You were the one who used John 11:25-26, and I gave that as an example why that passage is not written to us today.

We can learn from that passage of what Jesus did as a sign to Israel, but that passage is not for us to claim today.

John 11:25–26

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life.4 Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?

and this guojing thinks this does not apply to us

presents 'another Jesus' and refuses Jesus words. you can't make this up and it is a morass of denial of the truth

You are trying to make a case that James was writing to the orthodox jews?
Non messianic jews?

And ignore the words "church","elders" ,and " laying on of hands"......not to mention "sins forgiven "

Jews had sins forgiven through the priesthood.
No laying on of hands for healing.
Not only that but the first church was entirely Jewish

You have no case
both him and guojing know they have no case which is why the are on a loop of nonsense that portrays no understanding of basic concepts and doctrine and present another Jesus and frankly a mixed up 'god'

but you know that

God only knows if people who refuse to believe what Jesus says are saved or not. I don't know frankly

If you try and make James written to those Jews scattered in Acts 8, you have no case. When will the twelve tribes be scattered abroad? The twelve tribes meaning the entire nation of Israel? Tribulation my friend.

The first member of the church the bride of Christ was the apostle Abel, first recorded martyr also.

The faith of Christ the unseen the faith of God works in the believer. If we would have His faith in respect to mankind then we have blasphemed the holy name or authroity of God by which he moves us to both will and empowers us to do his good pleasure. Faith is a work . It cannot be separated. .

The loving commandment that works in the believer is to not to have that work of God's faith or labor of love in respect to the things seen, the temporal .

James 2:1 King James Version (KJV)My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. . . . . .(One self)

Looking to the end of the matter. . .

James 2:7 King James Version (KJV) Do not they "blaspheme" that worthy name by the which ye are called?

one word for you

D I A S P O R A

God's judgement on Israel's ongoing disobedience

either you cannot comprehend or it is too much effort for you to acknowledge what is actually written IN James and to whom it is written

The gospel of the kingdom was only meant for the Jews. It was concerning the good news of their promised kingdom of Israel being restored with the promised Messiah ruling on the throne of David.

The gospel of the grace of God is what Paul preached.
Ahem,
Acts 28:
23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

24 And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

25 And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by the prophet Esaias ,
26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:
29 And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.

30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,

31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord

Apparently Paul turned heretic and was preaching the kingdom of God like Jesus

Lol, the kingdom of God is not the kingdom of heaven. That is plain to see in Scripture.

doesn't know what the diaspora is. thinks the Jews never left 'the promised land'

has no knowledge of either biblical history or the history of the dispersion of the Jews and the bringing them back and the creation of Israel as a nation after WWII, the importance being that it is prophesied in scripture God would do that

is just dumbfounded about the whole think but still lol's at others

that's you Johnny

LOL! my behavior is quoting scripture and refuting the ridiculous claims that you and several others display

you are not above calling people names, as you well know, so maybe check your own behavior

I am not expressing opinions. you can post however you wish within the TOS, but be sure you cannot tell others how to post or what to say

we both know why you posted this. that person argues with just about everyone, and takes views that most do not agree with, so you are not doing yourself any favors by hiding behind her
They do the very thing they accuse others off. It’s sad. But happens far to often in CC.

James was written to this group? Really? Something doesn’t add up. It doesn’t sound like they are the same group.

Acts 8
4 Therefore
they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.
I know it sounds picky but the inward Jew, born again of the Spirit of Christ. Renamed as Christian. Not in respect to outward Jew according to the flesh.
Hello John and Garee, I apologize for not being clearer, it is to Jewish ~BELIEVERS~ scattered among the Nations that James addresses his Epistle, though again, I believe his Epistle was also meant (at least by God) for all believers of all times.

The Epistle of James was written after several events, both OT and New, had dispersed many among the Nations, Jews who were seeking to escape persecution, which includes NT believing "Diaspora" who brought the Gospel with them to those Jews who were already part of the Diaspora from as far back as the Babylonian exile (remember, for instance, that it was Timothy's mother and grandmother who led him to faith in Christ, and they were Hellenistic Jews, meaning that they were probably located in Alexandria, Egypt or in Syria).

And John, you are certainly correct about the Jews who ran for their lives from Paul's persecution following Stephen's martyrdom being part of the new Diaspora .. see also Acts 11:19.

So, James addressed his letter to Jewish believers/brothers in Christ who lived outside of Jerusalem, but the principles taught in James are for us all, both Jews and Gentiles.

I hope that clears things up? If not, let me know and I will try again.

God bless you!

Yes, I knew you would enjoy that comment. We all need to lighten up and not take things so personal.
like the way you understand the gospels, Acts, James and Peter?

they are well aware

they simply ignore it

the gospels, Acts, James and Peter are just taking up space in their Bibles

we have a least about 8 to 1 dozen people here who are doing their best to make the Bible just 'another book' and inspired by the Holy Spirit

Those books are either doctrine for the body of Christ or they are not. One cannot pick and choose which verses to obey and which verses to not obey.

I agree that a person cannot pick and choose

I don't think you understand the word doctrine either
