the only thing that I can think of that could prevent the entire population of hell from repenting is by the taking away of their free will

but I don't see how you could reconcile that with the character of God ???

We are born into a state of becoming.

Eternal primarily means changelessness.

Once we enter eternity we enter a state of changelessness.

Those in hell entered eternity rejecting Him. They will reject Him eternally.

Has nothing to do with free will. It is appointed unto man to die and then the judgment. Christians are passed from judgment unto eternal life because they have sought the mercy of God in Christ. Those who die in their sins are attached to their sin and will perish for all of eternity because Gods wrath abides on sin.

Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

For the cause of Christ

if nothing changes at all in hell, does that mean no one can make decisions or think about anything ???

and therefore free will no longer exists ???

God knows.. We don't..

People can only speculate.. Speculation is not confirmed fact.. It is only speculation..

We will find out on the day of judgement.. It's all in Gods wise and capable hands.. Trust Him..

I know this is going to be hard to believe because I found it hard to believe until it happened to me. My ex was always about let's go here and take pictures of the orbs orbs this or that. I thought to myself what a fool. Then I witnessed 5 to 7 dark orbs in my room when I was trying to go to sleep. I felt the raw evil that the Bible speaks of. It doesn't want to scare you it doesn't want to hurt you it once nothing more but to consume you. You will have no recollection of life it will take you and everything you know away you will cease to exist in this evil. Believe it or not I don't care I know what I felt and I know what I was allowed to feel.

It may be that is part of the prison.
Free will only really exists in a free world with God in authority.

It's why our message to mankind is so urgent.

Focusing on stuff like this is not healthy. Focus on God and his Son who defeated death, hell, and the grave. Greater is he that is within us than he that is within the world. We are to put our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and fear not.

if free will exists in heaven, does that mean it's possible for people in heaven to rebel against God the same way some angels did ???

In this life we are always praying that our will matches the will of the Lord. we are instructed to pray thy will be done. We are still in imperfect fleshly bodies here on earth. I don't think heaven will be anything like this because before making it there we will be changed in a twinkling of an eye. This imperfection will take on perfection. To me that means we will be totally and completely holy and completely aligned with the will of the Lord .

And I'm pretty sure that someone who wants to go to heaven and rebel is definitely not truly saved and wont be making it to heaven.

Love requires freedom. There is no love in hell. So I can't see how a will can be free to decide anything. Thinking I would imagine is limited to thoughts during life.

if thinking occurs in hell and involves changing from one thought to another, wouldn't that go against your idea of hell being a state of changelessness ???
