So the reason why Moses had a tabernacle is that they were walking through the wilderness, and thus they could not have a temple in a fixed place but pitch a tent. If you have not known, there is supposed to be another "wandering in wilderness" period. This is from Rev 12 in which vision "the woman" flees into the wilderness wherein is a place God has prepared for her to be nourished for 1260 days. I believe this has a lot to do with the fact that Jesus is our passover lamb which was once made by Israel to escape Egypt. For me, the promised land is New Earth, and I think the whole process from Egypt to Judah was a shadow.
Yeah I can’t disagree with anything you are saying

sure it’s a shadow all of it is Jesus is the light of the world and believers have light in a dark world like this

“And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days:

They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭10:22-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

it’s a shadow of the New Testament Moses was chosen to lead them out of Egypt’s slavery and darkness Christ leads Christians out of the worlds darkness and slavery to sin

the world became as Egypt idolatrous and dark from lack of understanding

“For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge. I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭4:22-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭9:2, 6-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

as Israel did in the shadow of Egypt we have light in the darkness of the world

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”
‭‭John‬ ‭1:1-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:19-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s definitely a shadow and foretelling in every way in my own opinion everything that happened to them is our example and a foreshadowing seen hidden behind a veil kept hidden purposely until the Gentiles were brought in through the breaking of Israel’s covenant

“If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭3:2-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11:39-40‬ ‭

They only ever had the pattern given Moses and revealed in prophecy Christ became the reality of those things

as far as revelation 12 , that’s the beginning of thier covenant but she is followed into the desert and disappears until you see the woman again in chapter 17 riding on the beast same woman she went from beautiful and adonrend by God to a whore defiled by the beast.

I didn't see any other point in that part of your reply, my bad. We can agree to disagree on Jesus descending from Aaron. Peace.
I don't agree to disagree. If one disagrees, I let it be. Not that I agree. (I don't shake hands in disagreement.) But as siblings, yes.
Nevertheless, if you can tell me why you think you disagree, please tell me. I don't really understand the meaning of this reply of yours.

I do not think that's exactly correct. In 12, the woman manages to escape the serpent due to the Earth. (Whatever that means.) After that, the rest of her children are targeted by the dragon. I suppose 17 or 13 could fit in 12, depending on where you place the duration of 1260 days. It's hard to tell if it occurs during the beast reign or after, and if it's the same as the two witnesses' prophecy.

Therefore, despite not having descended from Aaron, he can be considered a "son of Levi". That was my point.
Jesus lineage was through Judah ...

Hebrews 7:1

11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

13 For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.

14 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,

16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.

17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

John Baptist was descended from Levi ... John's father, Zacharias, was a priest (Luke 1:5-13). John's mother, Elizabeth, was cousin to Mary, mother of Jesus (Luke 1:36).

the woman in chapter 12 is Israel and her covenant when God first approached her in Egypt the imagery comes from here and other ot prophecy like it consider this and I think you will see it because you obviously have good understanding of scripture

“Again the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,

And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water to supple thee;.... None eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field, to the lothing of thy person, in the day that thou wast born.

And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live. I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare.

Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord God, and thou becamest mine.

Then washed I thee with water; yea, I thoroughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.

I clothed thee also with broidered work, and shod thee with badgers' skin, and I girded thee about with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk. I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain on thy neck. And I put a jewel on thy forehead, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thine head.

and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom. And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord God.”
‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭16:1-2, 4-14‬ ‭

That’s the woman in 12 the stars and moon and sun are from Jacobs dream of Israel. This is the beautiful woman when God clothes her at the first but then the second half of Ezekiels prophecy shows us the same woman in revelation 17 who did these thkngs and was deemed by God to be a whore

“But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was. And of thy garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high places with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so.

Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to thyself images of men, and didst commit whoredom with them, And tookest thy broidered garments, and coveredst them: and thou hast set mine oil and mine incense before them.

Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter, That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them? And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood.

Thou hast built thy high place at every head of the way, and hast made thy beauty to be abhorred, and hast opened thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied thy whoredoms. Thou hast also committed fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, great of flesh; and hast increased thy whoredoms, to provoke me to anger. Behold, therefore I have stretched out my hand over thee, and have diminished thine ordinary food, and delivered thee unto the will of them that hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, which are ashamed of thy lewd way. Thou hast played the whore also with the Assyrians, because thou wast unsatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied.

How weak is thine heart, saith the Lord God, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman;

But as a wife that committeth adultery, which taketh strangers instead of her husband! They give gifts to all whores: but thou givest thy gifts to all thy lovers, and hirest them, that they may come unto thee on every side for thy whoredom. And the contrary is in thee from other women in thy whoredoms, whereas none followeth thee to commit whoredoms: and in that thou givest a reward, and no reward is given unto thee, therefore thou art contrary. Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the Lord: Thus saith the Lord God; Because thy filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou didst give unto them; Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness. And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy. And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places: they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.”
‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭16:15-18, 20-22, 25-28, 30, 32-39‬ ‭

this depicts the woman who’s garments have changed colors and she is riding on the beast made of all her nations around Israel that they intermingled with and worshipped thier false gods generation after generation God took then by his covenant like a husband and from the first day when they built the calf , they contunuakly backslid into idol worship so it was like they kept committing adultery like a whorish wife

the beast is all the nations around Israel that partook of her adulteries first it was Babylon , then media Persia , Greece which resulted in romes dominion in johns day the sixth head of the beast . Where as nebucahdnezzar is the first head of the beast king of Babylon in daniels day who sees the same beast in four before and as the first rises

Israel broke the covenant and it became an eternal curse. They became cursed by the Old Testament having defiled it so the new came in Christ the whore isnosrael after they were given all thier chances to repent but never did the woman who survives is the bride Christ takes the church whether Jew or gentile based on the new and eternal covenant

Sorry for the length

the woman in chapter 12 is Israel
I'm not sure if you should call her Israel since God referred to "Jerusalem" through prophets. Jesus also. Perhaps because Jerusalem is the capital city? Also seems to be the capital of Babylon.
a small matter, That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them?
I think the fact that she caused the children to pass through the fire to Molech is a satanic way of mimicking God's tribulation through which the saints are to be "refined" as Gold. In the Old Testament, it seems passing something through the fire is a way of purifying it or sanctifying it as seen with offering made with fire. When offerings are offered to God, they have to be in that manner. So I think Jerusalem might have something to do in the end time tribulation and in the killing of saints. (Of course, it's obvious from her being drunk with the blood of the saints, but the idea that she'll the actual giver of the Tribulation is just my conjecture.)
I'd say this is one passage that aligns with the situation in Rev 17 where the beast and 10 kings are said to hate the whore. Perhaps that's signified by the dragon's pursuing the woman only to failure.

@Pilgrimshope Granted, I don't think Jerusalem = Israel because I think that Israel refers to a specific people, whereas Jerusalem is a place seemingly surrounded by 7 mountains. hence, the kind of people who would give tribulation to followers of Jesus does not need to be limited to the Hebrew descendants the blind worshippers, but can also include Zionist and backsliding Christians.

reneweddaybyday said:

I know.
God changed the priesthood because the Lord Jesus Christ is a surety of a better covenant and His Priesthood is unchangeable because He remains forever:

Hebrews 7:

20 And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest:

21 (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec)

22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.

23 And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:

24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.

25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

28 For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.

In Post #16 you stated 'Therefore, despite not having descended from Aaron, he can be considered a "son of Levi".'

God did not want Jesus to be ' considered a "son of Levi" ' ... which is why the priesthood of Jesus after the order of Melchizidek was established before the levitical priesthood, and the priesthood of Jesus was established on better promises.

Melchizedek was king of Salem (king of peace). Jesus is also King of Peace ...

Genesis 14:

18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he wasthe priest of the most high God.

19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:

20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

Christ was meant to be a stumbling block for both houses of Israel all the. Nation

“And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭8:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jerusalem is the capital of Israel is the point it’s the governing city God chose out of all the earth Jerusalem capitol of Israel. What becomes of Jerusalem is what becomes of Judah , Samaria and all Israel. Remember Jesus didn’t just preach the gospel in Jerusalem but through all Israel.

What happened is Jerusalem’s cup of fornications chosen by them from the blessing and curse of their covenant was poured out to the surrounding nations because of false wprwhip
Of gods thier curse also spread to all those nations because of Israel’s defilement of the covenant the whole earth was eventually cursed as Israel was scattered into the earth thier curse came along with them because the nations had no mercy or pity on them

The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate:

therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.

Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth.

The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly. The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭24:5-6, 17, 19-20‬ ‭

what happened to Israel she began as beautiful that also is a foreshadowing of the church we began as beautiful and pure but in the end the church has changed her garments as Israel did being defiled by the nations the church is going through it with the worlds influence

the Old Testament lead to Jesus coming with salvstion but they rejected him and thier covenant was severed and made the curse it has written in it. So Jerusalem’s destruction and desolation is the culmination of thier rebellion against God but the New Testament offered salvstion for them who repent and believe the gospel and also us who repent and believe the gospel

I think much of what you are saying I agree with even if we are saying it in a different way I think that all that Israel went through is a shadow of the church and the world

thanks for taking the time to discuss

The seven hills are the mountains and highest places where Israel built thier altars to the false gods . I know that Rome is considered the city of seven hills but biblically the seven hills refer to all the high places israel made for false idol worship and made altars on the highest points of all the hills surrounding Jerusalem

that’s only and all I’ve said is just my own personal thoughts I’m not claiming to be right in just basing it on biblical prophetic imagery and discussing with you in no authority me don’t think I know everything I’m more trying to figure it out because I can see something is there

I would say the seven hills represent the high places israel Used tommake altars to mother gods , burn incense god gave them instructions for to burn on those high altars for other gods

they sacrifices thier children to moloch and also other false gods , they worshipped in gods temple false idols and imagery they sacrificed animal blood to false gods on his altar ect

all Israel Is one Jerusalem is her head. You know how she is given eagles wings for a time to keep her from the face of the serpent the measurement of half of seven

“Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭19:4‬ ‭KJV‬

Remember the prophecy I shared from Ezekiel about Israel becoming a whore ? It’s actually repetitive even from the giving of the law and Moses song

He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:

So the Lord alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him. He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;

But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.

They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭32:10-13, 15-16‬ ‭

the image of the eagles wings is a reference to Israel being taken from Egypt and protected by Gid in the wilderness

um no I’m definitely not anti Semitic Jesus was an Israelite and any Israelite can be saved the same way any other nationality can be saved. God doesn’t see or care about our. Nationality or skin tone the flesh means zero to Christ

but yes I think in these times basically anything can be twisted into something it isn’t like racism. But the Old Testament speaking about Israel isn’t about thier race or nationality God is always looking at them through thy covenant relationship they made with him

as he looks at Christians through Christ and his covenant. Gods issue with Israel was just as a faithful husband would have an issue with his froward wife constantly going out to other lovers and then pretending they loved and we’re loyal to him

God loves Israel , loves mankind as a whole. Since we transgressed he’s been calling for us to repent and turn back to him because eventually his plan of a perfect world without sin and death is going to come to pass before this happens he’s given us a chance to partake and inherit that eternal world of peace

before the perfect comes the sinful and wicked is going to be laid to waste forever like God called Israel to repent of thier adulteries and return home to him as a loyal wife , he’s made the same call to all mankind in the gospel and the rewards aren’t on this earth and the promised land isn’t on this earth yet

He’s saving us in order to fill his kingdom the new heaven and earth

“Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This is what we all have to look forward to whether we are brown or white or somewhere in between no matter what nation we were born into

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21:1-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

if only we will attend the gospels call

“The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22:2-3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

So we can say the same thing about the woman in Rev 12 being given eagles wings to flee the serpent; God leads her out of Babylon the way he led Israel out of Egypt.

Now we then get down to this question, I think: Who is this Whore (Jerusalem): the whole Chrisitian brotherhood or the ancient Israel (if you call her Israel)?

This is one of those things in which I see very immense significance inasmuch as it reads "THEY have transgressed the laws, CHANGED the ordinance." I think this means 1) all inhabitants of the Earth sinned against God KNOWING the covenant, which would mean they've all at some point converted to Christianity (Discipleship), and 2) they're doing something scientific / spiritual within the world to modify something as in the case of Daniel 7:25.
He will speak out against the Most High and oppress the saints of the Most High, intending to change the appointed times and laws;

God did not want Jesus to be ' considered a "son of Levi"
Yeah, but that's not what I meant. As Paul himself stated "There is a necessity of a change in the Law," if Christ became a high priest, not being a Levite (Aaron's), would've contradicted the Law because he said "Not a single jot nor a stroke of a pen will drop from the Law until everything is accomplished". But since the priesthood was in the first place given by Melchisedec who was himself not of Abraham, I suppose it's understandable for a non-Levite to receive it. The reason why I even brought it up is because I couldn't swallow the fact that Messiah's being a Jew wouldn't fulfill the Law, except the fact that he CAN be treated as a Levite if his mother is a Levite.
