GOD IS ALL knowing and nothing Is Impossible for him and GOD loves righteousness.Would It be righteous for GOD who knew that the thief would be on the cross and would not be able to get water baptized after believing HIS WORD to allow this situation but require others to get water baptized before they could be saved?
People get physically water baptized for good conscience to GOD renewing their mind.

In my experience I have witnessed that women have an ingrain desire for purity more intensive then men, they generally have a more intense desire for cleanliness and hygiene in the natural.
Power comes with knowing, knowing what God has said.
Knowing that the victory is already won, the job is done. Our sins are gone, ALL of them, past, present and future. The devil is defeated. What we have to do is learn how to walk like that, talk like that and be like that, not only even when symptoms seems to persist but ESPECIALLY when symptoms persist which seem to suggest we are still in our sins. We walk by faith not by sight.
The more we line up our thinking with God and our talking [that's important] our old ways will fall away. Don't say you are a sinner, say you are a saint ... that's what God says

Amen. They always mis-interpret the book of Hebrews definition of faith. Confidence and assurance comes from proof, facts, evidence or eye witness testimony. You are going down the same path I went as I had many questions or doubts. Soon you will be teaching and trying to help others wrestle with the same questions or doubts that once plagued you.

Yes, you should want to follow Jesus and be baptized however, that did not save you, you are getting baptized because you have made a confession in the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ. Repentance is to stop and go the other direction in this case return back to God.
The Bible says IF we confess our sins HE God, if FAITHFUL and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.
If one is truly repented the Holy Spirit will comfort them and there is no fear, but, if it is trying to use God as a fire escape to practice sin, meaning one purpose in their heart to sin, then do it and ask God to forgive them for what they are about to do and do it, then do it again, and ask God to forgive them, that is not forgiven. God is not mocked When you are sincere and not cynical HE forgives because of faith and trust in Christ completely not half-heartedly.

Something different really happens when believers join in prayer and fellowship- honestly I have seen healing real healing and really dramatic life changes when small prayer groups meet
I pray every week with a friend on the phone and the result has been astonishing

You named this thread "repentance and baptism", and, regardless of what anyone here (or elsewhere) might tell you to the contrary, both of these things are part of the foundational principles of THE DOCTRINE OF CHRIST:
Hebrews chapter 6
[1] Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
[2] Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
Again, both "repentance from dead works" and "the doctrine of baptisms", PLURAL (as in water baptism and Holy Ghost baptism), are vital parts of the foundational principles of the doctrine of Christ.
Stick with THE DOCTRINE OF CHRIST, and you'll be just fine, and pay no attention to any nonsensical comments about how such things are part of "works salvation".

Yes go get baptized.
But as for if you're doing enough or the right thing all the time.
You need to rest in Christ, understand that he did it all.
Let Jeus by the Holy Spirit do the work in you, Our works will only condemn us.
Study your Bible and pray, He will guide you into righteousness.
Read Hebrews chapter 4, about this rest that I'm talking about.
There is a passage in Revelation I think where Jesus says to the sheep you did all these good things and he gives a list and they say when did we do these things,. They didn't even know they did these good works. Why because they were just abiding in Christ and those works were produced in them by Christ.
So as live 4 him said abide in Christ. And be at peace. You can't earn Heaven but heaven has a hold of you be believing

When ever you feel moved to do so..
The Atonement of the LORD Jesus is had when one believes Jesus and trusts that His Atonement pays the penalty for ones sins.. Salvation is not dependent on us doing a perfect Work of confessing every transgressions we have ever committed during out time on earth.. If that where the case then no one would be saved..
If you believe Jesus His Words and if you Trust in the Atonement for our sins He secured by his death on the cross then you will be Redeemed upon the day of the Resurrection..
Another Work that is not essential.. But if you feel moved to do so then you will be making public what has already happened within you.. And it is nice to make a public show of your faith..

No, you do not have to be baptized to be saved, you are getting baptized because you ARE saved. Now a professing Christ would you not want your first action to be done in obedience to Christ? If that answer is yes, then follow Him in water Baptism in obeying the word of God where we are to Believe ( be saved) and be baptized.

this is true one can be saved at any time if they call on the name of the Lord I'm sure Jesus understood the thief was not going to have an opportunity to be baptized that day. however, the thief had what is known as ignorance and no more time.

You're terribly wrong in your assessment of Barton. His writings are laced with inaccuracies and outright lies, and many within the Christian community are rightly denouncing his works.

I only mentioned Barton because he was suggested to her by another poster here as a reliable apologist.
The man is a known deceiver, and I don't want her to be deceived by his teachings.

Generally speaking, however, I totally agree with you that her/our focus should be upon Jesus from the word of God.

Such can easily be denied by anyone who believes the word of God and actual recorded history (as opposed to Barton's outright lies).
