God revealed to me the lies of secular MH, such as emotional pain being the result of chemical imbalances in the brain. I've been a licensed Social Worker for 20 years. I spent the last eight years practicing Christian MH, as the Lord has revealed it to me. This was far, far more effective than standard secular MH. Are there any clinicians and/or patients with experience in Christian approach to MH healing?

This forum is for suggestions on how to improve the site. Also, why do you have 2 dupe threads in the same forum? You don't need to make more than one. :)

Yes is the short answer.

Luke 8:35-40 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
35 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. 36 They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed.

37 Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and he went up into the ship, and returned back again. 38 Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying, 39 Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.

40 And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him.

Yes, with a four decades long testimony including two and a half decades long entrenchment in the "mental health (MH) system," both as a patient and working within.

I could go on for eternity on this subject, and will. I believe it, "Mental Health Ministries," is my calling and purpose. Is there anything specific I/we can field for you, OldeGuy4JESUS?

Mark 1:22-27 (AKJV)
22 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes. 23 And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out, 24 saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. 25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. 26 And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him. 27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.
Luke 9:49-50 (AKJV)
49 And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us. 50 And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.
Mark 9:38-40 (AKJV)
38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us. 39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me. 40 For he that is not against us is on our part.

John 7:5-7 (AKJV)
5 For neither did his brethren believe in him. 6 Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready. 7 The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.

re:
God revealed to me the lies of secular MH
The conclusion/summary is that "the mental health (MH) system" tries(?) to wage spiritual warfare without the Holy Trinity, the Holy Bible or the name, blood and stripes of Jesus Christ. Thus and therefore, MH hinders more than helps but frankly put, fails miserably and causes more harm than help all too often.

I stood up for no such thing. I simply stated that mods approved a duplicate post.

I am pro psychology and non-Christian, by the way.

Also it seems the OP has stopped logging on. Nor was he against psychology, but rather against a godless psychology.

Luke 7:39-50 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

39 Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner. 40 And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on. 41 There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty. 42 And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most? 43 Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged. 44 And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head. 45 Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet. 46 My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment. 47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little. 48 And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven. 49 And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also? 50 And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

Since you didn't actually respond to anything I didn't read any of what you said. Well you didn't say anything, actually. Just posted random scripture in outdated English. I'll pass.

Mental health can be summed up as "Faith in God"
Mental healing can be summed up in "Repentance"

One thing interesting to note in the Bible is that Jesus Christ only healed those who were repentant or have suffered enough for their past inequities as to become repentant. That's why Jesus Christ told them their sins were forgiven. That is because sickness comes from unrepented sins. In other words, people could simply heal themselves by completely repenting of their past sins, including doing their best to right everyone who were wronged by their sins.

In any case, obviously anyone who denies God, the creator who created them, the all powerful almighty who could easily bring destruction upon them should he choose (as in Old Testament stories), is crazy, sick, mentally ill, and mentally handicapped. Think of them as a broken computer. No matter what goes in, garbage comes out. As such, the MH industry has been completely crazy since it has been godless in its entirety. They have been what Jesus Christ described as the blind leading the blind.

So, the MH industry oughta be scrapped completely and redone from scratch with only this simple MH check: "Do you believe in God?" and only this MH treatment: "Repent"

Godspeed.

Everybody needs to love and be loved. That's what heals the mind. And the thoughts you think, are the thoughts you're going to keep thinking. Neural network is constantly being reinforced and updated. We choose. 10 years ago it seemed impossible to me to not hate myself. I refuse to be a slave to my own psyche.

Vitamin D3 resolved a lot of my seasonal depression (I was feeling suicidal almost every winter), but just like sunshine is needed by the flesh and health to the bones, God is that same sunshine to the soul and health to its bones, to help you stand. Psychology is generally doing a poor job of helping people with mental issues and it takes forever to see progress. It does not solve the core problem which is insecurity of the psyche and lack of love.

But human is a holistic being composed of multiple layers. So any issue may be approached in more than one way. It's like on your computer, you can use your mouse, or keyboard shortcuts, or voice command, or messing with the motherboard to try and get the result you want. Some ways may be better or faster or more successful than others.

God has helped me a lot with anxiety and depression. I am not cured, but managing what is before me a lot better and always seeking peace in God when I face trouble. If someone wants to condemn me for not being cured yet and still facing challenges, they are welcome to cure me! If I was doing worse, I'd be taking medication to help me. Sometimes meds like antidepressants and antipsychotics may be necessary to help get some people out of the hole they're in. When people get better they can wean themselves off them. Rejecting medication isn't necessarily wise and can make the illness a lot worse. I know some members from this very site who would attest to that.

The man born blind from the Gospel proves you're wrong.
Until Jesus appeared to sort things out, probably many told him the things you just said and accused him and his parents both for him being born blind and not getting healed by faith. Yet Jesus made clear his disability didn't come because of sins.
There are many illnesses that come from having sinned but not all are borne from that reason.

Imagine if the apostles walked around and told all these lame and sick people who needed healing "you're doing it wrong" turned their backs and left.
Jesus Christ did tell people to abandon worldly things and seek the Kingdom of God only:

Luke 9:22-27 (WEB)

23 He said to all, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.
24 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it.
25 For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits his own self?
26 For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed, when he comes in his glory, and the glory of the Father, and of the holy angels.
27 But I tell you the truth: There are some of those who stand here, who will in no way taste of death, until they see the Kingdom of God.”

If that hurts your feelings, then you have your work cut out for you spiritually speaking. Besides, a person who lives by faith in God alone is not affected by people's words anyways, yet only by God's word. Jesus Christ's words only hurt those who are harboring demons:

Luke 4:33-36 (WEB)

33 In the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,
34 saying, “Ah! what have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God!”
35 Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent, and come out of him!” When the demon had thrown him down in their midst, he came out of him, having done him no harm.
36 Amazement came on all, and they spoke together, one with another, saying, “What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!”

Luke 8:26-33 (WEB)

26 Then they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is opposite Galilee. 27 When Jesus stepped ashore, a certain man out of the city who had demons for a long time met him. He wore no clothes, and didn’t live in a house, but in the tombs. 28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, “What do I have to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don’t torment me!” 29 For Jesus was commanding the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For the unclean spirit had often seized the man. He was kept under guard, and bound with chains and fetters. Breaking the bonds apart, he was driven by the demon into the desert.
30 Jesus asked him, “What is your name?”
He said, “Legion,” for many demons had entered into him. 31 They begged him that he would not command them to go into the abyss. 32 Now there was there a herd of many pigs feeding on the mountain, and they begged him that he would allow them to enter into those. Then he allowed them. 33 The demons came out of the man, and entered into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake, and were drowned.

Godspeed.

Imagine if the apostles walked around and told all these lame and sick people who needed healing "you're doing it wrong" turned their backs and left.
I just read your reply a second time. It's very inaccurate as I wasn't addressing lame or sick people yet merely having a discussion on a forum. Are you lame or sick!?

Also, I did not say "you're doing it wrong". I qualified everything with whether people had faith in God or not, and the rest followed from the Bible. I even mentioned how Jesus Christ healed someone by telling them they were forgiven. Here are the Bible verses if you don't believe me:

Luke 5:17-20 (WEB)

17 It happened on one of those days, that he was teaching; and there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every village of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. The power of the Lord was with him to heal them.
18 Behold, men brought a paralyzed man on a cot, and they sought to bring him in to lay before Jesus.
19 Not finding a way to bring him in because of the multitude, they went up to the housetop, and let him down through the tiles with his cot into the midst before Jesus.
20 Seeing their faith, he said to him, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.”

Last but not least, I didn't turn my back and leave. I gave people the solution, which is in the Bible, and which is what Jesus Christ and the Apostles DID do. It's telling people to repent. Again, if you don't believe me, here are Bible verses:

Luke 5:31-32 (WEB)

31 Jesus answered them, “Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick do.
32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

Andy, are you suggesting that anyone struggling with depression or grief does not seek Kingdom of God, or does not love God?
Even apostle Paul had "a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of satan to torment/harass him", I don't think it was a physical illness considering how many people he healed physically, but depression and grief, this is clear, at least to me, as day, from the context of his life. Paul was grieving and carried sadness that kept coming back, over all the people he helped kill as Saul, even though he knew he was fully forgiven.
I am not hurt, I am just upset for people who are seriously struggling and suicidal and how little compassion they can hope to find in some Christians. If you are not able to stretch out your hand and heal them, and you don't know how to build up in faith and encourage, I believe it is out of order to berate them for their struggles.
And seriously wow at your insinuations that I'm harboring demons......... I've seen you behave similarly to anyone who challenges your views so there's no reason for me to take it personally, you work it out with yourself

I think you do not know how devastating it is to be blind, lame or sick and the psychological and spiritual toll.
