Slapped some Fig Cake on his Boil!

And Isaiah said: 'Take a cake of figs.' And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.

I wonder how many Fig poultices I could sell online before the FDA shut me down? I could offer a free loaf of Ezekiel Bread with every purchase.
I'm enjoying your humor! :giggle: I'm also thinking that I would like to eat some figs! I've never heard of Ezekiel Bread but that sounds good, too! :D(y)

Interesting question....usually all answers MUST be found in the Bible, however, with your question - the prayer will be found in the Bible but the answer to your Bible Trivia question will be an opinion....:love:(y)

I'm trying to decide between Numbers 6:24-27 and Ephesians 1:17-21....
Numbers 6:24-27 King James Version (KJV)
24 The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:

25 The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

26 The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

27 And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them.

Ephesians 1:17-21 King James Version (KJV)
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

So, I'm thinking it has to be the Salvation Prayer that involves repentance and confessing the Lord as Savior....

Acts 2:38 King James Version (KJV)
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Romans 10:9-10 King James Version (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

I am new here but I'd like to contribute with my opinion/answer to that. I think the most important prayer in the Bible is the one that the Lord Jesus prayed for us in John 17.

20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— 23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
25 “Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26 I have made you[e] known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”

The ironic thing about this is that the cakes that Ezekiel was to cook over a fire made with cow dung (at first it was supposed to be human poo but he asked God not to make him cook it with human poo, so God told him he could use cow poo instead) were made using the garbage crops that were not usually used for normal bread. It was a prophecy about the famine that they would suffer when they would be under siege because of their sins.

I don't think it is a secret recipie for healthy bread. I am not saying what they have made that they are calling Ezekiel bread is not healthy, it probably is. However it is not exactly what Ezekiel made which was nothing but crap. It was a judgment warning. But some genious said "Oh look special health bread in the bible, Let's package and sell it as a Bible Health Food" and so they did.

And people who don't read carefully try to make it also, not using the bible recipe but the one their friend told them was from the Bible, (but they did not verify) and now we have ladies meeting together from the church baking Ezekiel Bread and trying to pass it off as a healthy cure for what ails you and their husbands just which they would stop. :(

This is from Matthew Henry. You can find similar commentaries that back up their sources.

1. His meat, for the quality of it, was to be of the worst bread, made of but little wheat and barley, and the rest of beans, and lentiles, and millet, and fitches, such as we feed horses or fatted hogs with, and this mixed, as mill corn, or as that in the beggar’s bag, that has a dish full of one sort of corn at one house and of another at another house; of such corn as this must the prophet’s bread be made while he underwent the fatigue of lying on his side, and needed something better to support him, v. 9. Note, It is our wisdom not to be too fond of dainties and pleasant bread, because we know not what hard meat we may be tied to, nay, and may be glad of, before we die. The meanest sort of food is better than we deserve, and therefore must not be despised nor wasted, nor must those that use it be looked upon with disdain, because we know not what may be our own lot.

The history also came to past that they were under siege for the number of days prophesied and they scraped up pieces from the bottom of barrels and bags to try and find something to eat. But they really did have to use man poo to burn to cook it because they ran out of fuel to burn. This is the message behind the recipe.

I was also thinking the one the Lord Jesus taught to the Disciples;

Our Father, Who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name...
Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done,
on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory,
For ever and ever.
Amen.
