37¶Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
I like how it says " pricked in their heart " heart , singular , Collectively.

Acts 2:5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
I think this refers to all that the Lord speaks to Israel. The Lord created Israel to hear His voice, and it is all to Israel first and also to the nations, as is meant when He says 'to the Greeks". Otherwise, God wouldn't address His voice to Israel, and then in verse after verse tell of including the strangers or sojourners, as God called the gentiles.
Before Our Lord's Ascension, His decree to the Church was to preach the Gospel to every nation, even every creature! Matt 28v18-20, Mark 16v15-18,Luke 24v46-49, Acts 1v4-8,
Acts 2v38,39, is following out that commission, all you're doing is twisting the Scriptures to support your erroneous view! 2Peter 3v16...
If that is the case, why was Peter criticised by the believers for eating with gentiles in acts 11?
Your understanding that Peter is saying those present have come from afar off is not accurate. Notice Peter says the stated promise is for those present and their children, AND to ALL that are afar off, After making that point he goes on to say, EVEN as many of God shall call.
Acts 2:39
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
If you had just travelled all the way from all the places mentioned in Acts 2 . And you were told the things they were told ,what great joy to hear it was not just for them present , but to their children , their families, their people back home . So we see 8000 Jews and proselytes reached by the 12 from all these places . Wow !
1¶And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
9Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
10Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
11Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
12And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?
14¶But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
22¶Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

38¶Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
40¶And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation
Remember its 10 years after Acts 2 that the apostles still no nothing about the gentiles being granted repentance. So to imagine Peter is saying " and even to the gentiles " is ignoring the narrative and context completely. Oh I know what gets preached on Sunday and what the theologians want to tell us ,but here we are . Many competing views ,many denominations that depend on Acts 2 for their beliefs.
Could you explain these verses please then ?

19¶Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.
The Jews are among the nations, being scattered .

You are deflecting from what you said in your post #287 below:
I have taken the liberty of bolding your above comment. You specifically said Peter was talking to those who had come from afar off.
I'm making the point that they have come from afar off . Their families are not necessarily with them. its for Their children and those Jews that are afar off . Then we fast forward approx ten years THEN Gentiles are granted repentance. Acts 11

No gentiles are in Peters mind when he speaks in Acts 2 . Gentiles are not in his mind until God has to show him in a vision 10 years !! later . So he's hardly saying " those Gentiles also who are afar off "
