I created a venting thread in hopes that we could cut down on the negativity, haha. Since we are christians and are supposed to talk about what is good, noble, pure.... I thought we needed a thread to post the little things that make us smile, lift our spirits, give us a break from the yuckiness of everyday life.

Mine:

Dew on flowers
Children laughing
Watching a small child learn something new, like tying shoes
Pretty much any baby animal
Old folks holding hands and doing sweet things for one another
And older child helping/protecting a younger child
People who let you in during rush hour
People walking their dogs
Watching horse run
Beautiful clouds and sunsets
The sound of a river or ocean
The scent of approaching rain
The sound of raindrops on my skylight
Chocolate
High heels
Praise music....especially when I wake up hearing one in my spirit
Sappy love songs and poetry
Cards/letters from friends

Most of yall know I am a teacher. I love to listen to the children talk about random stuff. Its so funny to here how they interact with each other. This morning I found a note from a 1st grader this is what it said.

Lesther, Khadija is breaking up with you.

Then there was a pair of lips at the bottom.

*DOGGIES!!! Any size, age, or shape-except those crested hairless ones... They kind of gross me out...
*Jamming on my bass with some friends/a good group of musicians
*Seeing children get lost in singing worship :D
*Getting to know young people and being the kind ear that they need, and being an encouragement to them :)
*Figuring out how to play another musical instrument
*Sitting at the waterfront and spending time with God in His beautiful creation
*Hearing my brother laugh hysterically like a little girl when you tickle him or play games with him (he's a 24 yr old with Autism and is nonverbal-he's like a little kid in a 6'4" body. He's my best friend) :)
*Getting dorky stuff that's from my youth-like the teenage mutant ninja turtle cake I had on my 21st b-day and my super mario bros. paraphernalia
*Having a new revelation while studying scripture :D
*Spontaneous, random, crazy road trips and outings with friends!!!
*Getting an encouraging message/text from someone
*Getting a new pair of obnoxiously colored shoes
*Playing on worship team and being a part of leading God's people into an intimate place of worship through music with Him :)
*Jazz music
*White water rafting! So far I've gone up to class IV rapids-I always have a huge grin on my face every time! :D
*Playing classic Nintendo
*Seeing the look on someone's face when they've just been blessed by something like someone's actions or words
*Being able to help or be of service to someone

That moment when I get the mix...juuuuust right. (I'm a sound guy, and when things click and the crowd is going nuts...)

The smell of race gas, sound of a big V-8...and the smell of burning rubber.

The next curve, the next hill, the next surprise on a road trip.

Waiting for sunset on my parents' front porch, hearing my dad talk about nothing.

Seeing four deer in the backyard yesterday morning...hearing one of them sneeze.

I know this is a positive thread but I am gonna breifly be a Negative Nancy because I don't like deer anymore because they eat all the tulips in the neighborhood. Do you know where the best deer are found?... On my plate. hahahahahaha

I am going on a roud trip soon to your neck of the woods Nuke. Well kinda close, I will be outside of Memphis for a singles conference at the end of June.

:D It's made me smile ever since i first started playing in church a few months after I became a Christian :) I seriously love it-the fact that I'm blessed with the chance to use the gift God has given me to serve Him and His people really does make me speechless...Plus it's a LOT of fun on the rare occasions that I get to break out the trombone instead of my usual bass, guitar, or congas, lol!

Nah, the humor comes through great written down! I read this earlier today and laughed or smiled every time I remembered it later. :)

Seeing the sun lower and lower from the sky, dropping, slowly, until its barely there , going under the sea line, setting colored, extraordinary shades. And, poof! Gone. Darkness.

God is sooo good :)
