Ephesians 1:5-6. As he has chosen us from the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless before Him in love, Having predestinated us to adoption of sons by Jesus Christ to Himself...

Having predestinated is an aorist participle connected to the former clause, "he has chosen". Which means that the Election and predestination happened together before the foundation of the world, ie before time. Based on the foreknowledge of God as explained in Romans 8 and 2 Peter 1.

God doesn't plan things on the fly. Known unto God are all His works from the foundation of the world. Acts 15:18

16 After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:17 That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called*, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.

God knew He was going to adopt you, yes, you personally, before He made the world. EOREKNOWLEDGE. Because adopting you was one of His works, (actions)

You would only be telling them part of the story. You should read Romans 8:16 and Galatians 4:4-7 and tell them that when we believe, we are adopted as children, and then that adoption, the manifestation, unveiling, revealing of who the children of God are, and the receiving of the inheritance takes place at the resurrection or transformin of the body at the coming of Christ.
We become sons through the new birth .

Of course known unto God ..But let's not join certain ' isms ' ( we won't mention them by name, for fear of being reported 😉) in their philosophy about what God can and cannot do.

These are ' saints ' in Christ Jesus. There already saved and in him .
5Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
God has predestined to the adoption OF children the guatenteed but yet future redemption of the body. We know this because we've already been told in Rom 8 .23 what and when the Adoption is for those in him . Who is the preexisting elect before the foundation of the world ( Jesus ) Remember we don't exist before the foundation of the world. We need to be born by a mother first then at some point in time ( God of course being outside time ) We hear the Gospel and believe, NOW !!!! we become a son and as sons ( just like in Jewish context) we recieve the adoption as full grown sons all the inheritance at the later time .

Thats what happens when your placed into Him , in to an eternal being. ( in him ) Notice Paul s use of in him , in Christ, In Christ Jesus, ect its all over Ephesians. We're never Chosen outside of him . Once in him , now we are chosen...to be ....
verse 5 is separate from " chosen "
Calvinsm blends ' election and Predestination together as if its the same . No its clear what we ( just like when we type in our pre - destination into our sat nav ) are in him we become sons ,through the new birth ( john 1.12 ) And only then are we Guranteed that future romans 8.23

Prior to this we were all Eph 2 .11-12
Which would mean you were in him chosen before you existed , then lost at the fall and later back in him . Calvinisms philosophy is a bad back to the future movie gone wrong .

Amen, as paul said we have been given an inheritance incorruptable

as a child who is by birth given an inheritance, it is his already even though he has to wait to recieve it
Yes child by the new birth . Not adoption. John 1 .12 12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name
This is clear as to HOW we become sons . Through regeneration.

I was not born into gods family as a natural child
hence I was adopted
Does Calvinism scare you so much you have to fight this basic truth?

We recieve the Holy Spirit . Equating this as the ' Adoption ' is a mistake .

I see the idea in America ( the west) were we can adopt a child . But this is not the Jewish biblical meaning .
Yeah you have said that but I have seen no proof
especially when the Greek words paul used meant to be adopted as sons or made a son

That’s not the adoption. Your reading to much into it
we receive the Holy Spirit after the adoption. It is not the adoption

Romans 8:23 literally says the adoption is the redemption of the body. It literally says it is something we are waiting for. Somethings can be a little fuzzy in scripture, but not this one. It is very clear.

Yep
as apposed to the spirit of fear
whereby we cry out abba father (literally daddy)
What’s that have to do with the anointing of the spirit?
Eph1
13¶In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise ,
14which is the earnest ( Guarantee) of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Notice how this mirrors Romans 8.23 .
