The key to understand this verse is the context of verses .1 .12 and 2.12

1 .12
12¶But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;
2.12
12¶Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

This verse has nothing to do with working for your salvation.
But rather ,Paul wants them to do as Paul proves in 1.12 . Sufferings and persecution with Paul's imprisonment actually furthered the Gospel. Paul is encouraging them to do likewise . The fruit of Paul's salvation is their salvation. This is what Paul wants them to be encouraged to do . To WORK OUT their salvation in the same way as Paul.

Why try to change the words of a perfectly clear verse? And the context of Philippians 2:12 is not 1:12. It is Philippians 2:5-15.

5 "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;"

It is what our Lord Jesus DID - His works:-
Verse 7 - "He MADE" ... a work, He TOOK ... a work.
Verse 8 - "He HUMBLED Himself" ... a work. "HE was OBEDIENT" ... a work
Verse 9 - the RESULTS of these WORKS is to be awarded the highest place in the universe ... A REWARD
Verse 12 - starts with "WHEREFORE ... " showing that the foregoing verses apply to us. We must DO the same things!
  1. Have Christ's mind
  2. Make oneself of no reputation
  3. Be a servant
  4. Humble oneself
  5. Be obedient
  6. Be obedient even if it means your death
  7. Do all things without murmurings and disputings
IF one will DO this, one will receive a place in the KINGDOM. The context is not a matter of avoiding the Lake of Fire, or having eternal life. It is a matter of who will BOW the KNEE to who - a matter of RULE. We see it again in Revelation 3:8-10;

8 "I know thy WORKS: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth."

The salvation spoken of here is the salvation of the SOUL, not to be spared the Lake of Fire. See 1st Peter 1:9.

You missed it . What Jesus exemplifies is selflessness . The focus is not on ourselves. Its serving others . Its for the sake of the Gospel.

You focus on :
  1. Have Christ's mind
  2. Make oneself of no reputation
  3. Be a servant
  4. Humble oneself
  5. Be obedient
  6. Be obedient even if it means your death
  7. Do all things without murmurings and disputings
All of this is for Others and the sake of the Gospel. Selflessness not Selfishness.
Selfishness is doing for self .

There is a (salvation=deliverance), which is eternal, that is by God's grace, without the works of mankind, and there is a (salvation=deliverance) that is here on earth, by the good works of regenerated mankind. Working out your own salvation=deliverance is the deliverance that mankind receives as he sojourns here on earth, by following God's commandments.

I see you emphasise the fact its not about losing salvation but more about rewards ect But that's not Paul's focus in Phil . Paul's ' Fruit ' whilst being in chains is actually furthering the Gospel. Suffering but still the fruit of Paul's salvation is evident. He wants them to understand this example. Magnified by Christ's example . That their fruit will be manifested as they to like Paul work ' out ' their salvation . FOR the Gospel. There is Joy here .

4Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

This is the whole point , i believe.

NO one can work for salvation and get it, it takes YESUAH going to the cross to pay my sin debt
Salvation according to the Greek equals 'deliverance". Jesus paid for all of the sins of those that God gave him, and that is their eternal deliverance that is by God's sovereign grace, without the works of mankind. There is also a deliverance that mankind can receive here in this world by "working out their own deliverance" by following God's commandments.

Eternal salvation is not by the works of mankind. Timely deliverance here in this world is by the works of mankind.

If we do not separate these two different salvations=deliverances, the scriptures will tend to teach eternal salvation by the works of mankind.

I will direct your attention to the part of your comments that states; "If one will do this, one will receive a place in the KINGDOM"

If you are referring to the KINGDOM as the church, then your statement is applicable, but if you have reference to the KINGDOM being eternal heaven, then your statement is false, because that would advocate that eternal deliverance can be achieved by the works of mankind.

The kingdom of heaven is one of many names that describes the church. Others are; The kingdom of God, the kingdom of Christ, the church of the first born, Zion, Jacob surname Israel, the city set upon a hill, the remnant, the few, the new Jerusalem, the bride, and more.

1st Peter 1:9, has reference to god's elect that he choose before the foundation of the world and were sanctified by Jesus through his blood on the cross. Their eternal deliverance was accomplished by Jesus, and not by them doing the seven works that you have listed.

doing the works that God has commanded that his regenerated children do (work out your own salvation=deliverance) can deliver= save them here in this world, but these works are not the cause of them being delivered=saved eternally.

Deliverance by works; Phil 2:12 his regenerated children being obedient to his commandments is "working out their own deliverance" not eternally, but they are awarded here in this world by their obedience to his commandments.. Romans 2:10, but glory, honour, and peice, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile. Romans 6;16 Know ye not, that whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom you obey, whether of sin unto death (separation from your fellowship with God), or obedience unto righteousness.

Eternal deliverance by grace, without works; Eph 1:11. Eph 2:1. Eph 2:8-9. Gal 2:16. Rom 5:10. Rom 3:20.

this does not belong in the verse. And make the truth of none affect, and is A lie
separation from your fellowship with God) and is a LIE

This is doing what this says, and this verse spells it out for US
Acts 13:10 And said, O full of all subtlety and all mischief, [thou] child of the devil, [thou] enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

Romans 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
ROMANS 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
6:19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
6:20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

ROMANS 8:10 And if Christ [be] in you, the body [is] dead because of sin; but the Spirit [is] life because of
righteousness.

1 COR 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak [this] to your shame.

EPH 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
EPH 5:9 (For the fruit of the Spirit [is] in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
EPH 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

PHIL 1:11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

1 TIM 6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

2 TIM
3:16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Hebrews 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
Hebrews12:14 Follow peace with all [men], and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
THIS is telling US that with out HOLINESS, NO MAN SHALL SEE THE LORD.

1 THESS 4:7 For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

12:14 Follow peace with all [men], and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Hebrews 12:11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. [chastening us to get us righteous]

1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
1 Peter 3:14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy [are ye]: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

2 Peter 2:21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known [it], to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

1 John 2:29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him
1 John 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
This tells us that the saved is righteous, even as YESUAH is righteous.
1 JOHN 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. { This is telling us if we are not righteous, WE ARE OF THE DEVIL }

Revelation 19:8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. To her = the Church
The RED is telling the saints that they are Righteous,

2 COR 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

THIS should be enough to let us know that we haft to have RIGHTEOUSNESS TO MAKE IT TO HEAVEN

Eph 2:1. Eph 2:8-9. Gal 2:16. Rom 5:10. Rom 3:20.
You've definitely got things mixed up . I don't even know what your saying . Are you confusing ' deliverance ' in today Old testament sense . Where Israel was delivered from famine or war ect ?

I don't believe they are working out anything in an eternal or temporal sense. This is about the furtherance of the Gospel. Its about ' working " For others and not themselves, FOR the furtherance of the message .Selflessly not selfishly. Adding ' for rewards ' or ' for deliverance ' is contrary to the focus. I believe in ' rewards ' for believers and certainly these Paul is speaking to would be rewarded later .

The key to understanding

2.12
12¶Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Philippians 2:5-11

5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

Matthew 23:12
…11The greatest among you shall be your servant. 12For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted. 13Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let in those who wish to enter.…

Matthew 16:24-25
Take Up Your Cross and Follow Jesus
24 Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life[g] will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

Why can't we stay in the same letter ? All the context is there . Paul wants them to understand what he's saying from the letter . Going to the old testament is ok but going from pre crucifixion to after is confusing . Unless you explain the difference .

this does not belong in the verse.

EPH 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

1 Peter 3:14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy [are ye]: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

1 JOHN 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. { This is telling us if we are not righteous, WE ARE OF THE DEVIL }

1 COR 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak [this] to your shame.

1 John 2:29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him

Contemporary English Version You know Christ always does right and everyone who does right is a child of God.

¶And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;

10That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;

11Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

12But I would that ye understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;

13So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places;

SO THAT MY BONDS IN CHRIST ARE MANIFEST .

Phil 1
17But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel

18What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached ; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

19¶For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ

Notice all of this ' furtherance ' of the Gospel stems from Paul's salvation :
" 19¶For I know that this shall turn to my salvation "
This of course is not saying that these things are what saves Paul or keeps him saved no . Its saying all the furtherance of the Gosepl . All the ' fruit ' can be traced back to his salvation . Paul wants the same for these saints . To ' work ' OUT their salvation. So their work will also further the Gospel and others will benefit from their selflessness ( Not selfishness, of working for their salvation or their own rewards) .
So that others would benefit and be saved.
