Unmerited favorWhat is grace?
What are your thoughts? What is grace?
The best definition I've heard is, "God doing for us what we cannot do for ourselves". God has given all His spiritual riches to us in lord Jesus. Grace is also the Life of Christ. Everyone knows "by grace you are saved" Ephesians 2:8. I've never heard a sermon on Romans 5:10. It tells us that we are saved by His Life. Christians should stop fussing about what we have to do to please God (answer - nothing) and focus on what God has already done for us in Christ. I've preached this myself. The message title is "How to be a Christian without really trying".Here is a video on people discussing grace and what it means to them.

When I think of God's grace, I think of this passage:
Romans 5:6-11 (KJV)
6For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 11And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
Not that I wish to detract from the thread but do you think it would help to give examples of Gods grace from the Bible?
Lots of nuggets in it and lots of it in the OT as well.
I will start with Adam and Eve.
They sinned, they hid from God he sought them out.
As a result the separation from God started yet he clothed them.
Maybe the first act of grace?
Why is it that if we use the tremendous power of the Lord through our faith in Him it should mean that we turn a blind eye to the tremendous power there is in following His guidance through works? The best definition I've heard is, "God doing for us what we cannot do for ourselves".
