as it is stated in the English language word for word?

I'd go with the original language (Greek) word 'telos' which closer meaning is 'mature' unless you want the English 'perfect' which happens in glory...definitely not here.

The reason you will go with the other interpretation is because
you cannot live the commandment.

There is no darkness in the Light.
