Has anyone had any luck going into stores wearing a "breathable mask?"

well if you take the position that Adam was created with an immune system -- which you did feel qualified to assert, even that he had an amazingly great one to help him be immortal -- presumably that means the immune system is like, functioning and there for a reason. that reason is disease, sickness, viruses, bacteria, plagues, rot and decay.

so if you say Adam was born with an immune system, then don't you imply that death and disease were part of the unfallen creation called "very good" ?
either that or that he had one in anticipation of death and decay and deterioration through bacteria and viruses -- as tho sinless Adam on sinless Earth was created with a defense system designed to live in an world poisoned by sin.
Would it be viewed as negative or sin laden without opened eyes?

are you suggesting that God created a sin & death-poisoned universe from the beginning and that it was only called "very good" ((Genesis 1:31)) out of blind ignorance?

if so, i would say no -- that is a blasphemous, evil position in accord with 'the lie' of Satan calling God a sadistic murderer.
that would be agreeing with Satan, telling Eve that God doesn't want her to eat of the tree because God desires to keep her from having wisdom.

just a general FYI so everyone can make some sense of my lines of questioning & reasoning etc --

-- post believes creation was effectively 'poisoned' at Genesis 3:17 (('cursed is the ground for your sake')) and that this pronouncement of judgement represented a revolutionary & fundamental change in the physics & potentially biology of the universe. i suspect that, among other things, this was when entropy appeared in the universe and the 360-day ecclesiastical year described by the Torah and implicit in John's Revelation of Christ began to degenerate to the ~ 365.25d precessing solar year that we know today.
i would point at Romans 8:18-25 to substantiate this position.

Since when have we needed to protect others from ourselves? If others need to be protected, let the others who need protection and who believe in coronaviruses wear them. You'll quickly find the new corona-cult has few true disciples.
Yes, that is the problem that economists always consider in their analysis. We can be counted to always maximize our self interest but its very difficult to count on us to maximize other people's interest.

Wearing masks impose a private cost to the one wearing, but benefits are external. That is why there are laws to force us to do so, because if we maximize our self interest, few would wear masks.

The principle behind mask wearing is similar to herd immunity, if only a few people wear masks, you won't see any significant difference, but if almost all of us wear, you can count on the probability of transmission to be lower.

Did God want to keep her from wisdom or from knowing sin and what it entails?

Yes God anticipated the Fall (as is clear from Scripture) there He built the immune system into human physiology. It is a remarkable system.

I try to keep in mind that it's all about the glory of God and how he wants to work it out for his own good pleasure.

The issue is that nobody is seeing that we are born with error in our heart. The reason we die is because of the error, we think we are more than what we really are. We unconsciously think we are more than a created being (we are not even aware we think that way) Before sin, everyone in the universe was depended on God as their source of love, life and joy. When satan wanted to be more than a creature (a created being) the universe was in disharmony. Everything in the universe had to take love from God and give to it others. Unselfish love reigned throughout the universe until satan wanted to become god. satan no longer took love from God, which meant that he started to die. But God is merciful until satan had gone to far in his experience and is eternally lost. Similarly, when Adam and Eve sinned, they could've fallen die right when they ate the fruit. But God was merciful to them and because God already deviced a plan of salvation. Adam didn't die that day. It is only by God's grace that we are alive. We are born with the error thinking we have possession. We think our lives belong unto us. As created being we have nothing. We are but stewards of God’s possession. We should just take from God love, peace, joy, harmony and give it to others. And what happens is that we don't make God our source, we look to humans to fulfill our needs. And when we don't receive the exoectations we have of others, conflict arise in our hearts and we fight, control and force others to be loved, respected, honored and praised. Our hearts are so evil, we cannot know itself. But we can see little into our hearts. Why do we get angry, why do we fight? It is what comes out of our heart that makes us sick. People look to the external things to change but the real matter has to do with the heart. Doing external things won't change the heart. The inside must be changed and then the external behavior will be changed automatically.

Ha, ha. I actually had to look Hannibal Lecter up to confirm, but got overconfident when my guess proved right with that. Just presumed the other dude was the gimp out of Pump Fiction. Isn't he? They look the same to me. Lol. :)

if Adam was created 'very good' with a system of defense against the disease and disease originates with sin in a mans heart then sinless 'very good' original unfallen Adam was made with defilement inside him and a means to temporarily mitigate the effects of that defilement - death.

i.e. Adam was made with death and created to die, and given a physio-chemical system to mask the death inside him and make it look like life.

"the lie of Satan" is that God brought us only in order to murder us, our children and our animals. Exodus 17:3, Genesis 3:5, 2 Thessalonians 2:11

what's unfallen Adam doing with a built-in temporary mitigation of death system? did God create Adam only for him to slowly die from decay brought on by infectious sickness? was it God's purpose to place Adam in an environment full of creatures whose entire existence depends on destroying the bodies of living souls?
Hmm that's an interesting question... But bacteria in us and it is in harmony with the environment. We are a lot more microbial than we think and actually 90% of our immune system is in the gut... Just like we live in God - we are the body, so the microbes live in us. The war is waged within the body, just like the greater war in the Body. The fall brought something, just like all was previously good, so were the microbes... they all lived in harmony... But not any more. What is the fall? What a coincidence that when knowledge of good and evil is acquired things are no longer good... Who declared it? Could it be the man himself? Aka, "who told thee"?
If Adam didn't have immune system that would also mean his skin didn't shed because shedding skin is dead cells. It would also mean that his hair never shed. Actually, his hair and nails couldn't even grow because it is dead epithelial cells too, not just protein. I somehow don't think he came with a premade hairstyle... I do struggle with that type of envisioning things... God says behold I make ALL things anew. To make something anew the old has to die. Did God start making things anew at some point - did God change? I struggle with that notion too, that God changed at any point...
And every time without mistake, one hits THAT wall where Genesis makes no logical sense every time you trace a thought sufficiently far. I believe we need to understand Genesis and the creational week differently and not in the context of time, although I know most won't agree with me...

how do you assume i know them, and what do you think is different about reality?
That you would ask the question "You think viruses don't exist" shows you think in a certain way.

There are exosomes, produced by cells, as part of a body's immune system. This is how God created lifeforms, and is demonstrable. These are considered by some to be viruses. But when isolated and implanted into a new organism (which is done rarely), these exosomes are incable of causing the symptoms the virus is said to cause. The theory of sicknesses caused by viruses is bad science.

No he isn't. But we aren't to trust scientists above God's Word. We are to realize that no amount of education prevents anyone from being infallible - and God's Word says that too. We can draw conclusions from what we see and hear in daily life. Sometimes, people know things that few others know. It has always been that way. Think of all of the inventors there have been throughout history, for example. They never trusted just one source of knowledge - but explored many sources of knowledge and also drew their own conclusions too. Without that, inventions would often not be possible.
