I actually like your posts because you provide so many open doors lol And I'm sitting here thinking, how to bring something in and I been trying to do it in pieces.
But yeah, my first post, if I insert the verse you brought forward there into it might be a little clearer, but I pulled that one from another study.
As he was headed towards Jerusalem teaching
Luke 13:23
Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
Aside note: We know Jesus is the gate John 10:9 and its by Christ we are saved
Luke 13:24
Strive to enter in at the strait gate:
for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
The man asked
are there few that be saved even as
the word remnant also means a few as He Jesus came to his own and his own recieved him not (and there was a remnant at the present time) the rest be not gathered, or blinded (as if almost at the door itself) and in the context of his own (Israel) it says,
Acts 9:27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel,
Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant (a few) shall be saved.
Seeing he says,
Many will seek to enter and not be able
Which I thought sounded a little like,
What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for
Only because of the mention of
when the master of the house has risen up THEN you (unto whom he came)
begin to stand without which seems to go with the same thing as it pertains to the kingdom they were in possesion of. Because elsewhere he says,
The Kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. (in Mat 21:43) even as elsewhere it speaks of
the children of the kingdom being cast out, (as is shown earlier in Mat 8:12). or as He says in Luke 13:28
"you yourselves cast out" at that particuar point. Or even like in Luke 3:8 where it says, " Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, when John said in Luke 3:8
and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. Then speaking of how now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees.
So backing up as is shown in the above (verse 28 along with 29)
Luke 13:28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth
, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
Luke 13:29
And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.
Then he goes into the last being first and first last in verse 30
Luke 13:30 And,
behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.
Even as God raised up Jesus first unto them
Acts 3:26
Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.
And soon after the master of the house has risen up (then)
they begin to stand without as others are being brought in
They were first, whereas the Gentiles were last
Acts 13:46 Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said,
It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life,
lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
I find these things hard to write out without and certainly dont do it as well as I would like, takes awhile to.
