Hi having read all the comments here I get the sense that you haven't got to that place where you can properly discern certain types of sin and a lot of people have told you the 100%truth.Now how you feel about the things you are told which is the truth is something I pray God renews in time. There ar e certain things that dont feel like sin even though they are and the bible talks about sexual immorality which you should look into if you genuinely want to follow jesus and ask him to open your eyes so that you can see.
A womans/mans sexuality-nakedness ect is something God intended to be seen and enjoyed by a spouse and no one else.Soft porn, hard porn, advertising, movies ect all promote sexualised imagrey every where and this is actually a sin.Having pic of naked women to look at as posters is still a sin and this kind of visual exposure to such images is against Gods call for Christians to be holy.I am surprised that person couldn't explain to why it was wrong.Yet one day I hope very son you will remember this forum and will realize that everyone told you the truth. We all Grow at different paces and are at different stages in our Christian growth.May God open your eyes to the truths about sexual purity.🙏🏻👍👍

Just to be clear on this: women who pose semi naked or in lingerie for the purpose of monetary gain (in other words to put food on the table) are sinners as is anyone that then views this for their own enjoyment?

Nothing is evil of itself save the evil one... we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, the temporal things seen .
So what you are saying is that one can commit any heinous crime and dismiss it as not being evil, just because Satan is the evil one. What utter rubbish.

Michael got the answer to his question about the necessity for the crucifixion of Christ. But he has other issues besides that. And your remark above is totally unhelpful and misleading.

There is much evil in this world (even without the influence of Satan). There are evil men doing evil deeds even as we speak. And sin and evil are simply increasing, and will increase, until the Second Coming of Christ.

Hi Michael,

I'd still like to know your answer to my question -- would you be alright with your girlfriend, wife, sister, or mother having her walls covered with pictures of men with barely anything covered?

I understand what you're saying in that it can be tough to find a church to settle into and to find legitimate spiritual guidance -- I've spent a lot of time trying to find a church, and hopefully a mentor, as well.

As you go about your Christian walk, you'll learn other key principles of faith as well (forgive me if you already know this one) -- "Love your neighbor as yourself," -- Matthew 22:39.

God commands us to love and respect others as we would ourselves. I know you said you see these nearly-naked women as just posing for the camera, but another Christian principle throughout the Bible is to live life modestly and not cause one another to sin, nor are we to be putting ourselves on display.

Loving our neighbor as ourselves also entails respect -- each woman in these photographs is someone's sister, daughter, mother, aunt, etc. I'm not sure if you would want to see your male friends with nearly naked pictures of sisters, mother, or other female relatives on their wall and saying they don't have a problem with it? And yes, I know these women (assumedly) choose to pose for these pictures, but that doesn't mean they're making the right decision by doing so.

I once had a college class in public speaking, and one of the guys was exceptionally good-looking and well-known in the community, as he'd been a star athlete as well. One of his speeches talked a little bit about his modeling career. Now, I have no idea what he was modeling -- he was a respectable person and I doubt he was doing anything sleazy. But I know for myself, I would have felt extremely awkward having some commercially printed picture of him on my wall, even fully clothed.

I know this was a bit of an exception (most will never meet the models in the pictures,) and some will say it's different for guys because they are "visual" (I always like to say, "If men are visual, does that mean women are blind?") I've never put pictures of people on my walls (except family and friends,) and to me, this encounter just made me aware that there is a real person behind the photograph, and God wants us to respect them as a person. I also went to high school with a girl who did some local modeling, and hated it because she said all that's cared about is your appearance -- no one even regards that you're an actual person. She eventually became an attorney.

I know someone might choose to pose for these pictures on their own, and therefore choose to bare their bodies in front of the camera, but as stated earlier, just because they aren't making the right decision themselves doesn't mean we have to support it.

Best wishes in your journey and I hope God directs you to the right people to help you along the way. :)
Thank you for a lovely non judgmental sensible detailed reply-thank you for taking the time to write it. I can see you are just trying to help 😊👍 Firstly i do have a sister 16 years my junior. When she was a teenager she wanted to try modelling and needed to get a good portfolio of pictures taking to send of. I was in a financial position to help her with this and did so-willingly and respectfully with the aim of helping her future. She however after me paying for the photos 😠 decided this wasn’t for her and that it made her feel creeped out and insecure posing for theses pics (all fully clothed May i add-as she was only 15) which I’m assuming she destroyed Or are at the bottom of her cupboards somewhere 🤷‍♂️ As for as if i was dating someone and they had posters of hunks everywhere-the only problem i would have is my own insecurities about my own image (I’m not exactly the rock 🤣) I do not agree with your assertion that someone who has made the decision to be a model (clothed or otherwise) is making the wrong Decision-that is your opinion but I feel a totally inappropriate and blanket statement to make (It could be pose for the camera 📷 or your kids go hungry) not everything is that black and white. The modelling industry is Run by disgraceful greedy group of people i know that much. But they’re the A 🕳 🕳 at the top not the individuals (although some models are riddled with vanity and selfishness) I have 3 nieces aged 13,14 and one who turns 16 next week 🎂 🎁 wants to be an actress/singer-I would have no problem financially supporting her with a photography portfolio as I did my sister. God bless you-he blessed all of us-all beautiful in our own way (well maybe not hitler and Brady)

I can't believe we respond to such an illegitimate post :sneaky:
You mean you don’t think a struggling Christian ✝️ having doubts, difficulties and different opinions to you is a legitimate subject worth helping. You my dear are the sort of narrow minded person that prevents Christians from ever fulfilling their potential. Very sad ☹️

That would be because it's so ubiquitous and difficult for most people and easy to stumble in.

There's a bit more freedom for the unmarried person than it is for the married, but remember, it's the utterances of the heart that defiles a man. The potential sin in looking isn't just eventual lusting that enters through the eyes, it really is us selfishly objectifying another person for our own enjoyment instead of always looking at their best interests in supreme love. Per example, someone can even bare themselves to be looked at and want attention, which doesn't mean they're in their best frame of mind and that one should look. Which is also why marriage intimacy isn't sin, as you have dedicated yourself to the well being of the person you're married to, to that level. When you have given your heart and soul to never leave someone no matter what, and would give life for that person, then it is indeed right to gaze upon that person and enjoy every aspect of their being, who also loves you and finds it acceptable, as much as you please.

Whether you're deceiving yourself here, only you know, and that's something for you to work out with the Holy Spirit. The fact that you even brought it up does attest of your doubts, because if you were not doubting, you wouldn't have brought it up.
And Of course we know that there’s never any sinful activity or wrong doing in marriages 😔 are you seriously trying to suggest that any looking with sexual thought in mind or any sexual activity is wrong except between two people who have had a big day a reception and a 🍰 I have 3 siblings all in long term relationships-none of them married none of them perfect. The idea 💡 that you wait until your 👰 night to discover whether you are sexually compatible or not could doom the whole marriage.

Let me just to be clear to you too.Regardless of what financial dynamic there is for their reasons for doing it..it is a sin..and those who view it also sinning...period!
Let me ask you this..Do you want to be right with God or not?Are you willing to make the effort and stop looking at such things in order to be right with God?
I leave the spiritual responsibility with you bro..ther were many thing I used to do as a young Christian which I didnt really think was wrong then as I grew my eyes were opened up to things.

Bring it to the Lord bro.....I had dreadful anger problems for yrs,I hated the way I was,...the Lord worked in and through me and showed me where the source was....went through a lot of healing....in a much better place now, slowly I have learnt to submit to God ,instead of trying to sort it out on my own..He wants us to rely on Him solely.

Don’t beat yourself up over it,talk to God about it,he knows your heart.

That’s my belief,we have a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit, remember He is a person.and He LOVES you!.❤️

You did not answer my question you evaded it and went into another subject. My question still stands which is why did you emphasise they are not married, because you emphasized it, not me. Aka what difference does it make to you, that they are not married, and why does it make it okay as opposed to them being married? And why would their husband, if they are married, have more rights than you to look at them? What difference does it make to you, especially since you just added that sexual compatibility is key and "a big reception and a cake" makes no difference? Thanks

Not dismiss it but rather point to the source. There laws governing.

Some things I take literally like Satan a spirt, is a murderer from the beginning . The evil one . He began his serial murdering spree with Abel .He is the spirit behind all evil .

God the author and finisher of good

Hi Michael,

Thank you for taking the time to answer! :)

I want to clarify -- I have absolutely nothing against modeling/acting as a career as long as it's carried out according to one's Christians beliefs and convictions, which, as I'm sure you know, is very tough to do in that kind of industry.

The high school friend I had mentioned modeled clothes (not underwear or swimwear, just normal, everyday clothes) in local ads you would get in the newspaper. She was fully dressed. But there is a definite choice in which jobs you take on (as in most careers.)

I had an ex who was chosen by a model scout and went for some test photos. I don't know if the (male) test photographer had anything nefarious in mind, but the guy taking the pictures asked my then-boyfriend to strip down a bit and show off his upper body in order to be more "sexy" for the camera. Needless to say, my then-boyfriend left, and modeling did not go any further for him.

I understand that beauty can be a means of a provision, but as Christians, there are still definite guidelines to follow as to how one should utilize their beauty, whether male or female.

I apologise for not answering the question. I also apologise if you perceived what i said as marriage not meaning anything-I believe the opposite but like when buying a car 🚗 you have a test run first before committing to a purchase. If they are not married-I’m not committing adultery in my 💖 If they are then i am-I fully accept that. But I don’t need posters to fall to that sin. I commit adultery in my 💖 every time I turn the tv 📺 on so..

Then you are a fool and if anything is disgusting is your attitude to the wisdom of God being offered to you.
I had already sensed that you are unwilling to submit to God in this area of your life and although you talk about a struggling christian in this area. You are NOT struggling at all..you are perfectly happy doing what you are doing and are in a deceptive rebellion to whatever advice or Godly counsel offered to you..You are offended by the truth and nothing more.
There's nothing more to be saying to you..
I ask you this question..if you were to die right now are you sure you know where you would be going?
I leave you with that thought
