Hello @true_believer, I use about ten different translations/paraphrases regularly (the NIV is one of my favorites), but the NASB (New American Standard Bible, 1977/1995/2020) is my "go-to" translation.

Thanks for the response, but I'm well aware of the development of new bible versions, and the corrupt text that supports them.
Possibly you need to study the life of Adulterer Kurt Aland, and the Greek Text (Novum Testamentum Graece) he created with 4 others, including his Adulterous wife Barbara Nee Ehlers, a student in his class in Germany as he was the professor, that he ran off with and divorced his wife.
Dont forget Homosexaul Union Supporter, Roman Catholic Jesuit Cardinal (Carlo Maria Martini)
The vast majority of those reading the new bible versions dont have a clue on their foundations in Kurt Aland and the (Novum Testamentum Graece)

King James is my Bible choice. However, I turn to the Complete Jewish Bible quite often just to see how it compares to what my King James says. I do not use any other translation. Just a personal choice.
I do use a few Commentaries that may or may not use other translations. If they do use another translation, I am sure to read the King James before determining if I agree with what I find in the Commentary.

I like the NET. It has 66,000 footnotes, which use the original language, and refer to thousands of books and journals. I've read the Bible over 50 times, in many versions so I am well versed in the Bible. That allows me to read the footnotes for historical & geographical locations, background, grammar and vocabulary types and loads of other information.
I also am reading through the Greek NT for my second time, and reading the updated Martin Luther Bible in German. I've read the Bible in French. I use the Hebrew OT on occasion, but not enough.
The only Bible I have not read cover to cover is the KJV. I remembered why when I looked at some of the quotes in KJV by other posters. Obsolete and archaic words. Grammar that is far from modern English, and just bad syntax. I can't imagine why anyone would read a Bible in a language they have never studied. (I've taken many years of courses in the original languages, I am fluent in French, having studied it from grade 7 till my 50's. I have a couple years of German, too! That is why I read the Bible in other languages!)

I do love the way the NLT presents Psalm 23....
The Lord is my shepherd;
I have all that I need.
He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams.
He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
bringing honor to his name.

I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
