But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
The Holy Bible: King James Version. (1995). (electronic ed. of the 1769 edition of the 1611 Authorized Version., 1 Pe 3:15). Bellingham WA: Logos Research Systems, Inc.
"A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still". (unknown)
I think the best thing we can do when we meet a person that asks us about the Faith in Us.
Is not try to convince them with arguments (plus you want them to know Christ and not just believe you for the sake of an argument). This verse say with "meekness and fear". Meekness or "gentleness" if we act as though we are superior in any way they will not hear us. The same is to be said about someone that does not have as much bible knowledge as we do.
Note "If they ask us" That means you already have their attention in other words they have given you an open door to their heart. Its simple just tell them how you came to know Christ. A testimony rather than a bible verse 2Cor 3:2 "Ye are epistle...,known and read of all men." Only after you have won someones trust over are they more likely to believe you. So let them get to know you. And don't be so hard on your self if they still can't see. Not everyone is willing to give up the world. Christians should know this better than anyone because if I am not struggling with something I have to "Examine if I am in the faith" 2Cor 13:5 Because the first part of the Verse at the top says sanctify your self. The whole point is to show them "Christ" not how smart you might be.
