In what world is socialism the same as communism. Sure they have similarities like they both breathe air. Socialism is any government program. Health Care, public roads, public schools, public parks, farm subsidies are all forms of socialism. Pure socialism where the government controls all means of employment and production is communism. Bernie is a democratic socialist . If you did just a tiny bit of research you could understand that it is not communism by any stretch. Bernie specifically advocates for a democratic socialist platform that is prevelant in many European countries. You can't just call half the countries of the world communist. By your measure the USA has already been a full on communist government since the advent of the minimum wage and social security. It is not the case and in fact a false equivalence.
