I was 7 years old and my neighbors went on vacation and came back a week later to have an american alligator (12-13 foot one no less) got into her backyard and laid eggs.
They came home and the woman went into her yard and got chased back by the retile.
Took the police and wildlife people a good hour to get the animal and her next moved
9 years old me and my grandparents came home one night to a rattling sound. My grandpa had us stay at the door and he looked under the table and it was a eastern diamond back rattlesnake.
He had a fire extinguisher and he blasted the snake with it and got it outside
Good times in the wetlands lol.

Wowser!!
I use to swim alot in Jacksonville Beach as a kid and they a few times had issues with sharks coming near the coast.
Most of the time when sharks attack is when for example when someone goes into the water with a open curt and the shark seeing blood thinks your are pray and goes after you.
Usually once they bite you, they let go instantly.
Only types of sharks you really have to watch were the great white and the bull shark (I think)

When I was 13 or 14 I woke up and looked out the window to see a moose scratching it's butt on the window flower box... It was fairly strange to say the least! Haha :p

Was out at a picnic with my family and we went to wade in a nearby creek, and turned to see a squirrel looking around inside of one of my mom's shoes, and as soon as it realized we were looking, it grabbed her sock and ran up a tree with it. My grandpa actually tried to climb up after it lol

HEY! I want to join this one!!

When we were young my brother and I used to have to walk a distance away from school, and this dog used to chase us every day home. We even used to be afraid of it, hoping it wasn't there. Well one day we were coming home and it was there and we ran and it got behind us and I think it jumped on my brother. Well, all my fear went away and I punched the dog in it's face. The dog went away crying, and I never saw it again. PEACE! lol. (And we were just children).

:D I like yall's stories!!!

I'm not afraid of roaches. I kill them. But when you're in the bathtub and a roach flies down from the ceiling vent into your bath water... that's a freak-out worthy moment.

Or when you're cool with having a pet mouse (begged mom at one time.. that was a no), but seeing one under your kitchen sink... that's a freak-out worthy moment.

Or you think the praying mantis is one of the coolest bugs, but having one not letting you go out the front door and attacking your shoe... that's a freak-out moment.

Or nearly hitting a deer with your car... happens much to often to me.

That's nothing. Mess with a river otter. Those things have very sharp teeth.

I got a couple of wildlife stories (grabs a chair and sits down)

When I was 16 or 17, my younger brother and I had gotten into a heated argument, anyway, I went on a bike ride down the country roads to let my anger subside. I had made it about 8 miles from my home and decided instead of turning around and taking the same roads back, that I would just take a couple other less inhabited streets back to the house. I ended up riding my bike down a dark country road with no lights and only one or two houses on it.

The cruise had been extremely enjoyable so far, it was a cool, quiet night, about 10 or 11PM...beautiful. When all of a sudden, I seen a dark figure run across the road in front of me. I then thought to myself "That had to have been one huge possum," then rode on.

Then, on my left side, out of nowhere, a huge pitbull darted after me out of the ditch, running and jumping up almost like it was trying to rip my hands off of the handle bars and take me down. Then before I knew it another dog ran up on my right side, barking fiercely, and also trying to take me down. If that wasn't enough.....I had another dog run up behind me.

They had me completely boxed in with nowhere to go but forward. I had no idea what the breed of the other two dogs were because at that point I wasn't looking back anymore.

I was peddling furiously, violently, thinking that if this was a dream I had better wake up soon. These three dogs may have belonged to the farmer who's house I had just rode by. Either that, or they were wild dogs. I had never seen such a ferocious, almost blood thirsty, pack mentality in any group of domesticated dogs before. I was actually fearing for my life in this moment, screaming "GO AWAY! GO AWAY! LEAVE ME ALONE!" at the top of my lungs.

These dogs chased me for nearly a half a mile before I made it to an overpass and they gave up the chase. The rest of my bike ride I was freaking out. If I heard a dog bark, or any noise for that matter, you better believe I bolted off pushing my bike as fast as it would handle. I remember this night like it was yesterday and will probably never forget it as long as I live.

HEY!! our stories are almost the same. Ya know after a certain point I might have gotten tired of running and just turn back and slug one, or all of them. That is the point where fear just isn't a factor. LOL.
