I would wager it is one whole heck of a lot more than that.
the solution to this is neither to close the border nor to invite everyone through, but to address the things in Central American countries that provoke tens and hundreds of thousands of people to seek asylum from other nations in the first place.

The constitution is clear. He merely performs as officer of the ceremony.
Did you even watch the ceremony? I did, so as to make sure the law was followed. He did exactly this, to the letter. He asked if there were objections for each and every state vote. When there were objections he followed the constitution as outlined. He had no power to stop it unless there were objections made BY A SENATOR OR A HOUSE MEMBER.
Only the Senate and house had/has the power to object and then stop the proceedings...and so they did when states like Arizona and Pennsylvania votes were read. Then it's up the Senate AND House to vote separately to KEEP the objection. Both bodies must keep the objection for it to stand, which was never going to happen because the house has a "dem" majority.
Pence had no power to stop the confirmation of these electoral votes.
He told Trump this. He tried to explain this to the president. But the president didn't want to accept it, and then claimed Pence betrayed him. Then made Pence an enemy.
If any other country did what trump was doing, we'd not hesitate to call that person a dictator.
This behavior is no different from a Kim Jong un or Putin.

This is what I mean by strong delusion. I mean we're straight up entering into crazyville and it's frightening. Otherwise intelligent, stable people, will believe any lie just not to accept the truth.
It's literally 2 Thessalonians 2. "Strong delusion to believe a lie because they have no love of the truth".
And if most here believe that the Great Tribulation is about to start very soon that should confirm for many here that this "strong delusion" must occur first as it is written.

Hardly funny. Trump calls for calm after the storm while Obama said nothing as his supporters rampaged, rioted, and murdered, but you choose to slam Trump for his measured, reasonable message? It really just goes to show that those who oppose Trump do so regardless of any good he aspires to.

...and this is the real issue. The feeling of robbery can only be felt if one believes their property was taken.
It was already assumed by many that Trump would win a second term. Some believed he was ordained by God as the savior (of America), others just assumed it's a given that sitting presidents would have two terms, and still others thought no one would possibly vote for Biden regardless if they didn't like Trump.
...so the only plausible explanation for many Trump supporters is theft through fraud. And no amount of evidence will convince them otherwise. Meanwhile, they're making their belief of fraud the proof that warrants their belief.
This is a very scary situation.
Obama was in office four years ago during rioting, rampaging, city burnings and
murders following Trump's election win and said NOTHING while it was going on.

so it's a lie that's designed to appeal to Christians. that's something pretty important to remember, IMO. it will look like it's the 'Christian thing to do / believe' and have a religious element. people who claim to be believers -- but whose god is really one of their own making, not the True God -- will fall in line and preach the beast.
some of the people committing the seditious assault on America the other day were carrying signs that read "Pelosi is Satan" -- folks, that is not Christianity. the people holding those signs think it is, but they are following The Liar, not Christ.
i heard that prior to the event, the national guard had reached out offering to send troops to help keep peace, as they had done when BLM rallies were expected. but the capitol police refused. i also heard that the white house declined to send them as reinforcements while it was happening -- until Pence, not Trump, took steps to send them. Trump's representatives later said he was the one who gave that order, but the secretary of defense said he only spoke with Pence, Pelosi, Schumer & Hoyer. there are conflicting reports of who was actually organizing and directing the eventual response.
in re: "conflicting reports" --- it may be notable that, as has sadly become the norm, the conflict in this topic boils down to Trump says one thing, and virtually everyone else with knowledge of how it happened says the opposite.
