I've been working on a new bread recipe...and I needed a low moisture yeast because of all the sugar in the dough.
So I made a batch of donuts. (High sugar content dough) after getting a new yeast and to test it.
Yeah...I just ruined Crispy Creme and Dunkin donuts all in one fell swoop.

I can see problems arising from my Sunday School class over the donuts now...

It's already rough when I bring breakfast. But now someone is going to really whine when I say "I just brought donuts"...just like last time when I made danish from scratch.

Today is a somber day. That's why these donuts are sad.

Well,
Donuts aside...
I got a batch of bread proofing it's first time...
It gets a second after I form it into loaves.

Then...
If this batch turns out...
Then I really put on the juice. I start my substitutions and introductions of the things I really want in there...

It's a pain to try and work around some of these things like trying to work without bromated high gluten Bread flour.
I can find bread flour all day long.
But the high gluten bromated kind...and pay less than a dollar per pound for it?
Fuhgetaboutit!
Unless I can find it possibly at Sam's or Costco in a 50# bag...
I don't need to buy that big a bag.

I thought I posted this morning, but, I'm not seeing it anymore.

So, here goes nothing....

Something I have been putting into practice for the last few months is if I ever have a bad day, whenever I feel a bit “off”, I nourish that part of myself.

I do the things I need to do (all my responsibilities and whatnot), but then I allow myself to feel. Avoiding those feelings might be an easy way out, but it will destroy you later on. It is important to get whatever is going on right now out in the open.

For me, that might look like laying in bed. Or it might look like cleaning. Or it might look like cooking. It might even look like me crying for no reason and saying, “you need this. You need to hurt. You need to not be okay right now.”

It is OKAY to feel. And it is OKAY to take care of that part of you that is hurting.

Today, this is what I’m doing. I’m kind of “off” today. And I’ll be taking care of the part of me who is hurting right now

Because, if I don’t, I won’t flourish.

This is a wise daily practice. I think happiness often depends on our will to be happy.

Sorry you are having a bad day. Praying you will turn it around with your nourishing........ :)

I like the thought of nourish to flourish......I would link that to the "nourish" being the Scriptures and the "flourish" being our spirits/souls after being "nourished" by His Holy Word

Just did that with God tonight, actually. I'm still feeling meh, but I have at least peace.
