I think the news section is a bit of a joke. But clearly its what lots of people who've got nothing better to focus on want to talk about.
Here what makes the paper/tv is mostly in this order
outrageous property prices
horrible deaths - car crashes, shootings, stabbings
power politics
extreme weather
the latest celeb scandal
people behaving badly - stealing, lying and cheating
nothing is new under the sun! Give me the resurrection and revelation of Jesus Christ any day, thats the good news I wanna hear.
