Interesting!

whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth

Listen, an uproar from the city!
A voice from the temple!
The voice of the Lord,
dealing retribution to his enemies!
As I Have Shown, I See Scripture Teaching A Future Literal Temple In Jerusalem, With Renewed Animal Sacrifice :)

Indeed. Sad but true. It didn't work last time, so why do they keep flogging a dead horse?
Or in this case, garroting a live horse?

Oh I have to agree that the temple is being built so that animal sacrifice does continue
But God has other plans
It is to house the Lord and to fulfill the prophecy that the Christ will set on the throne of david.
The Restoration of Israel, Egypt, and Syria are to take place. The Restoration of the earth after the great war told of in Ezekiel 38.
Jerusalem will have it's new name and all nation's shall come and worship in the holy city.
We as christians look for the temple not made with hands a new heaven and earth which takes place after the millennial.
The word of God must be fulfilled before this takes place for not only was it promised to us but also to Abraham.
The glory of the Lord himself shall be seen throughout all the earth.
Jesus said to learn the parable of the fig tree. Which some here deny. They then take peters reference of a day as a thousand years and apply it to the day of the Lord......not so.
We are living in the thousand year day.....it is the days of grace.
Let me explain.
There is a gap in daniels prophecy time line. That also points to the days of grace.
Jesus said when you see the fig tree blossom that generation shall not pass away untill the son of man comes.
Israel became a nation in 1948 just as the Lord said. It has been a nation for 73 years.
In the pslams I think in pslams 90 the Lord says 70 to 80 years is a life span of a man typically.
Also referring to the days of noah he gives 120 yrs. So how close are we to his return?
Jesus says we will not know the day or your but theses are the signs and seasons.
Are we seeing the signs and season more rapidly today?

According to God's time jesus has been gone from earth approximately 2 days
But was there rejoicing on the third? Yes a risen Lord...praise God.
The prophets told of Israel in mourning for 2days but will rejoice on the third.

A thousand years as one day one day as a thousand years.....😏😏😏😏

So it seems most people are debating rather if

  • Israel has become all believers and no longer a nation of Jews
  • is Israel only the Jewish Messianic believers
  • Does Israel still has a significant role to play as a nation
  • is the current nation the Israel of Revelation
  • if so then are we Biblically to support it.

1. Romans 9-11 proves Israel is separate from the church, that there are promises yet to be fulfilled to the Jewish people.

2. It's not only Messianic believers. The Bibles says the Jews will fall for the anti-Christ at first, thinking it is their Messiah. But when he desecrates the temple, they will realize the truth. The Bible says they will look on him who they have pierced and mourn.

3. Yes, Israel has a significant role to play. The end times are entirely about Israel.

4. Yes, the current nation is the one in Rev.

I have to disagree with you.
I do not believe that God had anything to do with it.
And I will debate it.
God is involved in the affairs of all the nations.
First He brings them back in unbelief then does a redeeming work in their midst during the great tribulation...

Ezekiel 39:25-29 ESV
[25] "Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have mercy on the whole house of Israel, and I will be jealous for my holy name. [26] They shall forget their shame and all the treachery they have practiced against me, when they dwell securely in their land with none to make them afraid, [27] when I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them from their enemies' lands, and through them have vindicated my holiness in the sight of many nations. [28] Then they shall know that I am the LORD their God, because I sent them into exile among the nations and then assembled them into their own land. I will leave none of them remaining among the nations anymore. [29] And I will not hide my face anymore from them, when I pour out my Spirit upon the house of Israel, declares the Lord GOD."

Israel is the Church though. This is spelt out throughout the Gospel.
Paul even goes so far as to say that "A Jew is someone who follows Christ (whose heart is circumcised)".

But Paul also says there are two Israels - so in effect there is no need to beat up on this.
He also says that the Church under no circumstances is to lord it over Jews.

And really Paul strikes at the heart of what makes Jews Jews and Christians Christians in talking about circumcision.
A Christian believes in the circumcision not done by hands.
A jew is someone physically circumcised into the obsolete Old Covenant.

Exactly. (y)

And the parts I bolded ^ correspond with (the reference I put earlier) Ezek37:12[21], which says, "...I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, AND BRING YOU INTO THE LAND OF ISRAEL"... which, in context, is speaking of Israel coming up out of the graveyard of nations... where scattered (...where "SOW[N] [H2232]... unto the earth"); which is entirely distinct from the "burial" thing [in literal "dirt" ;) ] that happens in 39:11-16. ;)

[I find that many ppl think the "dry bones" prophecy is speaking of US (the Church WHICH IS HIS BODY) "getting a new heart... someday... hopefully... if they can possibly make the cut for the right 'resurrection' [by means of their self-effort]," ...as they suggest this passage means  ]

Amen

We were never one nation which was divided into 2 nations
We were never scattered to other nations because of our sin

This alone proves it is not the church.

Jesus Christ wont be found anyplace upon this earth, starting a Millennial Kingdom upon his return as many claim

Jesus warned his followers against such teachings

"Beleive It Not" "Go Not Forth"

Matthew 24:23-27KJV
23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
25 Behold, I have told you before.
26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Gods future is with the Jew in the "Remnant Church" the elect Jew who is chosen, those which he foreknew.

Yes Jesus Christ has a future plan in a geographic location on this earth Israel Jerusalem, and yes he will be dealing with a specific people that are awaiting upon a Messiah to return, in sending them a strong "Delusion" that they should believe a lie, along with the world

Yes the future Antichrist of Daniel will be a Jew/Hebrew, as he's described to being in their spiritual decent

"the elect Jew who is chosen, those which he foreknew."

You're not following Paul's argument very well.

The "people which He foreknew" (v.2) is speaking of the same "people" that v.1 had just mentioned ("Israel" from the OT times... *THAT* kind of "before")...

...and then in v.7 says, "WHAT THEN? Israel [same ppl as vv.1-2 had spoken of] hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, AND THE REST WERE BLINDED / HARDENED"... and then v.25 goes on to inform, "blindness [/a hardening] IN PART is happened to Israel UNTIL..." ... and that is the thing you are overlooking / bypassing in this CONTEXT (vv.25-29,15)... the "UNTIL" issue. ;)

I am confused here KG. You mention one nation being mentioned in Revelation, that one being Israel. Can you extrapolate?
I see 195 nations mentioned 21 times, so in all 4095 mentions, if you like, of which 21 would be Israel.

What do you mean 'entirely about Israel'? It seems a bit of a sweeping statement, given that people of all tribes of the earth mourn when Jesus returns, etc etc.

Old covenant Israel is clearly separate from the Church, agreed on that fo sure. But say more what you think, if you're not too busy

But the bottom line KG surely is the same one as 2000 years ago. Choose life or death. Choose Jesus Christ or choose to be endlessly under the cosh, cursed, attacked by your neighbours, etc etc. I don't say these things with any joy - far from it, I find what is going on in the Middle East really horrifying, and I know as Christians we are not supposed to live in fear, but frankly, I think it is also quite frightening for the world.

"Endlessly" in the informal sense. Obviously (I hope) God's curses are not eternal, but rather only last for fixed periods - time enough for us to get right with him.
