So you did not do it to get saved if I read you right?

what did christ give you when you asked?

I am just asking because many claim they recieve Christ, yet we come to learn they never really did
Do we need to go back to your definition of how you’re saved from yesterday and see what it says?

Apparently you have a works salvation method now. I guess the mentally retarded, illiterate, or low IQ people can never be saved unless they follow your directions. It’s sad. God knows when you love him and he saves you when you desire it.

Go back to my definition?

I asked you a question about what you did, this is not about me

but yeah go ahead and prove I have a works based salvation. (This should be interesting). I would love to hear how I work to earn salvation

No you have a works salvation now. Because you’re saying someone has to learn something very specific before God will save them. That is not the free gift of grace that the Bible tells us God will give us. Once you believe and ask for his grace to save you, that’s all god needs to know about you. What you specifically says doesn’t matter.

That's ok, when I said one must be born again, he considered that as works based.

Perhaps he is not aware of this passage...

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (Joh 1:12, 13)

Once again I never made a judgment of anyone, I was asking you questions to determine if I thought you were saved or not. And I never said anyone had to do anything specific, you added to my words.

many people believe we must be baptized, I was asking you if you were one since you mentioned it, you normally do not say, I believed and was baptized unless you believe that. So I questioned you, and you really did not answer, as far as just believe? What did you believe? Just because someone believed does not mean they are saved, even demons believe,

You know exactly what you said. You said that child would not be a Christian until he put in the work to understand everything you said was necessary. That is salvation by works.
So, to be clear, you believe that it is "work" to understand the gospel. That seems to be your message.

If that is true, then you have no idea what the Bible says about work, or grace.

That is contrary to every theological position in Christianity about the salvation of a new believer. My Church nor any Protestant Church I was ever a member of would agree with you. They would know that child has been saved.
Salvation is by grace through faith. Eph 2:8. It is NOT by works. Eph 2:9

Demons aren’t human beings coming to God asking for salvation.

According to you, baptism is not necessary. So I don’t know why you keep asking about it. I’ve been asking you if I was saved that day. You refuse to answer a simple question with a yes or no. Yesterday you were so confident about how someone is saved and today you just don’t seem to be able to say whether a child with saving faith was saved.

I can not answer based on what you have told me.
because you have not proven to me you had saving faith, I mean you call people who have all these things you must do for salvation Christians, so should I not think you believe the same?

I am so thankful I no longer am associated with Churches that believe what you believe. There is no possible way God would not save a child that came to him out of love and wanting salvation. Apparently the mentally retarded can never be saved according to you, since they don’t have the capability to believe all the things you say. I don’t think you understand what a Christian is or what God’s free gift of salvation means.

your losing it, I have never said how a person is saved. You never asked me. You keep saying all the things I say. Your hurting your own argument, because I have never said anyone had to do anything to be saved, so are you hard of hearing or just lost as to what we are talking about,

I know what Gods free gift mean, I accepted Christ when I was 7, but all I saw was you defending works based gospel people as Christians. And now your attacking me.

what a joke man.

Let me apologize to you. I got you mixed up with another poster I was talking to, I went back and looked and saw it was crossnote. Forgive me for that.

Do you also apologize to those you ask 'what is a Christian?' (post #324) and then subtly change the question to 'how does one become a Christian?' (326) after which you attack the one you are asking because you don't agree (329) and then twist what they have said to boot (332)?

If I got prickly with you unnecessarily, yes I apologize for that. I hope you’ll forgive me for it. As to your question, you can’t be a Christian until you become a Christian so those two questions are necessarily linked. So I don’t see any issue with that.

Precious friend(s), I apologize profusely IF I have made this TOO
Complicated: How was I "saved"? faith? or faith PLUS water works?

(1) My "cradle religion" forced water on me as an infant {NO faith},
and growing up taught me "do all THEY say, and I would MAYBE
make it, after death, and after SUFFERING an UNknown amount
of time in THEIR "purging-atory." Slowly lost interest {not being
"spiritually fed"?}.

(2) At age 27, person on a phone call asked: IF you died tonight, are
you SURE you would "go to heaven"? Due to (1), honestly answered
"no." Was told "Jesus died for my sin, rose from the dead, and I could
ask Him for forgiveness, and He would do so." Did so {"called upon
The Name Of The LORD?}, and, "knew" something was Different {Saved/Forgiven?}. Great interest now, to tell others about my {not
saved yet?} "experience."...

(3) Shortly after, "advised" by some of my family I shared with, to
talk to THEIR pastor. Great, I can do that - he showed me some
{cherry-picked?}
verses about water baptism, and, I said, Sure, it's
in The Bible...I should obey "what Jesus said." {Right?} Was asked,
"Right now?" {Implying "not saved yet"?}.

I said: No, I will wait {IF I die Before then, do I go to hell?} until
Sunday service, where I gave a "profession" = "I'm glad I'm on
the winning side {as a "baby" little did I know}," then got in the
water. My family and all others in the service, clapped = happy
{that "I FINALLY got saved"? in water "works"?}

(4) Next stop while "studying" {great interest in The Bible?}
= "reformed" denomination who "sprinkle infants," causing
me More water problems, SINce "that doctrine" is not in
The Bible. Asked the leader for "info" - received a little
booklet explaining THEIR UNscriptural "tradition," so Left
them for {"closest to a NT church"?}:

(5) IFB. Surely no one will believe this, but THEY RE-baptized me!
Why is there SO MUCH water * when "trying to OBEY The LORD"?
Well, they do it {correctly?} to, not save you, but to SYMBOLIZE
outwardly what you BELIEVE inwardly {when you Were Saved?
Bible?}.

At any rate, went for a few years, taking my NOTE PAD, listening,
writing The Scripture "references" of what was preached, later
"comparing" what was said, to What The Bible Actually Said!

* Is it like “so Many spankings” growing up?

(6) Now what? to be continued..."read a poisonous book about..."
...water baptism?...IF Anyone wishes to know more...

The worst thing about chat is the anynomity!
I do not know you, therefore I cannot understand your bitterness, unhappiness, why you snap at ppl,why you always play the victim ect..ect..

This side of the glass is truly dark bc we are still flesh and WE CANNOT DESCERN THE HEART!

My motto is to live for God,FOR IT IS MY SALVATION,and it's personal to me!
I cannot live by the words of man only the words of God!

All we say here is moot, unless it can be proven by the word SPIRITUAL FOR SPIRITUAL!
