savior said about being saved ?
Free Grace, does not argue against what Christ said. It argues for the reasons we can believe on Him and why we can't.

Joh 3:27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it have been given him from heaven.

A couple of thoughts to ponder on this Lord's Day.

For those who do not think that salvation is the free Grace of God. God plus nothing.

Ponder these two statements, if you will:

-- When a man teaches that Salvation is a cooperation between God and man......It is like teaching that the clay is in cooperation with the potter, as to how it will be formed.

-- Philosophers say: Free Grace makes man nothing more than a mere puppet on a string.....But the recipients of Grace reply, This is better than making God a puppet on a string, of man's free will.
The philosophy above sounds neat ,but overlooks one thing . God has decided this is how man is saved . To freely believe on Jesus for salvation. Even more this pleases him . We should be more interested in What the bible says ,pleases Him than what Augustine decided all subsequent followers of him would teach also . You are blindly parroting Augustine, Calvin, Beza , Edwards, Pink , Piper , sproul , White, MacArther, washer ect

Do you think knowing Jesus if someone prayed and asked for him to come into thier life and be present in thier heart and lead them . He would answer that call from a believer ?
I believe God is gracious.
But building up people based on lies is not good. To leave out the lordship aspect of salvation is to leave out the part that saves you.

The voyage of ones salvation would be better served from the start in the understanding and full embrace of obedience to Christs lordship as the means of ones salvation, receiving the Spirit of God and the resulting holiness which so many many struggle with.
Too many end up uncertain in regards of their salvation because the lacking of understanding and up front commitment it the lordship of Jesus out of love as of our resulting slavery to righteousness in place of our slavery to sin.

I thank you for defending Jesus Christ's Lordship. This new junk that is being preached about knowing Jesus as Savior but that He may not be Lord in your life is pure junk.

Act 9:4-5 and he fell upon the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest:

Well clearly this is before
Why don't you give us the proper interpretation of what this verse said then?
John 3.35 35The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
john 3.16
16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 7.39
But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
For the sake of time . Just type in ' given ' in blue letter or bible hub and see what is given after John 3 .35 . Its all given (from heaven ) in order that whosever may believe and be saved .

The Gospel is not a promise to commit . Its not a job offer . Its not a promise of obedience. This is why we have church goers, but not people who have recieved Jesus ( John 1.12 ) False converts all thinking so long as they do good , get baptised , follow the rules they think that's christianity .Lordship salvation is the biggest deception within Christianity .

Question: "Is it biblical to ask Jesus into your heart?"

Answer: “Do you want to be saved? Then just ask Jesus to come into your heart.” While this statement is not anti-biblical, neither is it expressly biblical. The wording generates a mental image that can easily lead to wrong impressions, especially among children, who tend to take things literally. Plus, the exhortation to “ask Jesus into your heart”—if that’s the whole message—leaves out some important things such as repentance and faith. The Bible does mention the fact that, in some sense, Jesus resides in our hearts: Paul prayed “that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith” (Ephesians 3:17). But Paul is writing to believers who had already received Christ. The parallel prayer in verse 16 is that God “may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being.” There is no evangelistic appeal in the context of Ephesians 3. Paul is not telling the Ephesians to “ask Jesus into their hearts”; he is simply elevating their awareness that Jesus is present within them through the Holy Spirit.

The verse from which the “ask Jesus into your heart” concept is usually taken is Revelation 3:20, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” Notice, however, that the verse does not mention the heart at all. Neither does the individual ask Jesus to do anything; rather, Jesus asks us to do something. In context, Jesus is speaking to the church of Laodicea, who was in desperate need of repentance (verse 19). The Laodiceans had effectively excluded Jesus from their fellowship, and the Lord was seeking to restore that fellowship. The passage does not deal with a person calling on the Lord for salvation.

The idea of Jesus “coming into your heart” is nowhere used in any preaching in the Bible. The gospel is the good news of Jesus’ death and resurrection for the forgiveness of our sin (1 Corinthians 15:3–4). Gospel presentations in the Bible exhort a proper response to that message: believe (John 3:16; Acts 16:31), receive (John 1:12), and repent (Acts 3:19). We are to change our minds about our sin and about who Christ is, believe Jesus died and rose again, and receive the gift of eternal life by faith. None of the apostles ever told someone to “ask Jesus into your heart.”

Often, the exhortation to “ask Jesus to come into your heart” is used as a simple way to say, “Ask Jesus to enter your life” or “Allow the Lord to take control.” If this is done in the context of presenting the whole gospel, then there’s no harm done. But before a person is invited to “ask Jesus into your heart,” he or she should understand sin and its penalty, the payment Christ made on the cross, and the reality of Christ’s resurrection. In fact, referring to salvation as Jesus’ “coming into your heart” might even help a person understand that the Spirit of Christ comes to indwell the soul (see John 14:17). Still, it is always best to use the terminology the Bible uses. “Ask Jesus into your heart” does not fully communicate what is actually occurring at salvation.

When sharing the gospel, we should be careful what we say and how we say it. Even the word believe can be misleading if it is presented as mere intellectual assent (agreeing that certain facts are true) instead of as trust (relying on those true facts). Judas Iscariot believed certain facts about Jesus, but he never trusted Jesus for salvation. Salvation is not about believing a list of facts. Salvation is not about asking Jesus to come into your heart. Salvation is about trusting in Jesus as your Savior, receiving the forgiveness He offers by grace through faith. Salvation is about being made new through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5).

Thoughts?
Asking Jesus into one’s heart is as Biblical as it gets. Or is it better for someone to ask Dionysus into their heart?

Well I meant no offense your op inspired the question

I am sensing you may benefit from these verses

“Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.

And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.

And he spake this parable unto them, saying, What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.

I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭15:1-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

righteous people can’t accept Jesus thier too busy examine everyone else’s sins to accept his words and learn about mercy sinners however who acknowledge their sins before him are a different story they will hear the gospel

“And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.

The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other:

for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭18:9-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Be careful about determining who Jesus will have and won’t have were all at different stages of life , have different issues and struggles , some start as a pastors son another is born and abandoned and never hears much about God until later in life .

judgement belongs to Jesus he’ll decide who is accepted our place is to witness that he is the Lord and savior and his word that will lead believers into righteousness but the message is not be perfect and then he will have you those folks reject a guy calling for repentance and turn him on others

Free Grace, does not argue against what Christ said. It argues for the reasons we can believe on Him and why we can't.

Joh 3:27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it have been given him from heaven.
so all the things he said we need to do such as treat others with love , forgive others , repent of our sinful ways ect that’s all included right ?

I thank you for defending Jesus Christ's Lordship. This new junk that is being preached about knowing Jesus as Savior but that He may not be Lord in your life is pure junk.

Act 9:4-5 and he fell upon the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest:
he is the lord that’s the point the lord is just as he presents himself in the gospel look into it and see if he goes around telling sinners they aren’t wanted or welcome .

Our lord isn’t that way he loves and accepts us at our worst and heals and makes us right where we are wrong. If you never first acknowledge your sins you can’t really appreaciate the gospel Of our LORD

“And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee's house, and sat down to meat.

And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment, And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.

And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.

There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty. And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?

Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most.

And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged. And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman?

I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head. Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet. My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment. Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little. And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven. And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also? And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭7:36-50‬ ‭KJV‬‬

there’s a lot of sinners who need to be loved by Jesus before they will ever accept his call to repentance and righteousness. Notice it’s always the Pharisees the strict law keepers who are always noticing “ hey the messiah wouldn’t deal with sinners what’s this crap”

and Jesus always has an opposite answer for them ? The gospel is for those who are willing to acknowledge their own Sins and learn the other sinners are the same as them . So we don’t judge each other .

to believe his word will lead to righteousness because he is our Lord indeed

Clearly.
No offense brother.

The message is believe and put your faith in Jesus and obey him in that faith and you will be saved.
The quality of your past and the quality of your obedience is never the issue, God looks at the heart.
Who you belong to is is all that matters.
You belong to the one you love trust and obey
Most still belong to themselves because they love trust and obey themselves as evidenced by their actions.

Some are in the process of coming to submit everything in faith to Jesus's Lordship because they do believe and do belong to Him.
"All those who have their hope in Him, purify themselves just as He is pure"

yes amen . There’s probably some here who are grown up , some who are makin there way , some who are struggling and Fallin, some who are just hearing about the cricifixion and their sins . Still others who have never really head anything about anything .

you are a hundred percent correct obedience is key for a maturing Christian . Or one who wants to grow up and know the lord personally.

But some like myself about say ten years ago I was not the same as I am now , but even then I believed everything I heard I wasn’t yet able to grasp the truth and love the lord his way ( John 14) but my heart was filled with the grace I needed at my worst .

those things get into a person like I was and the things like jesus calling all the weary and burdened to him , forgiving every sinner he came in contact with , loving them first at thier worst and then leading them home because when you really feel that love from Jesus that hope of eternal life

when you know who it is who has done all this and said all these promises about living after this world forever in a perfect world and you begin to believe and pursue him

. All of the things about obedience that are on your heart and a good part of your witness At this time in your life , make better contact if grace and truth are expressed together .

Jesus shows the fullness of Gods love for sinners on the cross , but before the cross it was on full display as well. Sinners are doomed without Jesus and also his teachings and many displays of his compassion his patience and kindness with sinners

not without dire warnings of judgement , not without instruction , but so full of The Fathers Love are the gospels so full of wisdom

to believe his word will lead to righteousness because he is our Lord indeed
The very nature of the Pharisee is hypocrisy.
As if knowing God and being his servants.
As if submitted to his Lordship.
But in fact their actions and their heart testifies against them.
Modern day Pharisees all everywhere, they claim to know God but continue in sin, many claim it is impossible to do otherwise.
They claim to represent him yet you can feel the lack of love and the resulting deadness in their words.

By this we can be sure that we have come to know Him: if we keep His commandments. If anyone says, “I know Him,” but does not keep His commandments, he is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But if anyone keeps His word, the love of God has been truly perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him: Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus walked

To know God was once a really really big deal. It meant you had been perfected made holy.
The love of God (Christ) which we obey brings about holiness and godliness in us.
We all are headed there as those who have committed themselves to His lordship.

There is a starting point and there is a finish line.
We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. The one who does not love remains in death.

The result of our obedience to the true nature of His lordship should look like this:
Through Him you believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and glorified Him; and so your faith and hope are in God. Since you have purified your souls by obedience to the truth so that you have a genuine love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from a pure heart.

its a weird way to express it.
It would be more biblical to say God change my heart (from stony to flesh) than have Jesus enter your heart.

The only biblical reference thats similar is actually when SATAN enters Judas heart in Luke 22:3-6

His lordship is one of love.
The authority of God and Christ are rooted in His nature that is Love.
The lordship we submit to is His love.
Becoming rooted and grounded in love is the first part of every believers walk.
But that is also based on obedience to his lordship, for example Baptism as a first step of faith.
But you know love through trusting and giving yourself to it.
You experience love by letting it have you.
Faith is required to receive love.
Our obedience to his Lordship is a matter of Faith to receive the Love of God through Jesus Christ.

it is just so amazing.

I think of Jacob who fought with God and lost big time, but then he clung to God in faith in Gods loving kindness and won.

its a weird way to express it.
It would be more biblical to say God change my heart (from stony to flesh) than have Jesus enter your heart.

The only biblical reference thats similar is actually when SATAN enters Judas heart in Luke 22:3-6
Ouch.
Is what it is.
