extremely humbled and very thankful,

HEB 13:12.
Wherefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered without the gate.
13.
Let us go forth therefore unto Him without the camp, bearing His reproach.
14.
For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.
15.
By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name.

Im alive. Thankful, happy to see children reading.
The covid is on our doortstep so dont know how much longer school will be in weve got two more weeks.
when you live in a big city, and work in schools everyone is kinda like family, although of course not everyone gets along, but you try and work together, and look after each other, because everyone is in the same boat.

The boat isnt like the titanic though, where the first class passengers got on the lifeboats first over the second and the third class mostly drowned, but sometimes I think it kind of is like that for others racing to get ahead but ignoring the iceberg completely.

Our boat is kinda more like a big canoe going down a river everyone paddling and not always sure whats ahead.

Your questions make me think of the wonderful old Hymn:

It Is Well With My Soul

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

It is well, with my soul,
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blessed assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul.

It is well, with my soul,
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

Yah we have had classes to quarantine but they are back in school. School seems to be going good for our public schools. Of course, we are homeschooling and that is going good too.

Thank you,

Back and nerve pain has stayed at a steady 4 on the scale to 10 so I am thankful it is not worse.
I'm doing good for the most part. Mostly working which is good during this season of job loss. Kids and wife doing good. My wife is homeschooling and the kids are doing great.

Hope all is well with you and thanks again for praying.

Thank you. God has used my weaknesses to reveal other strengths so in many ways the pain brought forth life. I would not of been a Christ follower if it wasn't for the pain that brought me to a state of hopelessness and weakness. A moment like Elijah in the wilderness. God picked me up and said for when you are weak, I am strong.

Most definitely we are very blessed to have such a wife and mother to my kids and me. She goes above and beyond.

canoe has become a bit crowded now as Ive had to take on extra...

DP had announced because of renovations the library is going to be turned into a combined classroom for a month. I wasnt happy! esp when there looked like two empty classrooms in the school aready and. a hall that could be used.

hmm could we send this class to someones home to be homsechooled if they had a big enough home?!

unfortunately I dont know if anyones home in my area would be big enough to take around 40-50 children. I think if we lived in a richer area we could send them to someones elses mansion or holiday home though wouldnt that be cool for a month. But no, we need to squash them into the library and that means no other classes can use it. arrgh

Wonderful questions, but I am always puzzled why we don't ask these questions of each other in church.

I already know the answer: It is because it is easier to ask them on an electronic forum like Christian Chat (Thank God for this forum, by the way. It's the only time I can find someone willing to talk about God. I can't even do that in church!).

For example, if I were to respond by saying, "I am struggling with anger all the time," how would you react?

"I've lost my wife, my son, my business, and my best friend," I would continue. "And all this happened before COVID-19!"

You see, most people in a church setting are never going to ask those questions. It is easier to just say, "Hi, how's it going," while passing the other person by as quickly as possible.

Going to "church" is an event. It has evolved into being on par with going to the movies or sitting in on a city council meeting. You would never ask the above questions in these settings because they are too personal; and being in a church is no different.

But there are still those gullible people like me who go up to the front after the service is over, or we fill out the little prayer request card. After spilling your guts out to the Head Supreme CEO Pastor, you receive a canned, 90-second prayer. And then, of course, the inevitable, "I'll be praying for ya!" TAKE IT AWAY, GOD!

I'm not saying this to dress you down in any way. In fact, kudos for having the guts to ask these questions, even if it is on an electronic community forum. It shows you that you are a true Christian brother who cares more about people than religion.

I just hope that whenever someone gives you an honest, heartfelt answer that you don't just respond with, "I will pray for you."

I would hope that you would be one of the very few who are kind enough to follow up, even if it's only once.

why we don't ask these questions of each other in church.
Well I believe probably due to trust and time. It often takes a good bit of time to talk about deep subjects. But it also involves trust. Not everyone is connected good in church or knows everyone on that close of level. Our church does small group studies where we do grow closer to others in small group settings.

I would hope that you would be one of the very few who are kind enough to follow up, even if it's only once.
Actually it is funny because I often remember those people who open up more than others and do follow up but they are typically surprised I remembered and then me and my wife like to cook them supper or give them some gift of encouragement.

It is unfortunate that many of us are so afraid to let our struggles and baggage be seen until it is too late and the mental breakdown occurs, the marriage fails, the kids make poor decisions, the disease gets extremely obvious and no longer able to hide, or the doubts and pride leads to a believers apostasy.
