We are saved by GOD's Mercy and through the work Jesus has done on the Cross, and not by our works We also have to repent of our sins and be baptised . Will we be still forgiven, if we don't forgive someone who hurt us?
If this a part of us being saved, isn't this our work too?

No a person does not need to repent of their sins and be baptised to be saved . This is false teaching sadly . Their is a post on here also that addressees the forgiveness question .

Hello @ellie461, here are a couple of short articles that may prove to be helpful in answering your questions (from the folks at GotQuestions.org). The second link can be read and/or watched/listened to, as the the text and the video text are the same.

A verse you may want to consider when thinking about all of this 1 John 1:9, because that verse is written to/about believers, not to those who will not (or who have not yet) come to saving faith in the Lord Jesus. So it is with Matthew 6:12, 14-15 (which is a prayer for those of us who are already members of the family of God, His adopted children, as it begins .. "Our Father", yes :))

As believers, God continues to forgive us when we confess our sins to Him, ~not~ for the purpose of keeping our salvation or saving us again (as we are already saved/have already been given eternal life), but to reestablish full-fellowship with Him again (or as King David put it in Psalm 51, He forgives our sins and restores the "joy" of our salvation, not salvation itself .. which a believer does not lose by sinning).

~Deut
p.s. - here is a third article/video from GotQuestions.org that deals with forgiveness (if you'd like to learn even more). It is a longer article/video (about 8 minutes or so), but it has some very important information to understand as well if you have the time :)

Everything is simple according to God's request.
The burden of following Jesus Christ is light
Why makes things complicated? why not forgive someone who hurt us?
If we can't forgive others then we must be unhappy all life long......
Even if you get eternal life and enter the kingdom of heaven, memory will not make you happy:unsure:

We don't become a child of God through adoption . It's through the new birth. John 1.12 . The adoption is the term used in Rom 8.23 which is the redemption of the body. This happens at the end . Its our glorification. The Lords prayer is not for the church ( although, of course God won't be angry if we use it ) it's a Jewish prayer for Jews. Its corporate. " Our father " . We can pray individually and personally. Also its worth pointing out that 'Got questions 'is calvinistic so it will be generating bite sized answers from this particular worldview.

This reminds me of 2 Tim 2:15

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Focus on Romans to Philemon for your salvation doctrine, and all your doubts will be clarified.

Not being saved by works doesn't mean you should never do any good works. It just means that is not where your eternal security comes from. Forgiving someone who has hurt you badly isn't always possible through your own effort anyway. You can say you forgive and have every intention of doing so but still hold on to deep wounds. Jesus will help you though. The Holy Spirit will help you let go of things that your human self can't manage.

Don't be overly influenced by OSAS extremists who label everything a "work". His work in us is not our work.

There is a wide spread fundamental error over what repentance is included in the salvation experience. Repentance in salvation is a total change of believing in everything except Christ for salvation. Believing in Christ is everything for salvation to the exclusion of all other things.

Repenting of individual sins is part of sanctification and is a life long process. Salvation is an complete change from dead in sin to alive in Christ unto eternal life. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is that which makes us alive in Christ. Water baptism follows but is not required to be saved. Water baptism is part of sanctification and is an act of obedience akin to our desire to no longer sin the sins we were sinning in the past.

I think that is a slippery slope. Faith and repentance are closely related. The Bible defines repentance as changing one's mind which leads to a change of actions.

Therefore, it is impossible to place one's faith in Christ as Savior without changing their mind and agreeing with God about their status as a sinner and Jesus as Savior. So repentance is linked to faith. Faith is required for salvation.

Note, repentance is not a work that people produce. The Bible says that it is God the Father who draws people to Himself via His Son Jesus ( John 6:44) and He grants people repentance that leads to life (Acts 11:18). This keeps in step with the Biblical truth that people are saved by grace (unmerited favor based on God's love) through faith and not of works. (Ephesians 2:8).

The call to repentance is broadcasted to the world via Jesus Christ. Jesus said that when He is lifted up He will draw all people to Himself (John 12:32-33) in reference to His crucifixion. It is God's will that none should perish but all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)

Repentance is necessary for salvation because a mind needs to be changed about Christ. Saving faith is the result of repentance. God calls everyone to repentance and produces repentance. The Word can fall on the good soil of someone's heart, the wayside, or stony places.

How someone responds to the call determines what happens next.

I see that God ' grants ' repentance to Israel and to Gentiles .
Conviction of the Holy Spirit is necessary for salvation, but occurs to sinners alike, regardless of consequent faith or unbelief. It is not irresistible or unconditionally selective. (Jn. 16:7-11)

Repentence is breaking frame from one set of thinking to another
Meta = above . But salvation is through faith.

I think it's fine to say "through faith alone comes salvation." But saying "you don't need to repent" runs counter to the Bible. That's really the main point.

There are some people ,who we can not escape from, they are supposed to be our close ones. but their purpose is to make our life miserable and to come up with something horrible every day -abusive people with narcissistic personalities, with no remorse. What about that? People like these ones can destroy your whole life..

Sometimes there is no option about "what if".sometimes just do it,just forgive everyone who makes you anger and unhappy.

There are some people ,who we can not escape from, they are supposed to be our close ones. but their purpose is to make our life miserable and to come up with something horrible every day -abusive people with narcissistic personalities, with no remorse. I don't know if you're going through this.
Point out his fault or sin then tell him it hurts you and forgive him.I think I should be able to do it, so should you.

If you're just trying to imagine the worst things, then forget about it.

so are you a girl ? I can't imagine the problems about girls.call the police,Get a lawyer.Make him aware of fear, then forgive him.

If you're really in trouble,Put your faith in Jesus Christ with all your heart and mind.
He will truely help you through hard time.

Each time the word ' repent ' is used its specific . God repents, for example .
