The truth would have to include everyone. And affect everyone who knew it.
Amen :) Though, Biblically speaking, Truth is a Person :D

That Person is a stumbling block, seen as foolishness to those whose pride blinds them.

I wonder how much time non-believers give over to thinking about and pondering the God question.

It would seem some, especially those who are online, devote a great deal of time to this pursuit.

Granted, their perspective is largely negative and hostile

A study of bondage in scripture is such an interesting study. Bondage is the opposite of freedom. The Lord tells us that he considers it bondage to believe that the rites he gave to the Hebrews to serve as schoolmasters to guide them to the true spirit of the law--like fleshly cutting of flesh to guide them to belonging to the Lord was true circumcision. The Lord considers that he freed us from that bondage. But scripture also considers bondage corruption. Romans 8:21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

Christ frees us from the sins that are bondage. We are made perfect through Christ, forgiven of all sin, we are made clean.

Before Christ, God communicated with us in stone, in literal physical ways. Even his laws were written in stone. Christ brought God to us in spirit, in our hearts not in hard rules. We are freed through the love that comes from the holy spirit within us.

John 8:35 A slave is not a permanent member of the family, but a son belongs to it forever.

Romans 8:

15 For you did not receive a spirit of slavery that returns you to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”

16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

I should have used this passage as well...

John 8:31-32 So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."

1.This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. (1 Tim 1:15)

2. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. (John 8:36)

What Christ does for us is free us from sin, and sin is slavery. Christ cleanses us from all this sin, it is forgotten, and we are free.

Respectfully, that verse does not equate bondage with corruption; it merely links them grammatically with the preposition, "of".

Regarding the Question posed in the Title:

ALL of Gods Word is the TRUTH and is the GOOD NEWS. Just read His Word to discover this is so.

We all believe that believing in christ is the only way to heaven.
Christ is the truth. He was raised by the spirit of truth, the same spirit inside God's children.
Why do so many people claiming to be children of God claim differences in the gospel? There's only one truth concerning our salvation, and you must be sure you are worshipping the true character of god/christ and his will and power. Not a God of your own understanding which is merely an idol and will not produce true saving faith.

the problems seem to come after salvation...personal interpretation etc

What are the truths in the gospel that make it the good news . . .?

The questions is really redundant - because "gospel" is good news - hence - "What are the truths in the good news that make it the good news?"

But what are these core truths? The good news (gospel) in its broad sense is all of the story of the Bible. But in the narrower climactic sense the heart of the good news is about Jesus: his life, his death, and his resurrection.

The Good news is that God himself saves sinners. This was achieved through the perfect sinless life, death and resurrection of the God-man Jesus Christ!

His sinless life - Jesus fulfilled all the righteous requirements of the law in our stead. A life of obedience. where the first man failed the last Adam was victorious. His sinless life was vicarious. When we have faith in Him His perfect sinless life is imputed to us sinners and our sin nailed to the cross. (Heb 7:26; 2 Cor 5:21)

His Death - "Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them." Romans 1:32...

Jesus paid the price for the wages of mans sin, he took our punishment (for those who believe) that we so richly deserve.

His Resurrection - Christ defeated death, death has now, through Him, lost it's sting for those who believe and place their faith in Him. In the resurrection God demonstrates His magnificent power over sin and death bringing life to those of faith. Securing eternal life for all His children in Jesus Christ our Lord, Judgement for those who don't repent! (Romans 4:24-25; Acts 17:31

That's just some of the basics of the good news. The good news is all about Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ our Lord is the Good news. The good news is God centered. (Of course it doesn't stop there. Christs sinless life, death and resurrection also help his people through Christs mediatorial role in their walk )Sanctification- Heb 7:25 et al)).

The truth of the good news is that sinners can be forgiven their sins, be reconciled to God and have eternal life through everything that God has done in Christ Jesus our Lord.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life - John 3:16

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; - John 11:25
