This is a great topic .
For me this is key . We have to rightly divide. That is to rightly look at what the bible says , not what some say the bible teaches .
We have to recognise the transitions , the major events, the authors intent, who the audience is , who the spokesperson is , is it old testament v new ? Is it before the cross or after ? is it before or after the resurrection and giving of the Holy Spirit? is it future ? is it to the jews ,the gentiles ? is it to the church ? is it tribulation? is it end times ? ect ect

you don't accept what scripture states. you reject the words believer, brothers etc

that is your problem. you have no excuse since you have been shown multiple times the truth of James being written to believing Jews

by now, it's just a sad joke on your part
Lol, again, Paul calls the Jews his brethren. They are his brethren according to the flesh. James is a Jew.

right because God is a little mixed up and the gospels should not even be in scripture since some people think they have meaning even for us today

did God somehow become a different god after the cross? has He changed from the old to the new? the Holy Spirit was there at creation. He didn't come into existence in Acts...oh but wait....you don't think any doctrine or teaching should come from Acts anyway

it's just a bunch of transitional stuff. nothing to see there

Jesus died for all. that includes Jews...even Palestinians go figure

If you're part of the twelve tribes scattered abroad during the tribulation, you would be wise to take this verse literally.
Ok I need to confront this you do realize the jews it's speaking of is not what your refering to right? The remnant jews are that of Israel in the tribulation if you study bible prophecy you see a continuing pattern the Jews lose their way and go through tribulation of some kind to be brought back to God they are his rebelious children I am part Jewish but I am in Christ those who are in Christ are not appointed to wrath

Yes, they are called the twelve tribes all throughout Scripture.

truth is truth, like a wheel😉

no

Jesus is the truth. you would know that if you thought the gospels were valid

those who practice and believe in reincarnation believe in the wheel of life

maybe that is what you believe? I don't know, but funny you would say that about a wheel

John here, along with a few others, do not believe the gospels are for Gentile Christians, Acts, James and Peter's letters are also cast aside

they are systematically devaluing all Jesus said

didn't know you were part Jewish :)

Is this true? how can you call it the word of God if you pick and choose which is true or not? But yeah my ancestors were portugues Jews who were given the choice to either accept the catholic faith or leave and they chose to leave and come to America

Of course, we are not to willfully reject any of the scriptures, as God meant them all to be for us to learn from and they are all true. But prayerfully "rightly dividing" (II Timothy 2:15) the scriptures, helps increase likelihood that we interpret the scriptures correctly. . II Timothy 3:16.
Here are some examples:
Rom 16:16
16 Salute one another with an holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you.
KJV
1 Cor 11:5
5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
KJV
Comment: The ones above, have to do with ancient customs that were proper to adhere to back then - but improper or not required in modern times, due to changes in customs. Though the head covering for women still stands, except it is no longer to wear a visible head covering to show her respect for the headship of her husband. Instead, it is to be in her heart.
Matt 5:48
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
KJV
Taken literally, this means to be completely sinless - which none of us are able to be. Though yes, we can be counted as perfectly sinless through the forgiveness that comes through Jesus' blood on Calvary.
Rom 3:10
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
KJV
James 5:16
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
KJV
Comment: The last 2 verses might appear contradictory to each other, due to their wording. But one needs to compare the scriptures in this to avoid being overly literal and to arrive at the correct meaning that these verses implies on the subject of righteousness.
Ex 20:8
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
KJV
Comment: If Christians thought that both the Old Testament laws and the New Testament laws both need to be obeyed - they'd find themselves failing to live according to the New Covenant, rather than the old one. The scriptures say that the old one is done away.
Actually, you neither want to take scripture literally nor metaphorically. Both are wrong!

You must take in the meaning God intended instead. It's like when you're talking to people, they say things with a meaning behind them. Their sentences may even be part literal part metaphorical, but in your heart you perceive the meaning directly that they intended. That's how you oughta read scripture too. Remember that they have been translated and changed a bit on their way to you, and yet that won't stop you from grasping that God intended for you.

Also, God sometimes lets us understand things at our own time, so even if you read the Bible yesterday, you might read it today and God would have you understand something new for your situation today. That is why it is important to continuously read the Bible.

Godspeed.

Yes, so who is James addressing as the ”twelve tribes”? We are to take that literal. All throughout Scripture this term is always a reference to the entire nation of Israel. To use it otherwise contradicts every other usage.

Then why do you think that the remnant Jews will suffer the tribulation? Did you not at one point when I mentioned I am part Jewish ask if I was looking forward to the tribulation?

There is now a remnant saved by grace in this Church age. They are included in the body of Christ and will not be here during Jacob’s trouble. During that time period, the Lord will turn Israel back to Himself, all Israel shall be saved.
