What place does works have in the life of a Christian?

Maybe if you read the verse I posted you'll understand the context as it applies to what you posted above.
He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
For those, (*the sinners in the whole world)whom he foreknew. (*because God is omniscient of course he foreknows all things) He also predestined(*Jesus figures prominently in the OT and the plan of salvation is referred to there as well) to become conformed to the image of His Son,so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren.(*other versions use the word, brothers=Greek:Adelphos. Jesus was not an only child though he was the only child in Mary and Josephs family to have God as his father.Further, Jewish culture considers all members of the nation to be kindred. All Jewish males are brothers one to the other, all Jewish females are sisters one to the other, regardless of blood lineage. Furthermore, being God is creator of all things which of course includes humanity, God is the father of all and we are all kindred one to the other. Which is why so many of Jesus teachings tell us to love our neighbor as our self. We are one family. )

You're arguing for your personal position as to what scripture says and presumably from a personal relationship with Christ standpoint.
Which makes my question valid as you presume to insist Christ died to save many, not all. Therefore, as a Christian arguing that position, it is relevant in asking you which one you believe you are. Since myself and another person here have shared scripture that pertain to all as part of God's salvation plan and whosoever among the all believes shall be saved.
Adding this too: Interestingly enough, the scriptures, plural, do say that Jesus was the unblemished lamb that took the sins of the whole world upon himself on the cross.
If God took the sins of the whole world to the cross, an argument could be made for the whole world being saved from their sins. Being a higher power believed in us in order to extend his grace in that respect. Whereas we, a lower consciousness, would be unable to appreciate it in our present state. Many arguments can arise when debating what scripture is telling us.

Not a dead Christian.
Christian that still live on earth, must love other. Most of the time love mean helping other, for some case, mean sweet and doing nasty work, helping sick elder to clean their wound, some time smell, it may work to earn money to buy food for the poor.
Love is product of the Holy Spirit in a Christian and may create a lot of work for those who able.
How about living Christian that is sick and not able to help other?
Nothing such that, if you in bed, poor you still able to pray for other and pray is verb.
Salvation by faith and loving work is the manifestation of faith.

This says it all.
Some of the responses to the scriptures about God choosing who he gives the gift of salvation to is amazing. We are assured that God loves all, that His invitation to accept Christ in faith is for all, scripture assures us of this over and over. There is no room for doubt that, if we go to the Lord for forgiveness of our sins His response will be salvation.
Scripture also tells us that people who do not repent, who are willful sinners are never chosen to enter the kingdom of the Lord. It is scripture.
Just one scripture is in Hebrews 10:26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. 28 Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses
Yep, as a sinner I wish I can do what ever I want and still save, but scripture say something else.
