Well...as a person who has been a cog manipulator inside the machine... putting them together inside of what they call a "sandbox" to see how the stuff functions together...

It's probably just an add on app that the site owner could purchase...but it's stability is going to be highly questionable. Updates are needed regularly and that can knock out an add on in a second. Fixing it can then undo an update or make it not function correctly.

Just saying... unless it's built into the platform itself...not really something that you want.

It's also problematic as you were saying as that because it's a discussion platform people whine about anything and everything possible... also figuring out ways to abuse any system that is put in place just because they want some sort of perception of gravitas...

People get upset over the dumbest things too. Like someone who you are grooming to become a moderator but then blow it spectacularly with posts that require deleting. And when you point it out they get their feelings hurt...*sigh*

Trust me when I say that running and owning a forum is a thankless job. I'm just glad the place is here and running. (And that it's not like many other places that claim to be Christian)

600 is a lot of rep power Magenta, especially when the average was probably 6.
I liked the friends list but still, having followers is kinda neat too. :)
I may have been wrong... but I know I was closer to 700 than 600

Didn't the old friends' list transfer over to followers/following? Heh, I remember looking at my friends list and seeing so many of them banned or guests, etc, but I never wanted to delete them because it helped me remember people that were no longer here.

I went on a few trips and errands...I get tired of reading 8hrs a day. I'm a construction Electrician for more than one reason.... don't get me wrong...I enjoy reading but when it becomes work it gets old quick. I still have to stay up on it all as I got my portfolio to maintain.

So I've been cooking and then doing a few leather crafts.

The leather crafts I'm finding to be a bit more difficult lately. Finishing the pieces is where most of the information is really missing. So much is sold unfinished to begin with...it's expensive cheap garbage.

Pricing structure is gone out the window for most of it. (Custom, unique, hand crafted leather goods) The truly good stuff doesn't need your name put on it...it's striking all by itself and usually everyone knows it's owner. It's well finished without having unfinished edges or the flesh side ever being with an ability to stain or come into contact with you or valuables. (Lined with something).

I was thinking of making a few items as Christmas presents for friends. So I made a study piece to practice skills and test performance of edges, joints, and seams.

Soon enough I will start on the masterpieces. In the meantime my study piece was a pocket composition notepad cover. My wife uses them a lot for her office job. I lined it with some upholstery/curtain fabric that had been embroidered....it was really cheap and on sale at the sewing store. Then dyed the thing shiny red with a butterfly stamp on it.
It's about the size of a pocket new testament. Now I got to make a couple of bracelets for her office days.

One red and one yellow for her physical contact preferences. (Red meaning stay 6ft away masked and yellow means within 6ft is okay but I don't wanna hug or shake hands.

She isn't exactly up for Green contact except from me on a normal basis. She will shake hands but doesn't enjoy it.

Where most offices will use silicone rubber I'm making hers out of leather.

And it's keeping me out of trouble....

But enough about me....how has things been around here?
Thank you for responding and filling us in :):D:)

My apologies for my tardy reply

Wow, I did not know you did leather arts!

And I was also unaware that there was a protocol in place using objects to
denote how close one is comfortable getting to others while covid is ongoing

I have been absent a bit here and there also but can't seem to stay away long :giggle::D:giggle:

Rube, is 'DD' pointing at something or testing the wind, lol.
Morning Tabin,

lol I think he is testing the wind.
Just hit lunch here. I am wishing I could get my hair cut, it is too too long. Three times now I have wanted to get it cut but bang Lockdown so it now half way down my back. Men have it so much easier, just a bunch of shears and they are done.
Anyway hope you have a good sleep (y):coffee:

Are these reps like the like, agree, happy etc emoji's?
No, it was more like a number-level of "reputation" (what 'rep' means) for the user. When someone "gave rep", it would add to the target user's rep number according to the number-level of rep of the one giving the rep.

I hope that makes sense... :)

They didn't have all the emoji's before. I think it was maybe a like and dislike option. The system keep track of your likes and they were considered good, as well.

The rep. was separate from the likes. It was a reputation point system. People could rep. you and it would give you reputation points. The more points you had meant the better you reputation on CC.

Tourist and Magenta having a 600 to 700 Rep. power meant they probably had some of the highest reputation power on CC. One rep. from them would add 6 to 7 points to some one's rep. points.

Sounds worldly  I am glad that system does not exist anymore.
Thanks for the info.

I have another question for when people wake up :sleep::sleep::sleep:

When we get a new heaven and a new earth and things go back to what they originally were supposed to be before the fall, will there be marriage again??

I suppose I should expand on this. I was talking to a JW, his church is teaching that the tribulation will be starting soon and they have been advised to have a duffle bag ready to flee when chaos is unleashed. Those who survive the tribulation will then go onto re marry etc etc and quoted a whole lot of scripture o_Oo_Oo_Oo_O
Anyway, I didn't know of one scripture offhand to dispute this.

I think this one answers the question Ruby:

23 That same day the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to him with a question. 24 “Teacher,” they said, “Moses told us that if a man dies without having children, his brother must marry the widow and raise up offspring for him. 25 Now there were seven brothers among us. The first one married and died, and since he had no children, he left his wife to his brother. 26 The same thing happened to the second and third brother, right on down to the seventh. 27 Finally, the woman died. 28 Now then, at the resurrection, whose wife will she be of the seven, since all of them were married to her?”
29 Jesus replied, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. 30 At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. 31 But about the resurrection of the dead—have you not read what God said to you, 32 ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of the dead but of the living.”
