I looked it up, fearing you were going to say something like crystal meth, which is very wrong, as it turns out :)

In our interview with tommy James, he explained: "'Crystal Blue' was interesting. First of all, I was becoming a Christian at that time, and we never thought a thing about it. We never thought that doing something semi-religious was any big deal. We didn't think of it as being politically incorrect or anything like that. We just did what felt right. I wrote 'Crystal Blue Persuasion' with Eddie Gray and Mike Vale. Eddie came up with the little guitar riff, and Mike and I did the lyrics. And it just felt very right as a sort of semi-religious poetic song...

When we asked James if "Crystal Blue" is a reference to the Book of Revelation, he replied: "Yes, it is. It's out of the Bible. The imagery was right out of Chapter 19 of the Book of Revelation, about the lake of crystal, and just what John sees. The imagery was just right there. 'Crystal blue persuasion,' although those words aren't used together, it was what the image meant to me."

The lyrics, "It's a new vibration," are about James becoming Christian, but many listeners had their own interpretation. He explained: "Of course, everybody thinks if they don't understand what you're talking about it must be about drugs. But it wasn't. We were going through a real interesting time back then, and a very wonderful time. Everybody in the band, by the way, became Christian. And we're very proud of it. And 'Crystal Blue Persuasion' was sort of our way of saying that in a kind of pop record way." source

There was more, but I edited it to just the relevant stuff, and am glad you asked, because I enjoyed learning all that :D
Now that song's going to be playing in my head all day. But it's ok because its one of my favorites :D

Well, who wants to gnaw on chicken feet??? LOL
Oh gosh, my dad used to take me to some asian food market where they sold those. They also sold pigs feet.
As an asian who ate both chicken feet and pig feet, they seriously don't taste bad at all after seasoned. Or maybe I'm just accustomed to it, dunno.

I wasn't gonna say anything cuz I'd feel like a party pooper, but then I remembered that the thread title was "Speak Your Mind"

In Viet Nam, they deep fry chicken feet and sprinkle them with powdered sugar. it is considered candy for them.

Prayers for all who are suffering from the storm rolling across the US tonight. Bad stuff in Tennessee tonight and tomorrow. Pray Da Blond and Tourist are ok. JohnDB as well, and any others who live in the Volunteer State.

I realized from the reaction you gave to that post, and I am sorry if it offended you. Western cuisine is quite different from Asian cuisine in many respects, though pig's feet, also known as ham hocks, are used in soups and other dishes (beans?)...

I'm asian too (although some say we're not even though my country is technically part of southeast asia), and my parents and relatives have eaten some strange things I won't even touch lol.

Lunchtime here and I am on my first coffee.

I am contemplating dinner, though it is getting quite late here...

Almost ten PM o_O Which is just about bedtime, really ;)

So I prolly should not eat, but going to bed hungry does not seem like a brilliant plan either :giggle:

What's for lunch? :D
