Well, been smiling alot lately, dont know why so i probably dont know what makes me smile or am losing it. LOOOOOOOOL!!!!!!

Thinking about someone special makes me smile.

A kind word from a stranger brings tears to my eyes as well as a big smile.

A smile from a child totally does it for me...a hug from a child, being told ' I yay you, or i wav you' will keep a smile on my face for a looooooooooooooooooooong time.

So, if you see me smiling, dont mistake me for a lunatic, i just have a long list of the things that make me smile. :)

Well, I cant type a whole list of the things that make me smile atm...I'll do something else instead. I'll share what made me smile last night.

When we were worshiping last night at church, my eye caught for a moment two little young girls worshiping the Lord with all of their hearts and spirit..closed eyes...lifting their hands on high...It reminded me of myself when I was a young child...and made me so happy that those little girls were getting to know God since now that they are so young...and I hope and pray they will continue to know Him and love Him more and more and will grow with Him and IN Him!...

So it just made me smile broadly and I couldn't take my eyes off of them! :)

Great idea for a thread!

Jesus!
praise music
Family gatherings in my home, being surrounded by loved ones,
petting my cat,
the smell of the mint from the boxes under my windows
The sound of a soft summer rain
popcorn
The tired but good feeling after a good workout
curling up with a good book
hugs
eating berries straight from a bush/vine
the sparkles sunlight makes on ripples of water
saxophone music
the smell of honeysuckle
hot coffee loaded with cream
did I mention hugs?
telling secrets to a best friend
funky socks
angsty poetry
dancing
the feeling of wind in my hair
wind chimes
butterflies

oh yeah and hugs

That's the stuff that makes our hearts cry in a good way - with the joy of the Lord :)

baby giggles.......
children's laughter......
that shared moment when you look across the room at someone special in your life (be it spouse, sibling, parent, child, relative or freind) and you KNOW what you are both thinking or remembering......
planting flowers........
getting something done that you have been wanting to do for a long time (sastisfaction!)..........
hugs.....
loving.....and feeling loved (again...be it by spouse, sibling, parent, child, relative, or friend)........
smiles from/for complete strangers......
when our oldest cat waits at the door for our youngest daughter to come in when she gets home..........
birds at our bird feeders......
doing ceramics/crafts with my mom or my sister (in-law)........
books...and book stores......and libraries.....
soaking in the tub.......
getting on the scales last week and finding I have lost 7 lbs!!!!!!
walking in the park..........
when our dog lets me know when any one of my family gets home......she has a distinctive bark for each person coming in the door!!!
loving other people's children and getting paid for it too! haha.........

That's cute, nana. :) No matter how ugly my work day may have been, when I get out of my car and my dogs are jumping around and wanting to love on me when I get home, I KNOW I'm home and it does make me smile. :)

Adding to mine:
bubblebaths
book stores...the smell of new books :)
when I answer my phone and am greeted with the best words ever .."Hi, Mom" :)

Watching a small child learn something new, like tying shoes
Yes totally understand this.

I dont have children but I adore my 2 year old cousin and every time he comes over I pull up a chair next to the kitchen bench and involve him in small ways when Im cooking like letting him stick his hands in batter, letting him hold handle of the knife while I hold the blade as he cuts up veges or fruit. Letting him taste and feel different food, letting him scoop up food Ive cut and putting it into a bowl.

Because of this hes discovered wonderful lessons like

Lemons are sour but yummy
I shouldnt rub my eyes after cutting an onion
You can eat most things in the garden - even snails
Melody wont let me help unless Ive washed my hands and kept them away from the inside of my diaper...

- Biting into a fruit thats perfectly ripe
- Recieving/giving unexpectant flowers
- My cat drooling when I give her rub downs
- Trying an unknown recipe and succeeding the first time
- Putting my hand into a barrel of seeds/beans/legumes
- Waking up to coffee
- Waking up to my dog jumping on my bed with tail wagging and saying "Haarrooooo!!"
- Smell of fresh bread
- Eating fresh bread!
- Grinning at a baby and seeing them grin back
- Sunbathing at the beach with a book
- Having fresh linen on my bed, then making my bed with tight corners and getting into bed
- Listening to my fiance read the bible next to me
- Listening to my fiance sing in church
- Listening to heavy rain/hail/thunder
- Looking up at the sky through tree leaves
- Stepping on crunchy leaves

I found out the lemon thing is history repeat lol. My cousins Mom is my mom's younger sister and theres 10 year age diff, and my mom was like a second mother to my aunt and apparently my aunt LOVED to eat weird things like: lemons (skin, juice, pips you name it), cat biscuits, worms, bugs, news paper, grass, buttons..
Lets just say her 2 year old son and he have many similarities :)

Seeing my son do something cute
Seeing my dogs love on my son
Imagining my ex's face on a punching bad and beating the daylights out of it.
Getting a text message from the guy I like
Seeing a couple in love
Seeing old people hold hands
Watching someone I dislike trip (I get a giggle out of it.. I'll be honest!)
Breaking a 3 inch board with my fist
Reaching a personal goal
Holding a chunky baby
Looking at baby clothes
Hugging cute little fuzzy animals.

It doesn't take much to make me smile.

Watching my cousins play.
Picking them up from school
Old people holding hands. They remind me of my grandparents.
Flowers
Sun rises/sunsets
Watching my dog trip all over himself to get to the gate when I get home in the morning.
Seeing a bunch of cars parked in front of a house. Makes me think of a party and parties mean fun times with friends and family.

There are more, but that's all I'll say for now.

The ugly little dandelions infront of my office bloomed today. Yesterday it was gloomy and raining like crazy. It looked like they didn't like the rain either, hiding away in their buds. But today the sun came out. So, did they... :) Ugly little things. :p
