Killing yourself is like sinning right before you die. I believe you would go to hell because you killed someone. Loving your neighbor as yourself is important. The Bible says no man yet hated his own body but nuri****h and cheri****h it.

If you kill yourself that is an unforgiveable sin, along the lines of never accepting Jesus Christ during one's lifetime or on their deathbed. Killing someone is a sin, whether it is accidental or on purpose killing. If it happened repent, suffer the consequences, and who knows maybe you will lead someone to Christ through the Holy Spirit.

No sin is ever unforgivable. If you say suicide is unforgivable then why did Jesus die for us in the first place? To forgive all but one sin?
I do believe that killing yourself is very selfish and self centered thinking, but I honestly believe that if you kill yourself, God would be disappointed in you, but you're not going to go to hell.

A bit controversial.
Lets assume it isn't a sin.
One point i would like to make is that christian's believe that satan is pushing people to said point. If he is indeed the one behind it then would it make sense that he is sending people to heaven by making them kill themselves? I thought his intentions were the opposite. and if it isn't a sin then why is satan even driving people to this point. If he isn't behind it then why is it even happening? Wouldn't it be more beneficial for him if we didn't want to kill ourselves.
Is killing yourself really a dice roll? and completely dependent on your own circumstances on whether you go to heaven or not.
Now lets say it is a sin.
I don't think saying its an unforgivable or forgivable sin is relevant, if indeed it is a sin. Rather its cutting off your ability to ask for forgiveness any longer....by killing yourself you are giving up on forgiveness. It is only unforgivable by the fact that the act of it is giving up on forgiveness by ending your life. uhh idk how to exactly explain this well but the idea of unforgivable and forgivable matters not because once you are dead, you are not in the realm of forgiveness anymore. This is an awkward analogy but it will do. If you are playing a game of basketball but are out of bounds but still decide to shoot....you can miss or make it but does either of those matter? you are no longer within the court so even if you make it the point will not count. Arguing that it is unforgivable or forgivable is similar to arguing that the shot outside the court is impossible to make or impossible to miss.....its not that it is impossible to make or impossible to miss but that it does not count regardless.
Its not unforgivable or forgivable its self evident that it cuts off your ability to ask for forgiveness by killing yourself....if you could very well live after being dead (lol) then you could ask for forgiveness.
And If this is a sin and forgivable after death then wouldn't all sins be forgivable after death? The bible does say that all sins are equal.
Also jhspy I don't entirely understand what you mean by people who kill them selves are not mentally right.... is this meaning the cases where actual mentally disabled people commit suicide or you just saying in general those who kill themselves are all not mentally right. If its the latter, I doubt that there is evidence in cognitive instability with the majority.....maybe they are not emotionally stable but i'm sure the majority are cognitively stable equal to humans who don't try to kill themselves. People don't sin when in the right spiritual mind and focusing on God and his will, people sin when they are not. that doesn't mean all my sins are forgiven without me repenting.
It is entirely up to God whether or not people go to heaven or not. But he has let us know what will create a difficulty in getting there. And yes he looks at all our circumstances but God is also a fair God to all of us equivalently....and would it make sense that its okay for one person to commit suicide and they get into heaven and another does the same but is sent to hell. Then wouldn't it only be fair if one can reach heaven through suicide than all can, therefore it would not be circumstantial.

No one deserves to be saved, even though Jesus made it so that everyone can be saved (murderers included).

Maybe in our minds murders shouldnt be saved , in our minds this could be including drug dealers, women whove had abortions, even Kng David, Nicky Cruz (cross and switchblade , run baby run but God even in the old testemant, gave grace and mercy and forgivness , love through repentance , for even what we might consider the worst sinner... and stil does today.

Murderers can be saved, just as fornicators and drug dealers and any other person who is not a child of God through the blood of Jesus can be saved!! God is not limited by our ideas or thoughts...he is God and does not need nor want our permission to save anyone!! The point is that if you kill yourself then you do not have an opportunity to ask for forgiveness for this sin and cannot be forgiven for it. It is not God chosing not to forgive but you playing God and doing the deed with no chance to ask for forgiveness. God loves us more than we can imagine and he wants good things for us...it is arrogant to think we should decide when we die as if we are God...I think that is the worst sin in this situation. God's grace it sufficient for us and Jesus's gift of eternal life through salvation through his blood sacrificed on the cross can cover any sin, although the unforgiveable sin is blaspheming the Holy Sprit...but refusing Jesus's gift!! Point is we should not consider such a thing or act on it because we then put that sin and the wall it causes between us and God and we hurt many other people by doing it and there is no going back and saying OOPS!! Takebacks!! You have no chance to correct it, to make it better for those who love you...it is over and done!! 'NUFF SAID!!

Over 25 years ago I had a friend who killed herself, and she was a christian, for some reason she made a decision to take her own life, and leave a 10 year old daughter who she loved more than herself, why she took her life only God knows, but I think that anyone who takes their own life does not know what they are doing, to this day I try to understand why she took her life, when someone is depressed to that point that they take their own life they do no know what they are doing, and there is only one unforgivable sin, and that is not accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior and that HE is the SON OF GOD.

I am in a similar situation to your friend and I know what I am thinking about doing
I love God and I know He values my life but I am so unhappy in some major areas of my life that suicide is so invitiing - to be with my saviour sooner rather than later
I enjoy less than 50% of my life, I always have done - I pray for change everyday - in myself and in my circumstances but I can't see that me staying here is advantageous for anyone
I am a failure as a mother and a wife - what use am I?

Wow... I was feeling that way not to longer ago and recently just gave my life back to the LORD. I do know this that Satan was behind my thoughts combined with too much wine. We are christians and have back slidden the devil plays on our minds. The scripture you last fate will be worst than you first. I experience that for the last seven years. Once I turned my back on GOD and was not coverd with jesus blood, Satan went after me full force. I know I love the lord and would never intentually do anything to disappoint him, but when you are batteling Satan with out a sheild and he knows whats GODs purpose for you is, he is determined to take you out.
Wait? so salvation is valid only if we confess our sins??? so that is what is dependent on not going to hell??? Faith in what Jesus Christ did for us at the cross is what saves anyone.. so if this person killed themselves but prior to dying accepted Jesus as Savior then committed a sin.. doesn't equal hell for them automatically.. how i'm interpreting what your saying is this.. I live for the Lord and I've accepted him and i tell my friend a lie (fill in reason here for said lie) then i get in a freak accident and die (before i repent) so that one unforgiven sin in your logic is going to send me to hell???? that doesn't add up.
One could argue that with suicide one lose's one's faith in Christ and has no hope and then they are apostate and go to hell.. perhaps but as several people said God is the judge and more importantly He knows the heart of the individual.

I know He has the power to ovecome anything, but unlike Job for instance, I'm unable to change
For God to work in me I have to be obediant which I just can't do
I have lots of problems and issues including mental ones, and at the end of the day if I'm gonna overcome then I have to take the 1st steps, in fact all the steps, and the last 27 years I have known Jesus I haven't found the ability or courage to do that
God has answered lots of my prayers, but I still find myself where I am and how I feel
Jesus is my best friend, and beng here on earth is painful every day - I'd rather be in heaven with Him

This is often a problem among those who advocate a works based salvation. Suicide is not the unforgivable sin. We as fallen men and women realize that there are numerous individuals all over the world with mental issues. To say that ones mental issues or a single act of desperation would have the potential capacity to trump or negate the saving power of God is ridiculous. If we are truly saved in the first place, we are saved for eternity because we were elected from eternity past, and furthermore the Holy Spirit continually sanctifies us bringing us closer to God. So, if someone is moving further from God, or apostatizes they don't possess the Holy Spirit and were not truly numbered among the elect. I don't advocate the ceasing of one's life, but to say that it's the unpardonable sin is not Scripturally accurate.

Two things, I think it's not our place to decide whether or not someone goes to hell or not. Also murder=hell seems a bit odd because of a lot of the old testament leaders killed as well as condemning soldiers who may or may not be just to hell.
