i need help and advice.
i have been a Christian my whole life, I am 24, female. i have been attracted to women since I was 11, it comes naturally, its not a decision its just the way i am. I know what Gods Word says about it so i have spent all these years trying to deny it. But i dont think i can anymore. Everyone seems to have different translation/opinions on the verses in the Bible about this subject! So what do I do?

That's really a horrible sin. You need to repeant and have faith in God. The BIble does say it's wicked. "even the women changed their natural use...". You should ask God to change you.

Okay, the best advice I can give you is to NOT seek out advice like this on a Christian chat site. You're going to get all kinds of different answers from people you don't know and who don't know you. You'll leave more confused than when you came. Talk to a pastor that you know and trust. If they're worth anything as a pastor they will help you.

There is a place in the bible where Jesus says with God all things are possible. Right before that, he had told people it is harder for a rich man to go to heaven than a camel to go through the eye of a needle. His followers wondered who then would have hope? Then Jesus said, with man this is impossible but with God all things are possible. Rich people everywhere can breathe a sigh of relief. The love of money might at times become an obstacle to them, but God can help them overcome all obstacles.

I believe the same applies to you, or any of us with a struggle. With us, it is impossible but with God all things are possible! Can you fix this on your own without Jesus? I don't think so. It doesn't seem like the kind of thing people can over come with their own will power or just by trying to change themselves. I am not familiar with this particular struggle but I claim the promise Jesus made that with God all things are possible. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. Alone, this struggle would be impossible. Nothing is impossible for God though. So turn it over to him and pray about it until you are at peace about it.

I agree with Stephanie, that many of the "christians" on this site are narrow-minded and can even be cruel at times in the name of "truth." So if people on this site or not helpful, please do not give up seeking God's will for your life.

I have a lot of compassion for people in your position, espeically people like you who are Christian, but struggle with this "other part" of them that does not fit into God's perfect plan. First I would encourage you to pray, and allow God to wrestle with you on this. My experience is that when He wants us to grow, He takes us on a long and painful journey before we see the end result. So find joy in your struggle! God will not leave nor forsake you!

I must admit I am not homosexual, but am not "pure in heart" when it comes to lusting after my own gender. Homosexuality is on a spectrum, and very rarely is a person completely on one end or the other. So how about you? Do you have any attraction to men at all? Could you be content in a relationship with a man even though your primary attraction is to women?

My friend Paul was in a homosexual relationship for 20 years, but also Christian. Finally God convicted him that he should remain celibate rather than be in this relationship. That was very difficult for Paul, but he felt that's what God called him to. I don't know what God has in store for your life, but I'm guessing that whatever it is, it's not going to be easy for you and I'm sorry for that. And I'm really sorry for all the judgmental "christians" who will judge and criticize you as you faithfully seek God's help. Please don't give up on account of them!

Thank you to everyone who has given helpful advice. I really appreciate that you have taken time.

I was abused very badly until I was 17, mainly by my father, and I know that that is the cause/foundation/reason of how I feel. I do feel attracted to men, but more so to women. I am not practicing homosexuality, i just have strong feelings. I do not lust, but feel the desire to be loved and to love women, in a physical way also, but not as far as sex.
I will not be discouraged by the judgemental Christians, who in my opinion need to examine themselves.

I too have been sexually abused.... several times by several different men. I too have found in the past an attraction to women.... thankfully i have never acted on this. I would like to suggest a book to you called HUSH by Nichole Bromley. it is a christian book. It is my opinion that you will find these feeling go away with healing from the abuse you have been thru. That is the only true healing. and ONLY God can heal you. You have to forgive your self as well. that is very important.

I knew a girl in the same position as you for a long time, her brother and father had both abused her. For a long time she always felt very attracted to girls. She was always very confused by that too.
Unfortunately I don't think she ever tried to overcome like you are. Don't let whatever has happened to you define who you can be through Jesus.

Love God with all your heart and mind, and love your neighbour as yourself.

All the laws of the prophets are contained within these two things.

Find a church that is Gay friendly.

I don't think any Christians on this site are narrow minded! Who would that be? Homosexuals are not born again and the truth shall make you free is a quote from the Bible. We need truth as an answer.

Could some of you guys try to, at least, look through her perspective. I mean imagine if you tried to make yourself not attracted to the opposite sex. It would be impossible to do so. It's the same situation others have have been trying to put herself into.

You shouldn't be in an environment in which people are forcing you to change who you are. If you want to remain Christian, you should (like others said) try to find a church where it's acceptable to be homosexual.

But personally, I would not recommend going to any church because most likely they will follow the bible and the bible says that homosexuality is a sin. So even if they accept you I doubt that they'll treat you with equal respect.
