my kiddos have some Scottish heritage (from hubs)....
We were walking the trails through the woods on day and someone was playing the pips ( would say bag pips, but after phils educational post now I dunno- so I'll just say pips)
so we heard the pips and it's very interesting how at first they were like "HEY! What's that sound?" but then quickly were naturally drawn to it.

We get everywhere ha ha.. I thought everyone knew lol.
So where is Wales then? Mum has that in her background and dad Irish. There are quite a few different nationalities in my background lol. Over here they call it a mixed bag of lollies.
We have a show here called Doc Martin. I'm not sure if that is filmed in Wales, UK, Scotland or Ireland. One of them. Beautiful scenery but looks cold.

CC is good for GG :D

it teaches me MUCH more about geography and the world than I ever learned in school
One of our libraries has a REALLY COOL world map.
When you walk into the kids room there is a HUGE (half circle like) wall. They have a world map on it.
My kids like looking at all the different countries and how they relate to where we are.
I look and go "Oh Ruby lives about here...... That's where Gandy is......."
I'll have to look for Phil's area next time.

Yeah's theres tons of different Bagpipes, the oldest probably from around Greece. The most well known is of course the GHB (Great Highland) made famous around the globe through the Army.

That's cool about your heritage, you have young celts running around your house lol :LOL:

Wow, my mum was born in Wales. I'm a mixed bag myself with Irish/Scots and Welsh.:ROFL:

I haven't seen Doc Martin in ages, quite funny really . It's in Cornwall, really nice down there (SW England).

Have friends from Boness, Scotland, they were explaining to me how Scotland's people are not "Scottish", they are "Scot". That was 40 years ago they explained that, perhaps the times were different and "Scottish" is more accepted now. Phil may help me out on this.
They also mentioned Scots get they're education and then leave to make they're career or mark in the world, the Scotch and the wool are the greatest exports for them.
Gotta love the pipes, hadn't been educated that they are "pips" and not "pipes".

that's part of their heritage :)
then they get Native American (and God only knows what else) from my gene pool....

it's one reason I highly dislike forms that ask about ethnicity........
first off those forms are very vague with only a few ethnicities listed and so many people are such a mix.....
but then most won't say "Caucasian" but rather "WHITE" and HELLOOOOOOOOOOO
WHITE is not an ethnicity...... it is a color.

ohhhhhhhhhh noooooooooooooo...............
don't get going of on a tangent here now GG.............

I'm not sure what your friends mean't. People in Scotland go by either Scot's or Scottish... But not Scotch lol.
