This is for the atheists.

Have you guys ever thought there is a higher being above you? Have you thought, "wow a powerful God exist" just for once at least? :) I mean before I was saved I thought, yeah it's possible for atleast a creator to exist, someone to build every matter that is in use right now. Do you know what I mean? Like you think and say if that was made by God....and have have a deep thought.. Would you have it again? I am now a strong grounded believer by God and the things I seen as a Christian which is of God. What I have experience would make an atheist into a religious and devoted man if they experienced it. But I would like your thoughts for I have talked to atheists before.

Just asking this question above

Thanks, God bless :)

Hey there, so what was wrong with understanding there could be a god or not? I mean it real and you can live with it.

It's fine to be curious, I'll give you my personal thoughts on everything here, but don't think I represent everyone!

To answer what you actually are asking about, yes, I did at one point believe in a god, it was the Christian god, I prayed to him and read the Bible and the whole deal. Now I simply just don't think there is a god, I'm not saying one couldn't possibly exist, I just don't see any reason to believe it right now.

But in a sense... And I suppose this is more of a response to "you don't believe in anything greater than yourself?" which I've heard quite a few times, to which I reply that I know many people greater than myself. I think there are "higher beings" above me right now. I live with two people who I consider to be higher beings in the sense that they're better than me. My older brother specifically, he's such an incredible individual that it baffles me to think about it too much, I'm so below him in altruism, self-control, ability, and intelligence. I know a lot of people I consider to be superior to myself, and then there's journalists, scientists, and heroes of any sort that inspire me. Gives me something to work towards, to motivate me to be as kind and brilliant as they are. I'll most likely never be able to live up to them but I can always try. I know this isn't what you meant to ask but I like to dispel the whole "atheists are egotistical" stereotype I encounter sometimes, but I'm aware you don't think that way! :)

I think you're mistaken about saying that if people experienced what you did, they'd believe what you do. Everyone is different, and will draw different conclusions. As for "deep thought" after saying god created something, I don't mean to offend but that seems like confirmation bias to me.

That's all I can really share, I hope you found it interesting!

Well actually the results of what I experience is...well I can't explain in less you experienced it. I think you gave up, when it seems like God is not listen to me, He is stronger because when we endure something great will happen. I don't know what the problem was for you, but He proven Himself to me. Also (not trying to bring you down or anything) you seem to not quite find what you were looking for, (search God for right motives maybe?). But thanks for the reply. :)

God bless you friend

Anything is possible but there hasn't been hard evidence to suggest that God exists. Atheists just don't like to depend on faith because it's not rational to do so. Some atheists, like me, don't have any spiritual experiences or at least don't perceive anything as spiritual. It's hard for me to relate to anyone that says they feel God because I never do. But even if I felt such an experience it would not be enough to convince me. I can't rely on the bible. I need proof.

I tell you the truth, Christ found me. I was believe use to be a atheist but when faith came in....different story. Faith is good and right unto God. When you go to the grocery store, don't you have confidence (Faith) that there is food there? Because you seen it before, and it was there yesterday. You won't believe what faith can do.. It's what pushing us up a mountain.

If you can't answer a hibernation criticism in pm, just repeat yourself to others who haven't yet raised them! pm ID: 226276

I thought I'd get a cheeky jab in anyway :D The word 'proof' is used too flexibly these days :)

With regards to the topic, I think I've entertained the thought before. I remember this one time, I was reading 'poetry' when I was supposed to be asleep, then hide the books under my pillow when mum came to check. She found them, but instead of getting told off I was praised?... Took me a few moments to rationalise it was something to with them being 'daily prayer' poems. *Thought: Mum believed it?*. To me it was just about sharing bread, various moral conducts. Thats really been the start of the God concept for me.

So you experienced that, well that I consider something at least maybe. I didn't find my way to Christ, Christ came to me and found me, I came to Him kicking and all-bad boy :D. Before I hated Him, I took pleasure in what was wrong on purpose. But then, one day I felt like well I might....do...something or something and was lead completely to Christ. Now I am on my knees everyday thanking Him. I still have ups and downs but that doesn't mean I an't Christian it shows that I am human for sure! :). (there is more to the story in the middle but I shortened it :))

Can I also ask? Does it hurt you guys to read the bible? I read some Koran, didn't sound right (speaks against us). But the bible (Christian) shows love. Have you guys read the bible before either?

I like the teachings of the character of Jesus in the Bible, almost everything he says I can get behind. However I don't believe he actually existed the way the Bible depicts him.

But really, I think there's a lot of hateful, evil stuff in the Bible outside of that. I don't think that overall the book shows love, I find many of the commandments and doctrines in it disgusting, I find a lot of the things god did in it repulsive. The last thing I felt when reading the Bible was love, that's my stance.

And yes, I've read the Bible, the majority of it anyways.

Please just to test, what verse is evil? Or where is bad in the bible?

Hmm not really when I was young I believed in him but now I don't because I really "for me" believe that we were made out of the big bang just like our galaxy and planets and our sun, what makes me believe that is the big bang (or otherwise a star going supernova) had every single element in the universe so yeah

There's lots of examples, but here's some quick examples of things I find disgusting...

God orders for lots of people to be killed, including homosexuals (Lev 20:13), adulterers (Lev 20:10), people who work on the sabbath (Exodus 35:2), blasphemers (Lev 24:16) and rude children (Deut 21:18-21)
God commands the Israelites to commit genocide and keep the virgins of the enemies for themselves.
God calls bears to maul a group of children because they were disrespectful to Elijah, I see this as cruel, they're just children.
God created hell and then judged that every human should have to go there unless they're convinced by the Bible and repent to Jesus, to me, this is the most cruel and evil thing imaginable.

I'm going to state right now, I'm answering questions here, I'm not going to have an argument that lasts 10 pages as to what someone things the Bible "really" says. I've heard all the arguments attempting to justify these verses and I simply don't buy them, I see them as broken.

Continue asking questions if you wish I suppose, I'll continue to be open.

What if I told you there is a man who can wipe your tears away? What if I told you there is a man who will love you better than anyone in this world?

I knew you would use the law, (Ex, Lev, Det). That was law my friend, I can be open about why He put that there. Sorry I am not trying to argue or anything (hope not). Hell...I can talk about this too.
