“Rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28).
“The soul who sins shall die” (Ezekiel 18:20).

Real, living people enter hell in bodily form and are destroyed both soul and body. The fire from God out of heaven will fall upon real people and blot them out of existence.

“The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:10).
“I turned you to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all who saw you. … You … shall be no more forever” (Ezekiel 28:18, 19).

The devil will be cast into the fire, and it will turn him into ashes.

15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

“For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more. … The enemies of the Lord … shall vanish. Into smoke they shall vanish away” (Psalm 37:10, 20).

Sin and wickedness is not immortalised it will be incinerated and the universe will be cleansed, To keep it locked up or to hold it alive is unwise when God can completely blot it out.

The body goes to the grave, not hell.
Da
The wages for (or the result of) sin is death, not everlasting life in hellfire. The wicked “perish,” or receive “death.” The righteous receive “everlasting life.
“The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
“Sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death” (James 1:15).
“God … gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

The wicked are not gifted eternal life.
the wicked do not live for ever, death = death not life in hell.
Hell isn't life. It's spiritual death.

That is not what that verse says...
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

It doesn't say anything about turning the devil into to ashes...It says he shall be tormented day and night forever.

The Bible does not tell us how long the wicked will be punished before receiving death in the fire. God does specifically state, however, that all will be punished according to their deeds. This means some will receive longer punishment than others, based upon their works.
If God makes someone burn for 1000 years because they were bad for 70 years, i can't call God just or fair or loving.
Are you judging God's justice? The intentions of his heart? His righteousness?
It certainly sounds like it. :devilish:

The verse you quoted says he will be thrown into the lake of fire and tormented day and night for ever and ever. So how do you deal with that?

Ezekiel 18 is simply talking about physical death.
19¶Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live.

That means Jesus died and then His living Spirit went to preach to those in prison before resurrecting. They were given the gospel and you can't have the complete gospel message without the crucifixion. Next Jesus resurrected.

In John 5:25-29 says the bad and the good, the dead and the living, will be resurrected and judged. So death, resurrection, then judgment? Then there is a delay between death and judgement. The important question here is where are these deceased people waiting before the resurrection?

This infers that there is a prison in the afterlife and that Jesus can go there, but it isn't identified as hell. However, that does not mean it isn't hell.

It does raise important questions about why someone would be given the gospel after judgement and sentenced to hell.

Therefore, it is logically inconsistent to say the spirits in prison are in hell. This only makes sense pre-judgement in the afterlife. This is where the idea of purgatory comes from.
Your right. When Jesus joined the souls of the dead how many that went with Him were perfect? How did they become perfected? Their imperfections must have been purged by Jesus.

change their minds, when they are in hell ?
once you're in hell, there is no leaving.
there are no exit doors in heaven or hell.
its a one way entry only.
wasn't there an exit door in heaven when angels rebelled against God and were cast out of heaven ???

is it possible for them to change their mind and start wanting to be with God ???
Even if they did it would be impossible. Today the only way to be saved is by receiving Jesus in the way in which God requires .

thats because satan/lucifer, became prideful, and wanted God's position.
so, God gave satan his marching orders, along with the angels who wanted to depart.
thats pretty much the only time, someone has exited heaven.

if that has happened before, what is stopping it from happening again for humans ???
