Oh you mean like telling people who speak in tongues that it is a demon speaking through them.

Yes. Very helpful and great you pointed it out. You think I don't know that? I'll pass on the so called good intentions thank you very much.
No, this is a public forum and I was speaking to the anonymous viewers. I do it all of the time. If I was directing just to you, I would send you a P.M. Don't take it personal. It wasn't.

What exactly is your question? I also notice that Annanias was a disciple. He went to Saul of Tarsus that he might receive his sight and be filled with the Holy Ghost. He laid hands on Saul of Tarsus, and there is no record of anyone else doing so. I Corinthians 14:13 may indicate that one may receive a gift in response to prayer.

This is in James, which might be a very early epistle.

I grew up in Pentecostal churches, and the pastors frequently anoint the sick with oil. The one difference is that usually when I saw it, they'd invite people up for prayer and anoint them when they prayed for those who were sick. But my understanding is when they are called for, they do this in hospital rooms if 'call for the elders of the church' is the issue that you are concerned with.

I hear some Baptists also anoint the sick with oil. I am not sure how widespread that is, but I think it was practiced fairly early on in the colonial New Light Baptist movement in the Sandy Creek/Shubel Stearns era or soon thereafter if memory serves me correctly.

The Bible also mentions laying hands on this. Pentecostals do this also.
Sorry, yes it is James chapter 5.
I'm glad some churches practice what the Bible prescribes.

Oh I am so relieved. Now I don't have to drink coffee all night to stay up thinking about it.

You quoted my post. You gave a response. The reply is connected to the post. I'm not imagining that surely?

ps: I only read minds that I am close to.

I worked with a Pastor that was from South Africa. He told me down there there are Charismatic Baptists , which he was one. He said they're called "Happy Bappies". (No Joke)

OK, ok. It's called piggybacking. It's often used to indicate that the second post is and addition to the first post, sometimes as backup. I've only heard the no crosstalk or piggybacking rule at 12 step meetings.

Since I have never attended a 12 step anything, the only piggybacking I know, is when my dad would put me up on his shoulders. Had a good view from there too.

Do you always explain yourself that much?

"If" has meaning, in the context he also says, "but have not love" was he speaking of his own love?
No he was making a rhetorical point concerning love. Not his personal giftings or his personal love.
Tongues of men are not imaginary and it is not impossible to speak in them. Why would tongues of men be the only imaginary things in the passage?

It happened to me once. It was enough to make me a believer. Never say never.

Not unless I'm apologizing or defending someone or myself.

I don't know why you wish to continue this line of arguement. I didn't say that there is or is not tongues of angels. What I said is that passage does not establish the concept as doctrine. Nor does it establish that men are gifted to speak such a language.
As a matter of pure reason, one who have to assume that there is some kind of language spoken in heaven. That however does not make it doctrine either.
The passage does establish as doctrine that tongue speaking is only noise if there is no love
