I was actually originally baptized in 1965, when I was in 3rd grade--just old enough to take it seriously, but I can't pretend that I really knew what I was getting into. In January of 1978, a member of the Navigators came knocking on my door, and I wound up formally asking Christ into my heart, to be my Lord and Savior. In January of 1980, something happened between me and the Navs that left me in doubt of my salvation. That's a tale for another room or forum, once I know which is the right one. Anyway, that has left me bumbling around in limbo ever since. I'm hoping that someone on here can help me, and I can at least offer a different perspective on Christian experience than most.
Blessings on all of you, whatever happens!

Welcome to CC and nice to meet you! I looked up that group the Navigators and they certainly have mixed reviews. Some sites claim they are cultish. Either the Family Forum, Single's or Misc might be a good place to post your thoughts. My opinion is this personal disagreement with this group cannot alter your salvation at all. No matter what it was about Jesus still loves you and is for YOU:) Happy New Year and God Bless you!

Jesus does not want you to know Him through any group, denomination, cult, pastor, or church. He loves you and He died and rose on the third day so that He might know you and you might know Him directly. Forget about the Navs or any other groups. Forget all they ever told you if it did not come straight from the Mouth of God (His Holy Word; The Bible). It is only in a direct relationship with Jesus the you can draw the power that He wants you to have. This is the only way to become an overcomer. PTL!:)

Revelation
3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

Blessings on all of you, whatever happens!
Something super-great is about to happen, my much beloved brother!....

John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Soooooo glad you came!:)

Thank you, friends, and special thanks to Oyster67!
My issues aren't with the Navigators, but internal issues brought on by what happened back then, and the actions and results following. I do have to work hard at forgiving the Navigators, and recommend that people use caution in dealing with their leadership, but that is due to other experiences with them. I will be posting the full story in the Miscellaneous forum.
