You seem a decent fellow so I'll get to my point.
I love God so it is in my character to not worship anyone else. And murdering someone who bears his image is out of the question.
I love Jesus so I honour him as such, it's part of who I am.
I Love my wife therefore adultery isn't an option for me.
So on and so forth. I have no commandments to tell me not to do these things. I have conviction of the Holy Spirit, and my conscience toward the love that I have from grace, so these things are not a command, but a new nature.
The stone tablets are in the Arc of the Covenant which is in the throne room of God. We no longer have them, and they are not for us. They are a conviction against those who do not have the love of the Father.
As far as keeping the Sabbath, I do so everyday (not without fail, I am a human and fail not of lack of want but out of being dragged away by my own designs) I seek and keep my rest and my peace in Jesus.
The Bible teach us non of us is decent (good). We all need Christ. We are all on a journey and we are all learning.

The only way you can experience this love you are describing is because Holy Spirit is writing the commandments on your heart. Because you are not convicted of keeping the Sabbath doesn't make it right. It might just be something God will address in future with you.

If you can keep the Sabbath every day I am happy for you :) . You will be a great teacher to many in that regard... but before you do ask God to teach you what blasphemy is because we need to discern in that regard also.

Ok

HOW DO I KEEP THE SABBATH?

don’t sit there and try to judge people and not tell them how to do it.
show us how, using the Bible.
Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

This would be a good place to start EG ;)

The discussion has been about the bible the whole time.
It has?

then show me in the Bible what it looks like to obey the sabbath

you speak a lot. But I have yet hear you show anyone what it looks like,

is it because you can’t?

My friend, nobody except One could "keep the law" to perfection. The law was never an instrument given to us for salvation but it pointed us to sin.

We really need to get past this; we all know nobody can keep the Law perfectly and I have never seen anybody claiming it.

If we all can stand back and look at this topic the reality is that 9/10 commandments are not even a point for discussion because we will automatically try to keep them. The one we are all debating, ever, is the Sabbath. I will rather try to be obedient to the Word of God and if I fail repent, than take the ostrich approach and hide my head in the sand.

And again, nobody can judge anybody about anything because we are all guilty sinners. Let us wait for our King to do that :) God bless my dear brother in Christ.
My friend, the law was supposed to help lead us to Christ, lead us to salvation that is it’s sole purpose

it was not given to help you grow, or show us the means of sanctification, it was not meant for that purpose,

The law can not possibly show us every sin, it does not have to, all it has to do is prove to us we are sinners, which it does quite well, unless your a pharisee.

there is a way however, that does help us with sin, it’s called the law of love, it can do what the law could never do. And help us to sanctification, to christian growth,

as paul said, the law came and we die. If we look to the law and do not see how dead we are we do not really see the law, because that was its purpose.

we need to focus on what CAN grow us in Christ, and stop focusing on what was given by God to lead us to Christ.

Start being the key word,

now let’s find the rest of the instructions,

remember, partial obedience is not true obedience, the problem we get into is when we go pump our chests of how obedient we are. When in reality we are not obedient (in Gods eyes)

The wages of sin is death :) now by this standard I can tell you I have sinned because if my time comes before the return of Yeshua I will die. I can love you, and my wife and every other brother and sister in the world until I am blue in the face but that will be the end result for me and every other living being on earth.

Now I don't say we wont have ever lasting live but we will die a physical death.

I never said that the law is not pointing me to Christ... but I am not the one that is discarding the OT. To me it still have value and is a roadmap to intimacy with my King :)

Paul was spot on... the wages of sin is death.

Thank you brother for pointing this out to me, now go and build me a Tabernacle with fire from YHVH everyday (with +-600 000 people give or take) and I can continue this discussion.

And while you are at it place the people around the Tabernacle in the form of a cross. Get the Levites together and we can then really start discussing this...

I believe we are missing the mark if we don't do it.

Now before you go nuclear on me :) I am also guilty of not being able to keep the other 9 commandments so I am in need of a Savior...

I have a log?

yet you did not respond to my post how the word sabbath was never used until the law,

and you do not tell us what it means to keep the sabbath, how is it obeyed? what are the requirments?

I mean committing adultry? According to the law by defenition is is laying with someone who is not your spouse, but according to god we can look at a woman (or man) with lust, and are just as guilty as if we did the act.

yet we have people water this law down all the time.

what does obeying the sabbath mean? I mean if you do not really know, just confess you do not know. But don’t tell me it is non of my business. If your going to insist I obey the sabbath you must tell me how, this you made it my business
You never read my responses, that are done to give what scripture tells us. Almost always any response to me is a false accusation like "you insist". I have never, ever, insisted but only reported scripture.

At the same time I am asked to tell you what scripture should be telling you. You are not listening to scripture or me. Just judging and falsely accusing. Or saying, with a snooze sign, that you aren't interested in anything I say.
So we no longer need the schoolmaster but we still need the schoolmaster

Which is it?

Is breaking a command still a sin? Yes. I never claimed otherwise

But what constitutes breaking the command? The command itself dies
Not tell us. So we
Must look to the law to find out correct? Otherwise we can have no idea if we are obeying the command or disobeying it?

You just telling me to obey it or claiming you do does not mean anything

If you can’t tell us what time s you are just blowing smoke

One again. What does boating the sabbath consist of?

I will not ask again. If you refuse to answer I will understand you have no idea what it means and move on
I think, EG, you have the Sabbath on the brain, and it is preventing you from acting as a Christian. A Christian belongs to Christ, not to a certain day of the week. A Christian would let anothe Christian speak of how God created the earth without all this bluster, accussing and fuss. Please!! This is a Christian site, move on.

Your one to talk
again practice what you preach
I do not have sabbath on my
Mind it is the discussion we have been having I guess it is hard for you to keep on topic?

This all started when my brother Dan posted what the sabbath really looked like and asked who here fulfills that requirement and all that we have heard from you and others is attitude. Yet non of you will tell us what it means to truly follow the sabbath

I know what it means. And I know non of you obey it. Whether you think you do or not to the letter

You can continue to live in ignorance or you can listen to your brother trying to help you look to better things and grow

It’s up to you

You are not even able to keep the 6th commandment because the Bible teach us to hate is like killing somebody. The amount of disrespect you show for some is bordering hate (if not full on) so we can go in circles all day long and point fingers but we are all guilty and in need of a Savior.

not going nuclear, just wanted to point out that gentiles are not and were not under the Law, and while the other 9 were commanded in the N. T.. no specific command to keep the Sabbath was told to the gentiles.

since the Sabbath was in the covenant that God made with Israel through Moses.

so, if you do not have jewish ancestry , then you were never a part of that covenant..

My friend we all have Jewish ancestry... somewhere, somehow. Must be .

I know Jesus kept the Law to the last detail. I am following Him and as a result, even if I falter I will continue listening to John when he said:

"And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it."

John also teach us; "For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous."

so, we are all jewish. that is a good laugh.

what Abram leave when God called him? his country and family. so, his family stayed and hence were not part of the Jewish nation that Abram birthed..

and, when John spoke about command keeping, he was NOT speaking of the 10.

in the same chapter of the same letter , he stated that the commands were to" believe in the name of the Son and love one another"

so, nope, no Sabbath command for gentiles in the N.T.

I was actually just making a joke, but I forget we are in the BDF. It is like going to one of these churches where nobody is allowed to crack a smile

Come to the BDF they said we are discussing the Bible they said ...

As I understand it the Greek word is referring to the commandments / law.

Commandment
  1. an order, command, charge, precept, injunction
    1. that which is prescribed to one by reason of his office
  2. a commandment
    1. a prescribed rule in accordance with which a thing is done
      1. a precept relating to lineage, of the Mosaic precept concerning the priesthood
      2. ethically used of the commandments in the Mosaic law or Jewish tradition

2) in the same chapter of the same letter , he stated that the commands were to" believe in the name of the Son and love one another"

3) so, nope, no Sabbath command for gentiles in the N.T.
1) Abraham was a Hebrew and so are we because we cross over from the world back to YHVH.

2) So now we can discard everything about the commandments and love one another? The wages of sin is death. I know I will receive my wages just like everyone that will die before our King returns even if they love each other to the moon and back.

The commandments of God is love because He is love.

3) If Jesus did it and it was good enough for Him, I can try to do it. If I am wrong I have rested every Saturday and spend time with Him. Not a bad thing to do any way you look at it.

We are currently learning in Bible school how everything is pointing to Christ. Everything!

The Tabernacle, each piece of furniture in the Tabernacle, the walls around the Tabernacle, the olives they pressed to make oil for the Tabernacle, and so I can go on and on and on.

The Commandments are for the glory of God... each and every one of the 10.

1. I never stated I keep the law now have I? So who is accusing who here?
2 Disrespect? Since when is the truth disrespect? Keep up on the conversation my friend.

It’s not My fault people Can not keep on topic. The topic I have been discussing is the topic of what it looks like to keep the sabbath according to the law as posed by my brother @mailmandan in which he asked a question to People who insist we Must Keep the sabbath and all he got was flick and disrespect himself

Stating the truth is not disrespect
My friend. It May hurt. But it’s not disrespect If stating the truth is disrespect the Bible is very disrespectful

People see the word command and automatically assume law

I think this is the disconnect!
