I don't empty my mind because there is nothing there to empty. What I do is get filled with the Holy Spirit.
How do you do this, and how do you know it is the spirit and not a demon coming as an angel of light?

frank viola does not seem to recognize Paul as a teacher. he has stated that Paul came to Antioch as a member of the church, not to teach.

not a good sign, not a good guy to take advise from.
To remove the authority f paul in the inspired word is to basically rip scripture apart to where it is no longer scripture

then you are following occult practices and are too flippant to see that

you thought grave sucking was a legit thing to do

do what you want. however, you are not credible as a person who actually follows what is written in scripture..which, just happens to be the word of God. it is very noticeable you follow authors and condone practices that are openings for demonic activity

respond as you will, you are not going to take my post seriously or offer any sort of reasonable response. continually saying you are emptying your mind is influencing how I respond to you, meaning you are successful at convincing me you think something is funny about having nothing between the ears

perhaps someone else just reading, will take some advice and stay away from occultic practices

the Holy Spirit does not override our wills and take the place of the brains God gave us. we are told to renew our minds, God tells us that in the word, so you saying you are filled with the Holy Spirit, does not witness with anyone who is actually walking by the word, ie. the Holy Spirit, who does not glorify our flesh but continually works in us to conform us to the image of Christ

he is speaking nonsense and a blank and undisciplined mind is the devil's playground

nowhere are we told to empty our minds other than in the occult

you probably know this. you are not going to get a sensible answer out of someone who mocks the work of the Holy Spirit, which he is actually doing

this is a dude who actually states he prefers not to think and he empties his mind

the Holy Spirit does not work that way.

John 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

Every church and I mean every church should be teaching its members how to know the voice of the Lord. I was in a church for 10 years whose main ministry was to teach everyone how to hear from the Lord and when they hear it to share it with the church. What that means, in reality, is that you do get to know the voice of the Lord.

I have just been advised that I am seriously likable as I have reached 100 likes. All I can say is thank you so much as I do not post to be liked but the fact that it has happened is the icing on the cake. Bless all of you for your generosity.

It amazes me that you judge others but are blind to yourself. Often you show you know scripture, yet your posts dispute ways of the Lord.

Please prayerfully read Phil. 4:8, and look for the good in posts, instead of combing them for something bad.

You did not answer my question

I hear many people say they hear from the a lord and God spoke to them. Yet they all have differing sometimes apprising views

So who is right? Who heard From God (if any) and who is hearing from their flesh or Satan who comes as an angel of light

You do what scripture tells to do, you test the spirits with scripture.
Again people say they hear from God and confirmed it with scripture yet again they have apprising views.
who is right

Jesus pointed to a little child, not a scholar, to tell who was right. It isn't in what we know, it is in what we live.

Still not an answer. When you have apposing views state God told them and scripture backs them. Something is wrong

I agree, someone in wrong. We need to look to scripture, again, to find out what to do about it.

Paul addresses some of this in Romans 14. He uses how to honor the Sabbath as an example. Paul seems to say that making a big issue of differences can be a stumbling block to many, the important issue is that we accept Christ as our savior and put the spirit of the Lord within us.

We are told that we see darkly until we go to live with the Lord. We do that by accepting the Lord's offer of wiping away our sins and living within us. We don't know all the Lord's ways, we can only wonder and we aren't to fight with each other about it.

the answer is in what they said. if we question and wonder as a child, we will learn. if we follow God also as an innocent child, we will become as a child of God - learning, growing, maturing in Christ. those who mature in Christ (truth, "I am the way and the truth and the life) come to know truth.

I think we need to stop saying God told me. And stop saying the scripture proves me and just share what we think. Otherwise we come across as boastful and proud and prety Much destroy good conversation before it starts

But if two people with apprising views say God told them and scripture backs them. How can they both be right?

those who are closer to God may sense (or even some may know) what is right and what is wrong in a given subject. if we wish to know also we should seek God and His ways. the scriptures can help our understanding of subjects but also confuse us, this is true. ask God and keep seeking when we do not know.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

straight paths may lead to straight knowledge.

straight paths and straight knowledge are rare in modern Christianity.
