Didn't the church of England obey the king and persecute Catholics too? Massachusetts was a British thereby a European colony was it not? BTW; Paul Revere never said the British are comming, he was British. He said the Red Coats (who were mercenaries) are comming.
Has nothing to do with their church denomination.

the research I have done, strongly indicates that historically, Catholics murdered and abused other people, for power and control.
My research of Christianity, suggests nothing of the sort, for Christians.
Then you will need to do better research. King Henry VIII made protestants the state religion and there was bloodshed. And for goodness sakes, I am so sorry I brought it up. My point was that it is right for us to look at our churches critically. Historically, the church needed to do that, not to bring up a discussion of those past mistakes.

I almost agree. I doubt that all of the bloodshed was really neccessary. Truly there were no hippie/Jesus freaks like my generation had then. Nobody that I've ever read about protested for peace. Both sides had blood on there hands. Just glad it's in the past... for now.

failing, worldwide ?
Do you have evidence of that ?
Follow the statistics on divorce, on one parent homes, of illegitimate births, of Satanism. I have read articles about making empty churches into homes. Read the newspapers who make fun of ministers of the church. Do you remember how up in arms the news was when a minister pointed out the that Katrina, the New Orleans hurricane could be related to a homosexual parade? Are you actually blind to the sexual habits of even the very young today?

In the 60's I was away from available TV for months. When I watched TV again I was shocked by the morals portrayed. People had been gradually brought to accept it, for us it was a sudden transition and shocking.

Your research will show you that if that is all your research is focussed on.
Not all Catholics have murdered. There have been thousands of missionaries, Christian martyrs & spreaders of the gospel among the Catholics. Catholics are Christian whether other denominations like it or not.

Misguided, but many churches are guilty of being misguided.

A lot of error in the Catholic & Orthodox churches yes but around here I get fed up with the constant bashing of them.
As if ALL they ever did was pure evil. The holier than thou arrogance! When it was many of the Orthodox who first brought the Gospel to some parts of the world and risked their lives for it. They are called Orthodox for a reason. Because they hold to the necessary core doctrines of the faith.

The Bible teach us that there is a false Jesus and Holy Spirit and in my opinion the RCC is the logic explanation for it. Having said that there are so many churches today sharing in the same doctrines that it is becoming difficult to discern. We have to know our Bibles and understand it to really see the difference. Like you I also belief that there are Catholics that are saved but they turned away from the evil of their church.

well, I don't know much about the aftermath of that hurricane.
Actually, I know very little of Louisiana as it is.
Regarding the gay parade, there is one in Sydney each year.
I'm sure those folks are proud of themselves for parading themselves in that manner.

Catholics are Christians ?
I highly doubt that.
Do Christians honour a pope ?

The church in America has changed or dismantled many of the old ways. They now offer circus shows and entertainment venues costing hundreds-of-thousands to stage, have centralized power into one man, disseminate political speech from the pulpit, adopted a "business model for growth", yoked with unbelievers, etc.
Welcome to the age of the Prostitute of Babylon - Every church is in bed with each other to varying degrees.

examples:
Evangelicals are in Bed with Russian Orthodox Catholics because of politics (abortion and gay marriage).

The New Apostolic Reformation intermingles with catholics and evangelicals.

Southern Baptists intermingle with PCA presbyterians who intermingle with PCUSA presbyterians who intermingle with methodists, luthernans and Roman Catholics.

What does the church in America need to change from wrong to right to be pleasing in God's eyes and for building up the Saints?
Eschatology is taught from the top down. about 25% of the new testament has been taken out of the hands of the church from those at the top. They have done this by getting all to believe that none of these things has happened or apply to yesterday and today and tomorrow. How about you start here.

Feet washing. Either churches do this literally (which is in error) or they don't do this at all.
And yet feet washing is commanded.
Pastors wash feet of their members, but nobody wash's the pastor's feet just like no one washed Jesus's feet.
If someone does wash the pastor's feet it is someone above him. Top down.

Who washes the Pope's feet?
Who washes John MacArthur's feet?
Wo washes John Piper's feet?
Who washes Franklin Graham's feet?
