I have read the Old Testament, am very familiar with the wrath of God and how it was often directed toward His people, the Israelites when they disobeyed and did their own thing as opposed to God's will.

So I cannot help but think that that same wrath is at work RE the massive corruption and lies we see of late vis a vis our country, our govt (in the USA)...

We wonder, though, why God would punish everyone (with the fake "presidency" in the WH...), right along w/ the evil ones... Well, we Christians have been "evil" ourselves.. Who is without sin? And one of our biggest sins is not doing enough to save the unborn. I so admire those who have fought for the pro life cause by filing court cases, asking Congress whether state or federal to consider pro life legislation.. picketing abortion facilities. But a lot of Christians, maybe self included, have not done enough...

Part of the problem is we have been used to living a relatively easy life. In some ways, we Americans have had too much freedom... which... I hate to put it that way so I will say instead that we have had too much LICENSE to do evil... Sometimes the 2 are equated..

In any case, I think of a psg in the Bible

Jesus tells us that we will "inherit" with Jesus the Kingdom (Kingdom is my word, cannot recall verbatim but I am sure that is a correct word to use but anyhow we will inherit the Kingdom) if we are willing to suffer with Him. Jesus knew that the whole world would never be converted and so we his people would have to live with liars, cheats, thieves (election-stealers).... [fill in the blanks]. He knew it would entail much suffering for those of us who love Him and try to obey Him.. but He said that if we are willing to suffer with Him, we will inherit with Him..

Americans do not like to suffer. OK, no one does...

Well, some of us realize that we have to suffer just the same, like it or not... (even ditching Christianity entails suffering, so it's not like the atheists never suffer).

Catholics are taught to offer up their sufferings for the unrepentant so that they will have the grace to convert. And so, suffering need never be "wasted" or seen as meaningless..

Agreed. I don't see how He could possibly be happy with the hatred, control, and manipulation that is running this country. This is no easy place to live. We don't love each other. We are filled with hatred (not all, but as a whole).

I personally tend to think that this country (and others of course) are reaping what has been sown. God taking His hand off, is possibly worse than His punishment. The Bible says for the LORD disciplines the one He loves, as does a father the son in whom he delights. Proverbs 3:12...this does not discount Gods wrath on those who thumb their nose at Him, but it does differentiate between those who are His and those who are not.

I don't think we have yet seen what it is to actually suffer...take a look at Christians in communist countries and what they go through for a better understanding of what I mean...and unlike many, I do not think we are actually at the beginning of the end because the planned pandemic in association with the entire world being or receiving the dna altering untested so called covid vacc, is just not panning out the way it was hoped that it would. There are entire countries that have not had any vaccine and millions who are refusing it and millions who are objecting to so called passports to prove you have received the poison.

Do I think the demoncially inspired one-worlders will come up with worse? Oh yes I do.

I have personally adopted a wait and see attitude and would not be quick to say something is this or that. The devil desires to get ahead of God (examples of this in scripture, the reason being he mistakenly believes he can outsmart God...his constant failure does not seem to dissuade him for he is as deceived as he is deceiver) and he is not successful at that. God will rein in the devil until the time is according to God's plan to allow this spirit to do worse than has been done.

That's my personal take anyway.

I can understand completely if he is angry, and I'm sure he is.

Here's what I pray: "God, you would've spared Sodom and Gomorrah for just ten righteous souls - please spare our country because we have far more than that" (I hope we have far more than that!)

Since the 60's rebellion, the USA has gone downhill spiritually and therefore socially. Derek Prince warned about this in the 1970's. I don't see that anyone took much notice. Judgement begins with the house of God. He wants a clean, united and loving body where Jesus really is Head. Instead, we have controlling pastors, uninvolved congregations and dead religious observations. Mega churches simply have mega problems to deal with. Numbers alone do not mean a church is growing. Real growth is in love, grace and the knowledge of the truth. That is not just intellectual Bible knowledge. "Truth" is a Person, and His name is Jesus.

But I thought if we "bless the jews" then God will bless us? Do we need to just give them more money?

(regarding the statement in the Title of the OP)

I think God is far more angry with the Church, His people, than He is with the United States.

Based solely on my experience, Americans are seriously deluded. Basically, since WWII, a large percentage of US Christians seem to believe the US and Christianity are one and the same. Since the US "saved the world for Christianity" in WWII this proves that we have a divine mandate. What this has effectively done is blinded people to the gross apostasy running rampant. A country with a divine mandate couldn't possibly be that bad, could it?

This doesn't mean I'm unappreciative of those who fought and spared us from fascism, it just means we've taken it a bit too far.

How mad is God? I don't know. I guess we'll eventually find out.

so true... I don't where it is in the Word but I am sure you've heard the psg about how

Because of iniquity (sin), the love of many will grow cold.

WILL grow cold?

looks like that has happened... so it is no longer Will grow cold but Has grown cold..

I get a feeling of doom sometimes...

well, I don't see anything unbiblical here except maybe that god will rein in th devil... THAT does not seem to be happening! AHHH... we wish.

also... I've been thinking about what u say about people in communist countries... Sad to say, many of us christians (or do I speak for myself...?) haven't been praying for them.. I have, but only since about... some months ago.. The Steal really made me think of them..

He is the rightful president. I am so angry (speaking of wrath and all...) about how all this lawlesness is being accepted, by those in power and those not... disgusting

Well, I am not saying the following to try to sow division... although division has already been sown btwn Catholics & Protestants..

But it is the Catholic Church that teaches that human life is sacred and should be protected from conception until natural death. A lot of non-Catholic religions have ditched this teaching. We now have 65 million unborn killed, we have euthanasia...

we have massive disrespect for God's laws... in sexuality... which... I heard the saints have said that more people end up in Hell over sexual sins than any other kind of sin.. makes sense bc sex is a powerful thing... it can "take control" of a person... etc.. and some people cannot wait or so they tell themselves.. for marriage.. so they adulterate, fornicate..

in any case, this reminds me of something.. have u ever noticed how those in power do not DO what they advocate others do? I mean, Biden for example.. He hasn't gotten a sex change, but he is a-ok with others doing that. Kamala... has she had an abortion? I don't know... but you know, i am just generalizing here.... how they seem to promote things that they themselves are not doing... it's like they know these things are bad for them but (OOOOH we are shocked!!! utterly shocked) don't care about "the People"

Hey Where are you? I've often thought that over the years as well, that liberal people probably raise their kids with conservative values, but extol liberal ways of life to the masses.

By the way, I go to a Baptist church. If I ever hear the pastor denigrating Catholics or any other denomination, I will and have, get up and leave.

i think there is not enough evangelization.. but that said, I am not really the one to go to about such things, as I do not "get out too much"... don't socialize much. I evangelize but from a distance.. not face to face so much although i do that when i see I am called to do so..

Catholics do not seem to be into evangelizing but again, I'm over generalizing and since I don't socialize much... How the heck would I know?

(I dont socialize much bc I have complex ptsd... from socializing w/ the wrong people in my past)

really?

as I just said elsewhere, I don't socialize much but in my experience, I have not met many non-Catholics who were... Catholic friendly.

nice to meet one. :)

I would do the same... get up and leave if I heard someone denigrating .. say, Baptists. I actually like the Baptist churches I have been to... but I have to admit if a pastor denigrated... not Mormons but their beliefs... well... I say Mormonism is a cult.. so I wouldn't have a problem w/ that
