Did the Jews also had to keep the law in the old covenant?
The law never saved anyone, because no one kept the law, Paul showed this in his letter to the galations

The Holy Spirit within a person will not reveal spiritual truths to a person who is built up with pride. That may be your downfall in understanding the truths in the doctrine of Jesus.
Same could be said of you

That scripture is saying........” He “......will convict the world....it does not say he is working in the non believer, that is your own interpretation of it.
How odd you do not accept the Holy Spirit is working in people/non-believers to cause conviction of sin.

When the Holy Spirit convicts people of their sin, He represents the righteous judgment of God (Hebrews 4:12). There is no appeal of this verdict. The Holy Spirit not only convicts people of sin, but He also brings them to repentance (Acts 17:30; Luke 13:5). The Holy Spirit brings to light our relationship to God. The convicting power of the Holy Spirit opens our eyes to our sin and opens our hearts to receive His grace (Ephesians 2:8).

We praise the Lord for the conviction of sin. Without it, there could be no salvation. No one is saved apart from the Spirit’s convicting and regenerating work in the heart. The Bible teaches that all people are by nature rebels against God and hostile to Jesus Christ. They are “dead in trespasses and sins” (Ephesians 2:1). Jesus said, “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him” (John 6:44). Part of that “draw” to Jesus is the conviction of sin. source

concerning sin indeed, because they do not believe in Me;

If someone who does not believe is not a non-believer, what would you call them?

New born babes in Christ are, indeed, spiritual, being feed on the spiritual milk. They cannot understand the deep things of God until they have gradually grown into maturity by hearing, and being taught the full gospel. Isaiah 28;9-10 explains this process.
a fleshy ( carnal / natural, that's what ' fleshy means ) believer is not spiritual. Thats not how Paul uses that word . ' spiritual is hardly a word used for these carnal believers . We become ' Spirit - ual when we mature with the ' things of the Spirit . The Natural ( Calvinists are unable to understand the things of the Spirit because they have not matured yet into the ' things of the Spirit , because before they understood and read the bible were taken captive by Augustine's philosophy, which appeals to the ' fleshy ' believer .

I have posted that i disagree with your interpretation....so please don’t try to force me to see it your way....

Until God shows me differently, then I stand by my post....God,chooses,draws and quickens his children.my belief.

God brings us to repentance,we don’t bring ourselves, those whom he has chosen.
You also posted that specific scripture.

God works in non believers...where are these words in scripture?

What does Isaiah 28:13 have to say about the meaning and reason for what's written in verse 10?

I get the feeling vv 9-10 are often misused.

LOL. I gave Scripture that plainly shows non-believers are convicted by the Holy Spirit, but you reject it, and then pretend I am trying to force you to see it my way because you asked me to show you the Scripture, even after I already did. Don't expect me to respond again.

Those with eyes to see, see.

I do not see this,

a fleshy ( carnal / natural, that's what ' fleshy means ) believer is not spiritual.
since certainly the carnal believer can and does change and yes they are spiritual if they are indeed born again, however their mind it held captive in various ways.

But this is the person who needs to see it the most.

I do not think the natural man is equivalent to the carnal believer.

The natural man has not been regenerated.

Obviously, non-believers are not saved, and yet God is working in them none-the-less.
Here are your words...please show me where scripture says these words...thank you.

Aren’t we all still carnal after being born again..isn’t there a constant battle with the flesh and spirit.carnal is the flesh?

Sometimes I can actually feel myself fighting against the spirit in certain areas...which God now has control over,as I’ve submitted.no good fighting Him,,lol.

Being carnal means not living as a new creation in Christ.

And I would not presume to know the individual walk of various believers.

We speak wisdom, however, among them that are fullgrown: yet a wisdom not of this world, nor of the rulers of this world, who are coming to nought: ?

Gal 6

1¶Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
2Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
3For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

So you read " ye which are spiritual" as you with the Holy Spirit restore another with the Holy Spirit.

Here are your words...please show me where scripture says these words...thank you.
The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, of judgment, and of righteousness. The fist step, is convicting of sin.

Take Paul for example...He was convicted of sin on the road to Damascus. Paul thought he was doing God a service and working for him by persecuting the Christians.

However, what did Jesus say to him? Saul, Saul, why persecutest me? In this, Paul was convicted of his sin. The truth and his sin was laid bare before him.

This is conviction of sin, and the Holy Spirit does this for the whole world...

So can you see how, this God working in everyone to show everyone the truth. He convicts the world of sin, of judgement, and of righteousness. He let's us know that we need a Savior. Now, that does not mean that he is going to make everyone accept it, but the Holy Spirit convicts the whole world. No one will have an excuse.

Which sin does the Holy Spirit convict of ?
