Well God is no present in the minds of all as far as I understand it. People need discerning tools to live better. It helps us discern good actions from bad actions. Not everything is covered in the bible as to what we should or should not do.
not everything is covered in specific detail, but enough is there that we can infer from it what's wise in whatever other situation we find.
by being discerning, by analyzing both the scripture and what we're presented with in our lives, we can see what's right and what's not.

however if we're always looking back to a user's-guide or rulebook to decide what is good or not, then we don't really *know* righteousness. we're just following instructions, and what we 'know' is "how to follow instructions"
if our hearts are righteous, and a righteous spirit lives in us, then we don't need a law to tell us 'this and this are wrong' -- we'll know because we'll recognize good and recognize evil in whatever form they take.

we can learn that by constant practice, like, learning a sport or any body of knowledge in schooling: when it's been internalized and we've apprehended it, we don't even consciously think about how to hit a baseball or or understand a language. we just do it; it's in us.
practice doesn't change our hearts tho, it only makes our body & brains used to certain actions and thoughts. for our hearts to become wise, to become righteous, to become loving, to become discerning -- they have to be changed by an outside force. we can train ourselves to overrule them, by looking at laws and practicing them, but we don't change their nature, not by ourselves. if we're only a religion of works and obedience to guidelines, then all we're doing is outwardly masking our natures, imposing behavioral and mental strictures on a heart that's not necessarily in line with any of them.

so God has to save us. God has to change our hearts. this isn't something possible for us to do -- but if He has, and He's given us a heart that desires what is right, then it's really not so difficult to discern what we should or should not do. we just have to practice reigning in the will of our bodies ((which includes our brains)) that is opposed to righteousness. for that we don't necessarily need a 'law' to look to, when we become mature, having control over ourselves. we just need love: as God defines love. and love is something that has to be given to us, from God, and received, to be given out again to God and to others

While what you said is very interesting, I just have to ask you, why do you expect the expected? For instance, the asteroid. You have an expectation that we'll see it coming or we know it's coming. But, God has declared that he has set everything in the heavens in its place and what is to stop him from just picking up a rock (or a mountain sized chunk of iron) and hurling it at the Earth while we're expecting another one to hit us later from another part of the sky?
This suggests that God doesn't want repentance, but God says He would that all men would repent. God gives us prophecy to build our faith in whom God is. Why does God want to bring Wrath without giving warning? That would mean God's heart is content with men going to hell, it's not. He warned Nineveh and they repented !! God/Jesus warned us what to look for thus before it happens he desires that many, many people repent and turns unto Him. He doesn't want to just wipe out people, he wants them to repent and turn to Him.

God indeed sets everything in motion, that is why it is God's Wrath. But if you were not saved, and you heard this, repented, thus you could make the Pre Trib Rapture and be in heaven, avoiding the coming Wrath of God, that is God's desire. So why would God want to secretly bring Wrath? That is, not His nature, he always warns first. It's like you think He doesn't want us to know, that is not how God operates, the Prophets were all about telling us what God expects, what God wants, and how God wants it done. And if we do certain things (Repent and accept Jesus) God counts that unto us as Righteousness, even though we are unworthy of His mercies.

In short, God wants us to know, and to repent.

God himself tells us the purpose of prophecy, It is to show the world who he is and that he is the one true God as only he can prophecy of events thousands of years in the future, and they come true to a T, with no question.

As it says in scripture. If a prophet prophecys, and that thing does not happen. He is a false prophet and shall not be listened to.

As someone said earlier. The suffering servant prophecy was so literally fulfilled. No one can question it. We also see part of Daniels prophecies, that have literally been fulfilled.
using this as our guide. If past prophecy was literally fulfilled. Then future prophecy will also.

We may not know the day, or the hour or even the decade. But what we can know beyond a shadow of a doubt, If God says it will happen. it will.

No. The abomination of desolation is the image of the Beast (Rev 13). And it must stand in the Holy Place of a future temple in Jerusalem (Mt 24:15). To God, all idols are abominations (because they stink in His nostrils), but since the Beast (the Antichrist) also claims to be God, this is an abomination which triggers the judgments of God as described unto the 7th seal. The lead to desolations on the earth.
Okay, I think I understand that's the thing to come. Well, I'm not going to say I understand because I don't really. I told another poster that replied to me that I kind of understand the first half of the book of Revelation, but definitely and struggling a LOT with the second half.

That's not really true, it just takes a keen person to understand the whens.....like the three Wisemen or King Herod's men who understand the birth of Jesus was prophesied and thus they tried to kill baby Jesus.

Should we look for a date of the Rapture? No, we can't know the day nor hour, but a keen man understand the Day of the Lord event happens 3.5 years into the 70th week, and thus the Mountain (Asteroid) that is cast into the Sea in Rev. 8 should be looked for, not the Rapture and then by subtracting 3.5 years you can get the Season of the Rapture. Now we know why Jesus told us to look to the skies. We can see these things years in advance now, so how can a SPACE ROCK slam into us without us knowing it's a possibility? It can't, so, we need to look for the Signs in the Skies, and Apophis is scheduled to come within 19 k miles of the earth on April 13, 2029, and that is 10 TIMES closer than the moon !! By looking around me, I can see it is time for the Lord to show up, so why would I not see Apophis as being the DOTL ? And thus 3.5 years before that would be the FALL of 2025. I am expecting to be on my way to heave in the fall of 2025. I hope very much that this comes to pass, I despise this evil world.
NASA says that's going to be a "fly by." Do you think it will crash on Earth?

Biblically, dreams were often a vehicle for prophesy.

Taking a dive into the deep end for a moment... If God works in mysterious ways, what if time is non-linear and events in prophesies are actually just segments of time that have already occurred?
As the Lord said he knows the end from the beginning.
Our days are all ready seen by God. The bible has a beginning and end it's all been seen.

The Book of Revelation is a warning to those who are not in Christ. Every one needs to repent before it is too late. It clearly lays out all the judgments to come under the wrath of God against the wicked and the ungodly. But it also includes God's eternal plans and purposes for the Church.

I think that some of Daniel and Ezekiel are also describing events. There's dots to connect in the three.

Yes indeed. and with something coming within 19000 miles, if anyone tells you it can come close enough to affect satellites but THEY KNOW for sure it's not going to hit, they are lying, a SUNBURST could change the direction ever so slightly at any time they know this, you only project via the conditions, a minor degree here or there 8 yers later can be an epic change of course.

Okay, I think I understand that's the thing to come. Well, I'm not going to say I understand because I don't really. I told another poster that replied to me that I kind of understand the first half of the book of Revelation, but definitely and struggling a LOT with the second half.
I start with Chapter 6 in this linked thread and explain from there on all of Revelation. I am changing my AC Compressor today, but I can answer any questions you might have on Revelation/End Times when I get time.

If NASA was worried about it they still wouldn't say so. But, Rev. 8, the First Four Trumps are the SAME Asterd striking the earth, it's just different phases explained by God.

God does nothing until he reveals it to his profits first. Amos 3:7.
