My wife retired from the school district this year and received her first retirement check on July 30th. The amount ended up being around $600 more than she expected. :D She's had conversations with other co-workers who retired before her who had the same amount of years of service and their pay checks were around $600 less than hers. Well that's because her former co-workers receive health insurance through the school district as retirees. LOL! My wife did not even consider that. She is covered under my health insurance now which explains why her net pay is more. We were both thrilled after finding out she makes more than what she originally expected. Just goes to show you that it's better to expect less and that way you are never disappointed!

So....
My question is do you have a retirement plan for what you are going to do once you retire from earning a living? (Men are created by God to work constantly)
I've been working on mine. Lots of reading and studying with lots of ideas and looking at how to get things accomplished.
No, it won't provide a steady income (lots of travel plans included) but it will keep me out of trouble.

What are you planning on doing?

I still plan on working part time after I retire from full time work. I have multiple part time jobs to choose from. My wife works part time and also baby sits our 1 year old grandson. :)

Awesome...
I've been looking at small scale farming. It's a lot of work but I think that I can pull it off.
Looking at raising various fruits and then turning them into preserves for retail.
The processing and FDA approval is the largest sticking point I got. It's also the most expensive portion. I'm going to have to either lease or purchase a commercial property to do it on. Then on top of that finding the jars and labels for a reasonable price.

And that's been the real issues. The rest is actually easy... from the UPC codes and the wholesalers, all are easy enough. But the processing and etc is going to be a real bugger because I will be out in the middle of nowhere. Gotta have city water and sewer. (Farms don't...at least where I've been looking)

So...I've got some choices. But I don't like any of them at the moment. I'm probably going to have to find a consultant somewhere....ugghhhh

But in the meantime...look at all the ways I can get into trouble. :p

Well, I was just thinking that perhaps this thread was slow over the weekend and that it was time to jump in and wake it up.........
but then I noticed on the main page that Dan had been posting 15(ish) minutes ago and I'm going

My notices have once again failed to notify.........
I should have known better.

(but it has no problem notifying of all the vaccine/bdf threads I pop in to read once in a blue moon   perhaps THAT'S where the conspiracy REALLY is  .... I'm just joking  or am I?)

But ah man! I missed 5 pages this weekend of virtual coffee and donuts.......
wonder if any are left?

Yeah motivation when you are on your own can be quite hard at times... Usually it's very easy to say.. I'll do that tomorrow :ROFL:
yet it can also be hard when you're not on your own......
everyone always wanting junk food and drive thrus  .
if I take the kids for a walk it is either to fast, to slow, or to much whining.
And if I wait till evening when hubs is home, all are fed and I could MAYBE escape by then I'm ready to crash

just in case anyone is wondering/asking..

It’s hard these days for me, wont Go into detail but as always I have sunk down into the pit of despair. Those who know me (as littlebit1987) know this already. I havent Feel like myself in days/weeks But About this time is when friends of any kind Leave me, which is why I rarely get on here anymore cause I don’t know How I will react to some folks here.

But please know I AM getting help, it’s just a process like anything else when you go see the doctor about an illness. Just. takes. Time.

thanks For being understanding
Sorry I missed ya over the weekend......
I was just thinking of you late Saturday afternoon too.
pray you're doing better today.

Hey Godsgirl83, or "GG" as I use- found this and thought you might enjoy-
Love it :p
When I first joined CC and started getting called "GG" I was in the store one day and some itty bits were with their grandmother who they called GG. They were calling out "Hey GG! GG!" and I was like "whose calling for me?"
I have decided that should the Lord tarry, and we're still on this earth when my kids are adults, should they marry and bless us with grandkids that I'm going to officially be able to go by GG in real life too :p (then I'll be looking on ebay for this mug  )

Not so sure about cereal anymore, I hear so much about gluten, starch, wheat, and sugar being enemies of a healthy body. Today is "stuff that grows in dirt" day for me. Veges' and fruit for Mondays. Received this at a prophetic conference, we each were given words of knowledge of what He would have us fast once a week, for some it was electronics, they recognized they were spending too much time on the music, idiot tube, etc.
