Oh I was well aware of your sarcastic tone but there was no need for that magenta didn't say anything wrong and yes I will defend her and anyone else who needs defending. Ask anyone here how many times I intervene on others behalf it's not just my friends I do not tolerate immature actions especially since we are Christians and are called to be love and to be mature in Christ.

Perhaps I sounded like the original poster because like her I know the depths of inner pain and had I not had a friend to keep me strong and encourage and cheer me on I might not have been able to make through the storm.
Inner wounds and bleeding are much deeper than physical pain and are also the most difficult to heal

some people can just say to others 'harden up' but for people prone to depression thats not always helpful.
as christians we dont harden our hearts, we guard our hearts with Gods armour.

I also dont believe in tit for tat. If someone has wronged you, dont seek revenge on them. leave it with God to do on His timing.

I once had this boss and she was quite mean to me. I was young. and trying to do my job and be helpful but she took this as being critical of her ways and methods of doing things. It got to the point when going to work was something I dreaded cos it seemed like I could never do anything right, and so I thought seriously of quitting and doing something else. it was stressing me out big time as this was my chosen career.
I was taken to a disciplnary meeting and asked her why she kept me maybe I should leave and she was cold and said along the lines of if you leave I dont care kind of thing.
well eventually the entire organisation got restructured and the boss lost her job in the shuffle. she moved somewhere else, and the last thing I heard was she said on her leaving day that she LOVED us.

us workers were very shocked she would say that as we certainly hadnt been feeling it over the years being quite demoralised. who knew!

she became the boss of another organisation down the line but I heard she died of cancer a few years ago.
anyway to cut a long story short I think while its hard to go on after being betrayed and made to feel absolutley worthless by people (usually in authority) God knows what you mean to Him. You are precious and He hears your prayers, even if not answered straight away.

Perhaps you need to re study the fruits of the spirit before you go around declaring what is stupid or not

I just hope the person who started this thread has something good to take from all this discussion. I've been reading this thread and while there are disagreements and we can all disagree on something, we here because we want the person who is going through this to do better and to feel better in her life. We need not be perfect or right about something all the time. We belong to the same family. We're believers in Christ. So, when one us is down, it feels good and right to be there to speak to that person and comfort that person. Often times, we try to do it our way. It's like the story of Job, where he is alone, having gone through what he went through and along come a group of friends to comfort him. While every friend meant it well for Job and tried to comfort him, each friend his own way, only God could heal Job and restore him and his family. What I'm trying to say is that our support is important to the person concerned at this time. I think that matters the most. God's going to take care of the rest.

Don't worry she got a lot of good from it and was greatly encouraged by everyone who encouraged each other and expressed their own experiences with this.

She is actually getting into studies about bible prophecy right now and I am waiting for her to come back online to see how she is doing on that, she is not used to bible prophecy so I have been trying to help guide her in it as best as I can

He confronted hypocrytes liars and decievers the Pharisee's were his main contenders and he like me did not hesitate to confront them on their wrong doing and he also always stuck up for the oppressed as well. He was more than anyone in history the most empathic compassionate and caring person the only time he used any confrontetion to was to rebuke people and it was always done in the right way and at the right time
Quoting scripture doesn't prove your stance anyone can cherry pick or quote scripture as you did with Psalms as well but without understanding the scripture and the purpose of it then your just wasting your time and playing with scripture like it's a toy

Sharing common ground in how family mistreated us is is not running them down it's stating what happened and how it affected us, I don't have any friends in my life and I mean that as in I am constantly secluded and alone in my home I have been for over two years my friends and my family are those on cc who I have found more of a family and close bonds than anyone else in my life.

I have only known pain and sadness most of my life I have known all of this more than a lot of people and so I am compassionate and understanding of others who have been hurt and know pain as well and do whatever I can to help them and sometimes all a person needs is to be understood and heard and that is what I did for her. Those who have known such pain in life are able to connect help and understand others who have known the same and you know ever since I reached out to her she has been doing much better but what did you do for her? I took the time and cared enough to reach out to her via pm and because I did God has been helping her and she is doing better so you may say what you want but the evidence speaks for itself

I've been betrayed by several Christians who I had thought were friends. Our pastor completely stopped talking to me because we had to stop attending church due to severe injuries I sustained. It made me really see what is what. Then another Christian did something truly devilish. Then a Christian I had been friends with for years showed me that her friendship was shallow. When I was injured she never visited and I saw that she treated her church friends well but looked upon me as "if I get the time I'll answer" - she actually said that. So I stopped contacting her and she kept emailing me so I did to her what she did to me and she didn't like it and completely cut me off. It showed what she truly is

David in the bible talked about "mine own familiar friend" - and I wondered how many other believers experienced betrayal from other Christians? I think that somehow I missed the boat in finding friends who wouldn't backstab but I listened to one of Charles Stanley's sermons and he said that most people don't have a lot of friends. I guess he's in the position to see things in an entire congregation. I heard another pastor who said "some Christians you can't turn your back on" and that has been my experience. When things are going good people want to be around but when you fall is when you see what people really have in them. Have others experienced this?

The people you speak of are not true Christians since true Christians never do such things. If they did, they automatically cease to be Christians until repentance. Some people who claim to be Christians are actually reprobates who live their lives outside the Bible and the word of God (even if they verbally repeat words from the Bible without backing with actions), following godless ways of thinking and living like tribalism, paganism, or worldly-desire-chasing to name a few.

The key difference between a Christian and a non-Christian is whether someone has the heart to rebuke their brother when they sin or not.

If they do, it means they are not attached to this world and care more about their brother going to Heaven and avoiding Hell, thus putting God's obedience above worldly matters and feelings, and following Jesus Christ's command to rebuke their brother when he sins.

If they don't, it means they are actually attached to this world, not the Kingdom of God, and thus put their "feelings" above serving God, and don't truly believe in Heaven or Hell since they allow their brother to perish in the after-life as a result of not rebuking, and don't love or fully accept Jesus Christ for not listening to him.
