// if the fact that Jesus is our truth, reward, and faithfulness does not permit us to lie, steal, or fornicate//
Could you quote anyone that teaches this ? Just one teacher ? Anyone that teaches the bible ' permits ' us to sin ? What churches have you been to ?
There are many that "Falsely Teach" that the 7th Day Sabbath in the Ten Commandments, no longer applies to the Church today, in my opinion (A Lie)

Matthew 5:18-19KJV
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

We Will Disagree, If You Love God And Your Neighbor You Will Fulfill The 10 Commandments As Explained

Example: Has Thou Shat Not Kill, Commit Adultery, Steal, Idolatry, Etc been removed (No)

The words of Jesus Christ Upheld The Ten Commandments, And His Words Simplified The Observance Of All 10 Into Two, Commandments Unto God, And Neighbor

The scripture below used by many to suggest, that "Sabbath" observance has been removed if one loves God and his Neighbor?

The scripture below enforces the Ten Commandments, as there are commandments that apply to God, and the others apply to the neighbor

Example: If you love God, you wont use his name in vain, commit Idolatry, and will keep his Sabbath Day

If you love your Neighbor, you wont kill him, steal from him, or covet his wife or property

Matthew 5:17-19KJV
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

At No Time Has Jesus Christ Replaced The Ten Commandments As You Claim, Just One "Clear" Example Is Seen In Matthew 19:17-19 Below

Matthew 19:17-19
17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself

Matthew 22:37-40KJV
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
If we are forgiven by Jesus and aren't justified by law keeping, yet are supposed to keep the commandments, then Jesus gave us two commandments, then we're supposed to love God and our neighbor.

We can't fake loving God and our neighbor, but people can plaster on a fake smile and show an outward sign of righteousness by law keeping. That was the sin of the Pharisees.

We cannot trick God into thinking we love Him by law keeping, but He can give us a new spirit and new heart that really does love Him and seeks to honor Him in every way

"2 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the Lord: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death." Exodus 35

Is that what y'all do at your church? Anyone who "works" on Saturday, you and the leadership of your church "put to death"??

____________

2 Corinthians 3 -

7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: 8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? 9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. 10 For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. 11 For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.

Your soft spoken words are contrary to scripture, will you be least or greatest in the Kingdom? :)

"Jesus Is The Lord" Of The Old Testament, His Ten Commandments Are Seen In Exodus 20:1-17

Exodus 20:8-11KJV
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

John 14:21KJV
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

John 15:9-10KJV
9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

Revelation 14:12KJV
12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

You can't keep the sabbath once you broke it which you have done more than once. So I ask you what do you do when you break the Sabbath?

How do you atone for breaking the Sabbath?
If you are a believer in Sola Fide I don’t think it matters...

According to Sola Fide, during justification Jesus cloaks the believer’s soul in his perfect righteousness. It’s not your righteousness that justifies you, it’s Christ’s righteousness. That justification is once and for all, Christ has made his judgement.

So if it wasn’t your righteousness that justifies you in the first place and your soul is cloaked in the perfect righteousness of Christ, what sin is powerful enough to penetrate that?

Sola Fide is justification is by faith alone. it is the faith in what makes one justified. it is the complete work of the Cross that we place our trust and faith in. The Lord Jesus Christ.

If the justification is once and for all then If I understand you breaking the Sabbath is not a concern because you have already BEEN JUSTIFIED?

if breaking a law of God happens after Justification, there is no repercussion for doing so. If that is the case why does one try to obey it?

Well that’s my point I guess. If a believer has been given faith and Jesus justifies him and that cannot be revoked (which is what Sola Fide states) then you can’t be held accountable for that sin in the future.

You are cloaked in Christ’s perfect righteousness...when God sees you he see’s Christ. According to Luther, it was the alien righteousness of Christ that justifies you, not your own righteousness.

I think where the disconnect is coming from what most leave out after they claim justification. it's called holiness. To which NO one will see God unless they are holy as He is holy.

The holiness is inward by God through the Holy Spirit and outward to the lost world who sees your Life before them as one that is unto the Lord. it is not just one thing but a life that has been given over to the Lord Jesus that one will Be justified.

yet one has to be sanctified and go through the process for the earthly life and live holy unto the Lord so those lost may see your walk before them.

you have:
salvation
sanctification
Justification
Obedience
faith
love

all these work together it does not punch a ticket on each it is a constant living before the Lord as HE helps us by the Holy Spirit and his word.

In Sanctification you are made holy. If Sanctification happens before Justification, then your soul is without sin at that point. That soul is no longer unholy.

However, Luther said our souls were dung just before Justification and Christ covers the dung with his perfect righteousness. How can your souls be dung/sinful if just before Justification it was sanctified and made holy?

Romans 3:21KJV
31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

James 2:17-26KJV
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

No, your whole life on earth until Jesus calls you home you are in a sanctification process that is ongoing of:

  1. transforming your mind by the word of God
  2. growing in the grace and knowledge of the Lord
  3. walking in the Spirit
Justification :

You are guilty but have been found not guilty of Judgement Because some else took your punishment. They died for your breaking of the law, so to show your appreciation for that YOU Live their LIFE as IF they were still alive because You were brought with a price, by the precious Blood of Jesus.

So based on that ^, you believe no one is sanctified till the end of their life? If that’s correct, that would also mean Justification doesn’t occur till that point either?

no, it doesn't, sanctification is a process of being set apart.
Your mind is being renewed unless you have arrived and have no need to continue to be made into the Image of The Lord Jesus.

Justification:

Though justified and credited with the righteousness of Christ, believers are also “created in Christ Jesus to do good works” (Ephesians 2:10). Moreover, they are charged in their daily lives to be “filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:11). So the actual working out of the righteousness of Christ in the believer is an ongoing process.

It involves purposeful and progressive spiritual formation, as aptly illustrated in 2 Peter 1:5–8:

Make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. (See also Romans 6:12–13; 8:13; Colossians 3:1–5.)

Those believers in Colossians were being judged for keeping the Sabbaths and New Moons

These New Moons and Sabbaths are "Eternal" and will also be observed in the New Heaven and Earth

Colossians 2:16-17KJV
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Isaiah 66:22-23KJV
22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain.
23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.
I think the New Moons have more to do with the Tree of Life bearing "12 manner of fruit 12 times a year" than fulfilling a requirement of the Mosaic Law - Paul says the New Moon ritual of the Mosaic Law was nailed to the Cross.

The ten commandments -

-- And as soon as he came near the camp and saw the calf and the dancing, Moses' anger burned hot, and he threw the tablets out of his hands and broke them at the foot of the mountain. (Exodus 32:19( Stone written by God's finger destroyed)).

The ten commandments written down by Moses the second time.

-- And the Lord said to Moses, “Write these words, for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.” So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights. He neither ate bread nor drank water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments. (Exodus 34:27).
God wrote them first - and what He carved out of the mountain and wrote therein the Bible says "stands fast forever and ever" (Psalms 111:7-8 KJV) while the Law of Moses was nailed to the Cross.

Romans 6
Easy-to-Read Version
Dead to Sin but Alive in Christ

6 So do you think we should continue sinning so that God will give us more and more grace? 2 Of course not! Our old sinful life ended. It’s dead. So how can we continue living in sin? 3 Did you forget that all of us became part of Christ Jesus when we were baptized? In our baptism we shared in his death. 4 So when we were baptized, we were buried with Christ and took part in his death. And just as Christ was raised from death by the wonderful power of the Father, so we can now live a new life.

5 Christ died, and we have been joined with him by dying too. So we will also be joined with him by rising from death as he did. 6 We know that our old life was put to death on the cross with Christ. This happened so that our sinful selves would have no power over us. Then we would not be slaves to sin. 7 Anyone who has died is made free from sin’s control.

8 If we died with Christ, we know that we will also live with him. 9 Christ was raised from death. And we know that he cannot die again. Death has no power over him now. 10 Yes, when Christ died, he died to defeat the power of sin one time—enough for all time. He now has a new life, and his new life is with God. 11 In the same way, you should see yourselves as being dead to the power of sin and alive for God through Christ Jesus.

12 But don’t let sin control your life here on earth. You must not be ruled by the things your sinful self makes you want to do. 13 Don’t offer the parts of your body to serve sin. Don’t use your bodies to do evil, but offer yourselves to God, as people who have died and now live. Offer the parts of your body to God to be used for doing good. 14 Sin will not be your master, because you are not under law. You now live under God’s grace.

Slaves of Goodness
15 So what should we do? Should we sin because we are under grace and not under law? Certainly not! 16 Surely you know that you become the slaves of whatever you give yourselves to. Anything or anyone you follow will be your master. You can follow sin, or you can obey God. Following sin brings spiritual death, but obeying God makes you right with him. 17 In the past you were slaves to sin—sin controlled you. But thank God, you fully obeyed what you were taught. 18 You were made free from sin, and now you are slaves to what is right. 19 I use this example from everyday life because you need help in understanding spiritual truths. In the past you offered the parts of your body to be slaves to your immoral and sinful thoughts. The result was that you lived only for sin. In the same way, you must now offer yourselves to be slaves to what is right. Then you will live only for God.

20 In the past you were slaves to sin, and you did not even think about doing right. 21 You did evil things, and now you are ashamed of what you did. Did those things help you? No, they only brought death. 22 But now you are free from sin. You have become slaves of God, and the result is that you live only for God. This will bring you eternal life. 23 When people sin, they earn what sin pays—death. But God gives his people a free gift—eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Amen, I like the KJV version:

16 Know ye not, to whom you yield yourselves servant to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey,
Whether sin unto death or obedience unto righteousness?

Good day, Phoneman,

Those in Christ are not under the law by any means,
Hi there, A! When the Bible speaks of "not under the law, but under grace", it means "not under the condemnation of the law" because now we "keep His commandments and do those things which are pleasing in His sight" (1 John 3:22 KJV).

Proof?

If you speed down the highway at 100 MPH and get pulled over, you are now under the condemnation of the law against speeding - guilty as a fox in a hen house full of feathers.

If the cop decides for no other reason than his kind heart to let you go, you're now under grace - no longer condemned.

If you say thanks, and then jam the accelerator and pummel the cop with gravel as you speed off down the highway again at 100 MPH, does that grace allow you to violate the law against speeding?
