Anyone who believes that this covid19 virus is a hoax, needs to work a shift at a hospital ICU with infected patients.
People die every year from the flue. The virus isn’t a hoax; the inflated numbers and tyrannical precautionary measures are the hoax.

I have been skimming through this thread, and what intrigues me is the massive condemnation of science and education. I’ll be the first person to admit that I don’t have much education myself, except from military training, but we, on the whole, as a society, are dependent on both education and science. Regardless of what we lack in that direction personally.

I think we need to focus on the educational system, because our country doesn’t need a bunch of uneducated rednecks like myself. We ain’t bringing the country forward. Quite the opposite, I’d dare say.
The issue we have now in our society is a simple matter of TRUST... As a result of third-party INFLUENCERS who have an impact upon our fair and balanced Political-Elections; News; Science and Education...
Trust within our Education System begs the question IF the system can be trusted to be anti-biased vs an indoctrination of controversial "Critical Race Theory"...

So glad my kids (military brats) got thru the education system before all this drama and controversial beliefs were imposed upon their young minds... While college education influencers remains challenging - at least they were raised to be able to cautiously weigh all alternatives in their young decision making processing minds...

You get the red x's because people dont agree with what you have said or don't you think that is possible?
Well most of the red x are from Calvinists so I will never agree with them and they can disagree with me all they want scripture is not on their court.

I agree with many people and many people have taught me quite a bit on here one being Frank Chatter, @posthuman @Johnjo @Truebeliever @Billyd and others.

Having said that most people disagree with basic science to me that is a problem and what you wrote is untrue.

I work for a university, have many family members in research and you made is a broad sweeping generalization and I find it personally offensive having watched many people work very hard with a very high level of integrity.

"Ditching science results" makes not sense whatsoever.

Like I said we can disagree.

Facts don't disagree.
The system itself is not working. What is the use of good scientists doing their work if there is no public scientific debate and politics (along with hype) decides things anyway? In that sense, @Ruby123 is right. Don't take it as a personal attack... people do get a little bitter, but there's zero place for corruption in science - yet it happened before.

Kemp and Raffensperger are facing an awful choice. Getting whacked by their criminal mob, or going to jail for 10 years for conspiracy, election fraud, taking bribes & RICO.

You are aware that Kemps daughter's boyfriend was killed a couple of days ago? Word on the street is that he was whacked as a warning to Kemp to NOT audit the vote. Kemp of course complied. He rescinded his earlier order to conduct a forensic audit.

That ladies and gentlemen is how the political gangland of bribes kickbacks dirty deals & murder works. Kemp would have done better to turn states evidence, cut a deal with the authorities & turn everyone else in.
Hoping they are investigating that young man's death... Such a travesty this is and that this entire scenario has manifested into... It truly is the makings of a Movie... Still astonished how indifferent/oblivious the average person is to what our society is actually capable of...

There is constant debate at the university level and among scientists.
Pre Covid I attended three, four conferences a year with plenty of debate and discussion regarding research in my field.
Ditching science is not a good thing and yes it is personal.

Scientist, doctors and various other professions do not debate with the general public.
If one wants to question the research then take the deep dive there are plenty of books on Amazon and one can pay for subscriptions to reputable journals.

I don't think the issue here is ditching science in general...
You're simply not being realistic if you expect everybody to deep dive through scientific journals in order to know anything. You're actually proving my point. Like I said, the "system" of delivering information to the public is not working...

Actually I do not get your point.

If people are going to go on and promote not wearing masks, countervailing general good practice based on medical science, then yes they should do a deep dive, the onus is on them to make informed choices, their choice affects others this is not a case of should I do chemotherapy or not.

Michigan woman gave birth to a healthy baby but died of COVID-19 before she could hold him

Erika Becerra was eight months pregnant when she was diagnosed with COVID-19. In November, she was induced and gave birth to a healthy baby boy.

After an otherwise normal delivery in Detroit, Michigan, Becerra was immediately intubated because she was having trouble breathing. Three weeks later, on Friday, Becerra died.

Other than being pregnant, Becerra didn't have any underlying health conditions, Avilez told KCAL. He said his brother-in-law, niece and new nephew all tested negative for COVID-19.
